I recently bought myself a EP3 Type R and hands down it is such an insane car! They’re very quick and fun to drive. They also can keep up with quite alot of modern day cars too
Great video mate but definitely take it to some twisties as that's where it shines. I commented below but I'd get that gearbox checked out as the Quaife ATB's are silent, not clunky, and virtually unnoticeable at low speeds. I've had one in my gearbox for years now and it's a great bit of kit. From the Quaife site: "Silent in operation (even during low-speed parking manoeuvres) the Quaife ATB limited slip unit never ‘locks,’ making it progressive, safe and user friendly. Unlike plate-style LSD designs there are no clutches, ramps, springs or other wear prone components to replace at regular intervals, because the Quaife ATB’s well-proven system of helical gears is extremely durable, plus it’s designed to use standard transmission oils." Also regards acceleration if you do have to open the box up get a shorter final drive fitted and you can accelerate into VTEC from even low speeds and higher gears
Nice video dude, but yeah take it out to some NSL 60/70mph roads and the twistie corners or roundabouts and it'll be completely different animal. Can't do much on those small roads plus higher chance of something taking a wrong turn. I'll have to see your ST videos as I used to have a mk7.5 ST-Line 140 but looking for my second car after not driving for like 3 years. Dunno what budget or power I'm gonna go for but may get something quite cheap but maybe an ST or a MK5 GTI at the upper end but been recommended to look more in 2000-3000 area
Yeah that’s true I was initially planning to just do a walk around and didn’t have time to take it to some nice roads. Got a new video on the ST dropping soon as well.
No this is not normal. Plate type diffs like the Kaaz are clunky and noisy but the Quaife ATBs are silent, fit and forget solutions. I have one in my EP3. Any transmission noises in an EP3 should be checked out. And BMW M cars do have proper mechanical diffs (albeit a different type to the Quaife)
its a nice kinda car ! maybe i buy one when am getting older and need a ac! now am only driving a crx with supercharger making the same hp . welcome to the honda world.
lovely car mate...well done. What about the mfactory or wavetrac LSD diffs. Do you know how these compare to the mechanical noises you experience around corners with your quaiffe.
@@shifting_gearss The ST feels like the more capable car with better handling but the civic has that raw edge. Would say the civic is more fun and feels old skool
@@H4Haris my son has one and they are strong engines, they feel much more mechanical and they do go for what they are but you have to rev them , remind of a 2 stroke bike
Get it on some proper roads. Driving it completely wrong.

I completely agree. Definitely went above my expectations
As the owner of an ep3 and a 400hp stage 2 golf 7.5R, I can confirm even though the golf is so much quicker it will never be as fun as the ep3!
Pointless taking it on them roads take it on some country roads so you can get a feel for the car
Get yourself eibach springs, camber bolts and a fast road set up done, game changer

What fuel do you put in

100%, need to hit vtec and slam it through 1st 2nd 3rd gear in vtec
That's normal for the diff. Do not worry. The bmw you mentioned has a completely different diff - it's electronic as your one is a mechanical diff
Good point thank you 💯

These cars are so much fun. Bought mine completely stock, now it’s running 440bhp, whole different ball game😂
Yeah that must be insane
Super charger or turbo because without one you won't reach 400hp
@@itsalllies7411 you technically could but it would be awful to drive and *insanely* expensive, definitely supercharged or turbo like you said tho
@@slonky821 no the fn2 with induction kit intake manifold exhaust and out take manifold and a remap your only going to get 230bhp max
i know@@itsalllies7411
Mate I'm 32 with a louder type r than that... age means fuck all when ya into cars. Spitting flames, popping and banging all day every day!
Haha yeah I completely agree🤣
What modifications ?
take it on some decent roads man no good on residential streets

Definitely need to experience a crx soon. Yours must be rapid
ive got a cammed fn2 the model after the ep3, mines is around the 260 bhp mark. aint no joke on back roads
Need to see what fn2s are like.

Thank you 🙏🏼 I haven’t managed to find out much about the other lsds but I suspect the quaiffe may have been fitted incorrectly
By the sounds of it you have the track focused diff that’s why it knocks, it’s much more aggressive.
Then engine swap for fiesta ST for a VTEC civic type R engine
Sick content bro 👌🏽👌🏽
Appreciate it g💯
@@H4Haris how would you say the type r compares to the ST bro ?
@@shifting_gearss The ST feels like the more capable car with better handling but the civic has that raw edge. Would say the civic is more fun and feels old skool
bro why didnt you take it to s bigger road and use full potential..
big boy things!!nice one my bro!!
Yes bro we need to collab soon as well💯
@@H4Haris yes my bro!!when ever you ready G!!!
Please adjust your gear knob sir. Really bugged me throughout the video 🤣
🤣yeah that annoyed me too
Vtec ain’t a joke
Vtec comes in like a horse kick to the chest
Jesus this was painful.
Love it ❤
💯💯
It's probably a plate style lsd. They are quite noisy and clunky.
Found out it was actually the CV joint making noise. Was a cheap fix
That’s a monster
Jesus that poor silicone induction pipe all twisted wtf
@@manxracer5541 sorted it out after
Sounds sick even tho you missed 2nd 😂
🤣 I was wondering when someone would mention that
very cool crazy car
🙏🏼
Ouf🔥🔥
💯💯
Golf R, RS3 don't feel as quick as a honda civic type R EP3, come on stop it. The ep3 is slow as hell compared to them.
In terms of engagement it definitely feels quicker than a Golf R maybe not an rs3🤣

I like the socks hanging on your radiator
Thanks gabīsh
That poor civic. You're driving it like a right fanny
What its made for. Year later still going strong but you're right
nice
had to turn off this video as the coins rattling around is annoying
I dodnt drive my ep3 like this
Needs to learn how to drive properly
