The hard part of losing weight is breaking your habits, staying motivated, your life situation in general. I am 110kg @ 28 y/o and I want to lose weight, but I also want to eat whatever I want. I can't do both. It's not "hard" for me to lose weight, if I managed to stay motivated. I've done keto dieting, tried cutting down on snacks/unhealthy foods. I've managed to do it for 2-3 months but then I just slowly fall back to my old eating habits. It's kinda hard with all these food-videos and ads going around to not get tempted.
it's not like u can't have a cheat day and enjoy some snacks, it's just that when you have that cheat day don't consume 4000 calories and ruin the other 6 days you actully did good.
One of the best options are taking things one step at a time. Take the time to find healthier alternatives to foods you enjoy, or find healthy food that you enjoy eating. A sudden massive change can be overwhelming and scary. You'd be surprised how many healthy foods taste great! Something that may or may not apply to you is chewing gum. @@Ripcraze the problem with cheat days is not just setting back your weight delta, it's setting back your mental distance from eating bad food. once you get a piece of it, you're just waking up a sleeping giant of cravings. when on a calorie deficit, it takes enough effort just to stop oneself from eating. when you finally give in and cheat, and a couple of hours later realise the desire is not only back but stronger, you lose hella motivation because you feel scammed. if you set regular cheat days, for natural overeaters it's going to turn into "uh i have X days until the next cheat day" which is never sustainable for fragile-willed people because it makes the other days less meaningful

When I left high school I went on a gap year program to India for three months. For the first time in my whole life I broke 100 lbs. We were CONSTANTLY moving in India, walking hiking working with our hands, 70% of the day was spent moving around quite a lot. But given our group of 7 students were just barely adults fresh out of high school, the two guides with us made sure of things, one of them being that we ate enough. So for the first time in my life I was forced to eat three meals a day, and since almost all Indian cuisine is vegetarian it’s packed with carbs and whatnot. So despite the fact that I spent three months taking part in the most continuously physically strenuous activity in my life, I gained weight because I ate more than I needed to. That was 6 years ago. There were a couple years between then and now when I did literally nothing physically strenuous, and that was probably the least I ever weighed because I would often forget to eat and didn’t desire to shove shit into my body. My body knew how to maintain its weight and I ate according to that instinct. Now that I work construction I eat more but not so much really. I crave high protein foods and have gained muscle, surely lost some fat too, but my weight hovers around 94. I say all this to emphasize just how much your diet matters more than your physical exercise when it comes to your weight. Running a mile only burns about 100 calories. The average human being’s build undergoing the average human beings physical activity requires 2000 calories to maintain its weight. If you need to lose weight then you need to stop eating what you’re eating and eat less. But most people are physically and psychologically addicted to food, which is extremely unnatural.

Holy shit how many more videos on this subject do people need? Its simple, its mostly about mentality + a bit of self control. People using excuses like "Its cheaper to buy pre-made food" are morons and unable to face the truth, but so are the ones saying "Omg I dont see how its so hard, just eat less" who show how ignorant they truly are on the subject. Your weight is in your control but physique is not as much. I can bench 1.2x bodyweight but still don't look as fit as I should. Strength training should be branded as hypertrophy training instead (less weight, more reps), since most people want to focus on aesthetics, not be a powerlifter.
Because benching 1.2x body weight isnt a requirement to be fit lol... purpose of a bulk, you can get your numbers up but you sacrifice the look, you most definitely can change your physique
I wish they were honest and just say they are lazy and or love greasy fat food. Fast food is Not Cheaper. I make work meals for the week that cost about $15-$20 for all the 8-12 different veggies + meat. I put them all in a huge turkey pan together with spices and herbs, bake for 30 minutes, and then separate in glass sealing bowls adding in ground beef or chicken breast ect. Eating at home is way cheaper than any fast food, and it literally just takes 10 minutes to do

If you've ever budgeted or done meal planning, you know that raw ingredients (pasta, fruits, vegetables, oats, rice, beans, ground meat, canned fish, nuts, etc.) are the cheapest food to buy. "A frozen meal I sometimes get for 1.50-2 dollars"- in what grocery store is that the norm? Not safeway, sprouts, trader joes, or whole foods. The dollar menu doesn't exist anymore. The cheapest McDonalds sandwich, the McChicken, is $3.50 with low nutritional value and empty calories. A pack of 6 chicken thighs from Trader Joes is 10 dollars($1.65 ea.), a pack of 8 buns is 4 dollars($0.50 ea.), and lettuce is 2 dollars a pound = $2.50ish for a homemade chicken sandwich(good nutritional value, leaving you satiated, with low fat and high protein). That's one of the less polarizing examples. The notion that healthy food is more expensive than frozen or fast food is outdated and untrue. That being said, people on this show seem uneducated, and more interested in flaunting morals and emotional intelligence, rather than goals, understandings and achievements.
I find it weird that no one brings up that “control” implies weight loss *and* gain. I used to be very fat as a kid, and then I worked out around the ages of 13-15. It was easy until now. I’m 23, 200 lbs, fat, with no muscle, and now I know that some fat people can’t easily get in shape and improve their health. Yes, work and lifestyle can make you feel more drained. Also, junk fast food is easily accessible and not expensive (but still more than groceries) and is pretty addictive. You come out of your exhausting job, and you are hungry and tired, with no food ready at home. What easier option is there than to go buy McDonald’s, go home, sit, and watch the juicer? That doesn’t justify being fat; I’m just explaining why it happens, even when losing weight is as easy as CICO. Atm, I’m riding my bike to work to lose weight and save money. It’s better than paying for a gym membership and go unmotivated. I also cook meals on my days off, and if you can’t really cook or don’t want to, buy an egg boiler or rice cooker. Not only is it doable, but it’s also necessary.

One girl at the start brought up a giant point thats often overlooked. Sure genetics money this that, a lot of things influence us. One of the biggest factors is time, I think if you do not even have the time to go grocery shopping and prepare your own meals, you definitely don't have the time to go to the gym. I'm not saying fitness is a time problem but for many people time can be the bottleneck, which MIGHT be why they order more often, have no energy to cook etc.

I ate at a slight calorie deficit and went on multiple 1 hr bike rides a week. Lost 30 lbs in 4 months. If you eat at a slight calorie deficit AND do a bit of exercise, your body is forced to pull from your fat reserves for energy. Simple conservation of energy and mass.

I am 110kg @ 28 y/o and I want to lose weight, but I also want to eat whatever I want. I can't do both.
It's not "hard" for me to lose weight, if I managed to stay motivated. I've done keto dieting, tried cutting down on snacks/unhealthy foods. I've managed to do it for 2-3 months but then I just slowly fall back to my old eating habits. It's kinda hard with all these food-videos and ads going around to not get tempted.
it's not like u can't have a cheat day and enjoy some snacks, it's just that when you have that cheat day don't consume 4000 calories and ruin the other 6 days you actully did good.
One of the best options are taking things one step at a time. Take the time to find healthier alternatives to foods you enjoy, or find healthy food that you enjoy eating. A sudden massive change can be overwhelming and scary. You'd be surprised how many healthy foods taste great! Something that may or may not apply to you is chewing gum. @@Ripcraze the problem with cheat days is not just setting back your weight delta, it's setting back your mental distance from eating bad food. once you get a piece of it, you're just waking up a sleeping giant of cravings. when on a calorie deficit, it takes enough effort just to stop oneself from eating. when you finally give in and cheat, and a couple of hours later realise the desire is not only back but stronger, you lose hella motivation because you feel scammed. if you set regular cheat days, for natural overeaters it's going to turn into "uh i have X days until the next cheat day" which is never sustainable for fragile-willed people because it makes the other days less meaningful

When I left high school I went on a gap year program to India for three months. For the first time in my whole life I broke 100 lbs. We were CONSTANTLY moving in India, walking hiking working with our hands, 70% of the day was spent moving around quite a lot. But given our group of 7 students were just barely adults fresh out of high school, the two guides with us made sure of things, one of them being that we ate enough. So for the first time in my life I was forced to eat three meals a day, and since almost all Indian cuisine is vegetarian it’s packed with carbs and whatnot. So despite the fact that I spent three months taking part in the most continuously physically strenuous activity in my life, I gained weight because I ate more than I needed to.
That was 6 years ago. There were a couple years between then and now when I did literally nothing physically strenuous, and that was probably the least I ever weighed because I would often forget to eat and didn’t desire to shove shit into my body. My body knew how to maintain its weight and I ate according to that instinct. Now that I work construction I eat more but not so much really. I crave high protein foods and have gained muscle, surely lost some fat too, but my weight hovers around 94. I say all this to emphasize just how much your diet matters more than your physical exercise when it comes to your weight. Running a mile only burns about 100 calories. The average human being’s build undergoing the average human beings physical activity requires 2000 calories to maintain its weight. If you need to lose weight then you need to stop eating what you’re eating and eat less. But most people are physically and psychologically addicted to food, which is extremely unnatural.

In my experience, people simply refuse to count calories because it’s too hard. Your weight is in your control but physique is not as much. I can bench 1.2x bodyweight but still don't look as fit as I should. Strength training should be branded as hypertrophy training instead (less weight, more reps), since most people want to focus on aesthetics, not be a powerlifter.

I make work meals for the week that cost about $15-$20 for all the 8-12 different veggies + meat. I put them all in a huge turkey pan together with spices and herbs, bake for 30 minutes, and then separate in glass sealing bowls adding in ground beef or chicken breast ect. Eating at home is way cheaper than any fast food, and it literally just takes 10 minutes to do

i lost 10 ish pounds in 2 weeks doing nothing at all after starting ADHD meds... just the loss of apatite side affect made me lose weight even though the medication itself had no effect. i ate so little one week that when i actually ate a normal meal again it felt like i had eaten nothing, it made me more hungry because i was literally starving lol the reason they gain the weight back after losing it with a drug is because it is an addiction, your brain is addicted to the feeling and chemicals that it gives you and "just stop" is not a thing you can do to drop an addiction, most people need help.

Those people are misinformed about the cost of food. If you've ever budgeted or done meal planning, you know that raw ingredients (pasta, fruits, vegetables, oats, rice, beans, ground meat, canned fish, nuts, etc.) are the cheapest food to buy.

I used to be very fat as a kid, and then I worked out around the ages of 13-15. It was easy until now. I’m 23, 200 lbs, fat, with no muscle, and now I know that some fat people can’t easily get in shape and improve their health. Yes, work and lifestyle can make you feel more drained. Also, junk fast food is easily accessible and not expensive (but still more than groceries) and is pretty addictive. You come out of your exhausting job, and you are hungry and tired, with no food ready at home. What easier option is there than to go buy McDonald’s, go home, sit, and watch the juicer? That doesn’t justify being fat; I’m just explaining why it happens, even when losing weight is as easy as CICO. Atm, I’m riding my bike to work to lose weight and save money. It’s better than paying for a gym membership and go unmotivated. I also cook meals on my days off, and if you can’t really cook or don’t want to, buy an egg boiler or rice cooker. Not only is it doable, but it’s also necessary.

One of the biggest factors is time, I think if you do not even have the time to go grocery shopping and prepare your own meals, you definitely don't have the time to go to the gym. I'm not saying fitness is a time problem but for many people time can be the bottleneck, which MIGHT be why they order more often, have no energy to cook etc.

When it comes to losing weight, there are so many people who just jump in and tell them to do this and do this. There should be slow steps that are taken, because there are challenges that overweight people face. It’s just getting started and building those slow steps to losing weight.
I ate at a slight calorie deficit and went on multiple 1 hr bike rides a week. Lost 30 lbs in 4 months. If you eat at a slight calorie deficit AND do a bit of exercise, your body is forced to pull from your fat reserves for energy. Simple conservation of energy and mass.
