- The powers that be were in our favor on this day of filming! We managed to capture the 3 ways in which we maintain 1st cutting inventory as we move late into the winter. Rebaling, rebundling, and buying everything as a whole package.

35 years trucking at anything under an hour is great it would take me longer to clean the mud out of the trailer with a lift in and out of the trailer,, quick sweep and driver is off. the way you twist the board out i would consider twisting it in as well with a eye bolt in the center and a clip eliminating the tying of the strap I can see you are very thankful of the guys working there and the work force should be recognized as you do thanks for your hard work mike

A loading dock would suit you guys well, we made one last year in a few hours, got some large concrete blocks for the face a back filled enough dirt… Made loading and unloading trailers so much easier. Hope all is well!

IDK its your setup. It works and that's all that matters. The dock weed. What a pain. We don't have it much but I would guess its more prevalent in new fields or at least it is here. Once we have cut it does not come back in that season. We currently have extended our hayfields as far as we can. This was a great video. Keep it up!

When I drove the company had a contract with Costco. They had a 2 hour unload time before they would start paying for unload wait time. 30 minute unload time would be a dream, never happened with them, always 50-90 min. with the occasional up to 3hrs.
That’s what I thought. We try to treat the driver’s time with respect
@@FarmingInsider Subscribed 2 weeks ago so not yet caught up on past videos. You have been talking about a ramp. That would greatly decrease loading time, no fiddling around and pushing, not sure it would decrease unloading time much, you're doing good there. The problem is locating it where it isn't blocking other daily uses of the yard but close enough to where you're storing the hay the extra travel time negates the lesser time of loading/unloading. Also keeping in mind trucks have to have room to back up to it, tuck it around a corner somewhere or a difficult place to back into reasonably quickly and you've lost any advantage.

I spray with Harmony (THIFENSULFURON-METHYL) for docks in Alfalfa and in Grass here in NZ, does a great job and doesn’t kill any crop.

You being the shipper of hay would really like to see you travel to the receiver of the hay do a tour of there place see how they are unloading lets meet the animals that are consuming your products

I’d move up there full time if I could! 😅I have a few acres here in Oklahoma & customers I’ve had for 5-6 years! But every October through March I’m free to work if you need anyone!
Skip the racket and just use the strap. Have a loop tied on the tag end slide it behind the board and use a carabiner to connect the loop to the strap. Then just connect the hook end to the telehandler.
We are thinking about it, but we need to just get off our butts and build a loading dock
Looks like you have things figured out. It normally takes a few try's to find what works best.

We use 2-4D on the straight grasses and 2-4DB on the mixes

On the re-bales, how many flakes do you shoot for in the small squares? I would make a metal plank to replace the board with a hook point in the middle to make it fast and easy. Here in sw Ohio we are short of hay, my 12000 bales are gone and need more. One man band here and could not do it without machines! Hay Hud out.
We shoot for about a 42-46lb bale. We don't get too excited with flake count while rebaling
are there remote controls for the rebale line to start up and shut down (In case of emergency) or do you need to run outside and mess with the individual tractor controls to start and stop ?
We can shut down everything from inside except the baler

Swap that strap with a proper tow loop with loops on both ends. It will make hook up to the telehandler that much quicker.

@@FarmingInsider you can get different lengths at harbor freight. Would be better to not deal with the hook and ratchet mechanism.
Love the videos. We are an 11th generation hay farm out in Central MA. Much smaller operation. 7-8k squares a year.
Ford,Chev,Dodge don't matter up here in 10 years you can look through most of them, from winter road salt....

What size and types of twine do you use on the bales and on the bundles?
We use 170 on the small bales and 450 on the bundles. usually cordex i think
@@FarmingInsider did 170 work with the arcusins aswell we had trouble with twine braking with 210 on the arcusin
@@aidenkoster6427 I'm sorry, we do use 210. I shouldn't be replying this late at night haha. We had trouble with 170's breaking on the Arcusins but it seemed to be a decent fix when we hopped up to 210. What pressure do you run?
@@FarmingInsider I think we were running 120 psi on the bunder we tried 440 in the baler and it actually worked really well but I think we are going to try 300 or so this year.
We haven't bought a bundler yet but we have the option on a very slightly used c14 and a new d14 what machine did you prefer?

Hi, for you it wouldn't be better to do everything in a fixed position the rebaler system, rather than needing a lot of people and machines and doing it in the field?
I don't think we could keep up with orders rebaling without the 2 string work in the field
