As far as I know, revone only works for the HTC One, not the one s. You can check hboot from the bootloader. You can get to the bootloader in two ways. If you've worked with adb before, use "adb reboot-bootloader". Easier way is to just hold down the power and volume down buttons until you make it into the bootloader. From there hboot version should be visible. You can see what the bootloader looks like at 6:30 in the video.

I'm having a bit of trouble. At 2:40 when you're copying the revone file into the data folder, my data folder is completely empty. I've followed this step once before when I actually rooted my phone for the first time. The folder wasn't empty then. I'm so lost.
Since we have S-off and everything now, you should definitely make a tutorial on how to fully return to stock without the phone showing "re-locked" status!

From what I understand revone doesn't work on HBOOT 1.54 and newer. So if you want S-OFF on 1.54 or newer you'll have to use RomRunner (XDA). The method is more complicated though.
For anyone wondering, if you're getting error code -1, I was having the same issue with running PA 3.99. You restore my viper sense rom and it was fine. My guess is that it needs to be a sense based rom for it to work all the way through.

Do we really need soff? Is this a must in order to install custom roms? I have heard you can do it with son too. Why soff than? Another thing. Can you go son again after going soff?

Not yet, you'll probably have to wait. However unlocking gives you access to rom and custom recovery already... so unless you really need custom kernels or radios there's no need to even s-off.

Im having trouble getting S-off. I am rooted, unlocked, and running ViperRom 1.1.0. I placed revone into the folder im supposed to put it in, yet when I type "chmod 755 revone" into the terminal on my phone, it says, "unable to chmod revone: No such file or directory." Tried researching reasons why it would not work and none explain my situation.
I have tried to get s off with firewater, revone, moonshine, romrunner and the other one that lets the user get s off without using a pc(cant remember the name) All have failed phone is rooted and bootloader unlocked. The phone is imei blacklisted in the uk where i bought it from on ebay i live in ireland where it works fine on my home network as its a different country. moonshine cant get past the adb stage even though i checked adb using the method in this video, romrunner telle me to power on phone and pray and try again. ive tried installing different roms to run s off programes but no luck. Can you help? please?

which one of your videos shows u how to root the device because the next video that u have up is saying that u have to unlock the boot looader
It says that it succeeded in terminal, but when I restart and go into bootloader it still says S-ON...

I had a custom rom allready installed, after I restored the stock HTC Android it worked like a charm. Hoped it helped with best regards from germany

Since I can not unroot my tmo HTC one what can I do so my play movies and other apps that require to be unrooted to work?
