Hi Pawpaw & Gigi, you sure are knowledgeable and the back up generators and alternative living seams to have worked smoothly.. Being a California girl I panicked when my power went out for one week. I was so happy my job had freezer space and was able to do back up phone charging in my truck, candles & cold showers in the dark was peaceful like camping 🏕😊

I LOVE a porch. A screened in porch is even better. Papa Gallman told me once that his granddaddy thought that you should build the porch and build the house around it. Now, im not that bad but I do enjoy a porch.Thank you. We are in a drought but i thank the Lord that it isn't worse.

My husband got struck by lightning in '97 and killed😢 on a bright sunny day, closest storm was 56 miles away. We are definitely cautious when storms are luming, but you just cant thwart Gods timing. Hindsight is 20/20, we didnt know why then but six months later his mom died, so God answered his own prayer to take him before his mom, cause he wouldnt be okay if it happened the other way around😇😇

I love the idea of sleeping on the porch - i had an old 44 x 14 ft tr ailer and i built a porch for it - screened it in - and my dog and I used to sleep out there - f elt quite safe; my dog was a wolfhound
I got my stepdad a coffee maker that he could use on a barbecue so he could still make coffee even if we don't have power. I got it for him 2 years ago for Christmas since we live where we can be affected by hurricanes. We don't get them as bad as PawPaw but do get at least one affecting the state I live in.
I’ve used a used plastic milk jug for lighting (gallon or half gallon jug) .. Cut the top to fit a flashlight and put the jug on it. It throws the light and lights up a whole room. I hope your power gets back on soon ❤🙏❤️

Putting out Cat Food Every Night and she was having to buy Large Back of Cat Food Every 2 wks. Si told her she was going to have to quit feeding them was costing too much. Si went out on porch to see how many cats were coming to eat and it was 2 racoons eating All that "Cat Food". Si said; "They weighed about 100 lbs a piece". Si does say his stories are 95 % true. He said; "That was the Biggest Coons He had ever seen, not one cat was eating that cat food". I laughed so hard and I hope you get a laugh too. Luv From Tenn. Yes generators are great. I invested in a solar one because if thereis no power you cant pump gas. They do make a item that pumps up your water out of the well if yiu don't have power. Glad things are getting back to normal lets pray they stay that way

Hindsight is 20/20, we didnt know why then but six months later his mom died, so God answered his own prayer to take him before his mom, cause he wouldnt be okay if it happened the other way around😇😇

I love the idea of sleeping on the porch - i had an old 44 x 14 ft tr ailer and i built a porch for it - screened it in - and my dog and I used to sleep out there - f elt quite safe; my dog was a wolfhound

I got my stepdad a coffee maker that he could use on a barbecue so he could still make coffee even if we don't have power. I got it for him 2 years ago for Christmas since we live where we can be affected by hurricanes. We don't get them as bad as PawPaw but do get at least one affecting the state I live in.
Here in WV we are DRYYYYY!!! Our grass is crispy and my goodness it’s dusty out!!! We need some rain bad around here.

I’ve used a used plastic milk jug for lighting (gallon or half gallon jug) .. Cut the top to fit a flashlight and put the jug on it. It throws the light and lights up a whole room. I hope your power gets back on soon ❤🙏❤️

I've been there but at least we had running Cold Water in the house. My husband heated water on our grill. Story Time. I watch Duck Call Room Podcast, check it out Paw Paw I think you will get a kick out of it. Si Robertson's wife was feeding stray cats on her porch. Putting out Cat Food Every Night and she was having to buy Large Back of Cat Food Every 2 wks. Si told her she was going to have to quit feeding them was costing too much. Si went out on porch to see how many cats were coming to eat and it was 2 racoons eating All that "Cat Food". Si said; "They weighed about 100 lbs a piece". Si does say his stories are 95 % true. He said; "That was the Biggest Coons He had ever seen, not one cat was eating that cat food". I laughed so hard and I hope you get a laugh too. Luv From Tenn. Yes generators are great. I invested in a solar one because if thereis no power you cant pump gas. They do make a item that pumps up your water out of the well if yiu don't have power. Glad things are getting back to normal lets pray they stay that way
