Whilst it is a fantastic machine it's not as versatile as my HD4 which does everything!!
This is much cheaper though and would suit anyone with a good number of sheep.

ABOUT ME
I’m 33 years old and I’m a sheep farmer from Ayrshire in South West Scotland, which is why I have such a strong accent! I was born and raised on a sheep farm watching my dad who was the shepherd.
At 18 I went away from farming to work in the city (something I still do) and at 23 (2013) I decided I wanted to do something for some extra money so I went on a sheep shearing course. The hardest thing I’ll ever do was learning to shear sheep. [shudders thinking about it]
I shore whilst on my holidays from work for 2 years and then in 2015 my dad died so I decided to get my own sheep so I could continue working with sheep as it was something I loved doing. From there it escalated quickly from my first 4 sheep in my mum’s garden to now running around 850 breeding ewes.
I shore over 19,000 sheep this season in the UK and have my own shearing run which lets you see many different farms in the summer months.
A few years ago I bought myself a sheep pregnancy scanner and have been building up my run since then.
I watched a few farm vlogs on UA-cam and decided I could have a go and now here we are!

I went to an Ag fair in Tulare, California (where I got to meet Graeme, The Hoof GP). I went to the Te Pari booth and said I watched a UA-camr who uses Te Pari equipment. The American reps said - must be Cammy Wilson, right? I agreed. They showed me the machine and gave me some Te Pari kit (baseball cap, knit cap, scarf) to take home. Cool experience.
All the way from Melbourne Australia, I absolutely enjoy watching all your videos about different parts of your hard working life. Great video, what a time saver for you. Please, watch out for Jock. He was in and around the machine as you were hoisting and positioning it. It only takes one mishap for a tragedy! He's at that age, quick and into everything. I'm not complaining, just concerned.

No matter how many times I see the maggots from fly strike my skin crawls. Just shows the importance of you guys vigilance. I enjoyed the video and I hope we get a video of when you brought this new piece of kit to the farm with over 2000 lambs.

Great job. The sheep all look fine and healthy apart from the bit of fly strike. Hopefully the remaining ones put on good weight in the next few weeks and you get a decent price at the mart. I don't need any toddler labour in my garden just now but I know where to look when I do need a bit of lifting muscle. Well done Jock.

Have you thought of adding in wiltshire for shedding genetics? They are doing a trial here in Wairarapa, NZ about "grading up" romney sheep with wiltshire to make them self shedding. Would be cool to do a similar thing with texel.
When I was a kid, we sat lambs down on their bums on a bathroom scale to weigh them. Times sure have changed. :)

You should have 3 keys to quad bike Lizzie’s, yours and one with bike so when Jockie grabs it you have back up
the plastic makes the machine much more quiet -solid engineering. - can it be automated based on weight to open a side gate to sort heavy lambs from light lambs?

Those market charges seem pretty steep to me for the lambs. Are there other markets in your area for lambs and cull ewes and, if so, are their charges significantly different?
I acknowledge that travel time and haulage costs will be higher to go elsewhere. Is there any sort of deadweight marketing organisation in your area, and if so, how do the stoppages compare with the market charges?
The weighing and drafting equipment are really slick and quick once the sheep are flowing through but at £10,000 to buy much too expensive to my mind. Afterall a decent digital weigher and quality three way drafting gate set up would achieve the same result for a fraction of this cost even allowing for additional supervisory labour costs and a somewhat slower throughput per hour.

Most markets are quite similar i believe in terms of commission and charges.
It’s a great machine for sure but having used the HD 4 i’d always pay the extra for that. It weighs and drafts on top of all the other jobs!
Heya, could you do one on Loaghtan sheep. Used to live in the Isle of Man and theyre iconic there. They are designated under a Protected Designation of Origin and rare at only 1,500 breeding females. Very stunning color. Manx Loaghtan Sheep Breed Society formed to look after the breed into the future but the breed could still use some showcasing. Good wool and meat sheep.

It's probably a dumb question but what makes a lamb be born black? Does a black sheep do better or worse at market than a white sheep?
I think since these are meat lambs the color doesn't make a difference, but I'm not really in the sheep business, so I'm not sure if they actually grow any larger than white or brown sheep. I'm guessing they're the same.
No difference. Just a different type within a breed. All sell the same and all weigh the same. In some breeds they can be rarer but across the board there is no difference.
It's a genetic thing.
Black is a recessive gene in most breeds.
Two white parents that carry the recessive gene have a 1 in 4 chance of throwing a black lamb.
That's a 1 in 4 chance for every mating, it doesn't mean it WILL happen 1 year in 4 - it may never show.
For these ones they all have Jacob mothers. A jacob always throws a black lamb when crossed with another breed 👍

You can change the settings from max accuracy to max speed. The lambs run better and a lot faster.

I have to say that your safety, with regards to allowing your child to walk under a piece of equipment you do not know how to use is worrying. A baby in a work area should not be permitted. Accidents on farms are some of the highest in any industry.
In editing, you might want to convert pounds to dollars and show that in a subtitle so American viewers have a better idea of the money you're talking about.
Right now, the pound sterling is roughly equal to the American dollar.
....amd then the child gets crushed, totally irresponsable.

Good picture of it about 12:30. In flystrike, flies lay their eggs in dirty wool. The eggs hatch, become maggots, & can kill the sheep thru their gnawing.
