  • Are headlights just not doing it for you when you go offroading? Well it is not news that you can add a light bar to the top of your Jeep to light up the way! I decided to buy a RIGID Industries Radiance+ 50" light bar and pair it with a pair of RIGID pod lights. I especially love these because of the backlight feature where you can chose your colour when you purchase!
    I have had these installed for almost a year now and I have had 0 problems with this light bar. I do hear a bit of a whistle noise sometimes from the light bar but not often although that is to be expected. The mounts work perfectly although I did have them galvanized and painted so that they do not rust in my Canadian winter salt climate.
    If you liked the way it looks, have them yourself or are just a hardcore Jeeper, SMASH THAT LIKE BUTTON!!
    If you want to pick up some for yourself at a great price check out northridge4x4.ca where I try to get all the mods I can buy there.
    Thanks for watching! Don't forget to subscribe for more upcoming new videos out every Sunday!
    Check out some of my other videos non Jeep related too for the sake of UA-cam surfing... I know its addictive.

    I drive with my blue backlighting on all the time. It comes on automatically with the ignition. Even stopped and asked a Sheriff. As long as its not blinking or rotating your fine. Mine is down in the bumper opening. Mounted on hood and windshield might get more attention

    Nice set up. Did you buy the special Rigid wiring harnesses for these or did you diy?

    • @LilBastard
      @LilBastard  4 роки тому

      No it was DIY, I bought insulated wiring that came with red, black and white sheaths to help me distinguish each wire when I was extending it to the sPOD. A long roll was only about $10 and it is still working to this day. Survived 2 Canadian winters.

    My 50 keeps blowing my 20 amp fuse at the fuse box in under 2 minutes of use. What size fuse are you using?

    • @LilBastard
      @LilBastard  3 роки тому

      I believe I am currently using a 30 amp fuse. However, since I do use my sPod switch panel to control everything, I do know that I once had it wired to the 15 amp fuse as well. I am able to use it for any period of time. Thanks for watching!

    A flat area with nothing for the light to actually reflect back isn’t the best way to show the lights off.

      Lil'Bastard isn’t the hood glare a bitch tho? It might not be as bad for you, but my truck is white and the glare back os horrible. I’m actually gonna remove mine this week.

      Can't say that I have had problems with hood glare, I guess the blue absorbs it more but maybe just haven't been in the situation yet where the glare would be very noticeable.

    How did you connect your spod with the ridge light bar and pods? I’m having trouble connecting the back light. The light bar has a 3 wire red, black, and white how do you split them to connect to the spod and use two different switches? Thank you

    • @LilBastard
      @LilBastard  3 роки тому

      The black and red wires are going to be connected to one switch point. In the spod under the hood you would connect the red to power #1 and the black to ground#1. The backlight would be the white wire and can be connected to Power #2 port for example. There doesnt have to be a matching ground in this case. With this set up when you switch on #1 the regular white light will go on and then when you switch on #2 the back light will go on.
      Let me know how it goes. Thanks for watching!

      @@LilBastard It's not legal in the U.S. to drive on the street with red or blue forward-facing lights.

    • @LilBastard
      @LilBastard  5 років тому

      @@SmokeytheJeep Specifically forward facing? So rock lights are fine but not blue glow on light bars?

    • @SmokeytheJeep
      @SmokeytheJeep 5 років тому +1

      Lil'Bastard Not necessarily. Most states have begun to craft their laws away from specific colors, so that any aftermarket light that creates “a distraction” for other drivers are disallowed. That leaves a lot of discretion to officers on the street. So, it’s best to avoid any of these when you’re on the street. Save the colored lights for parking lots, trails, shows, etc.
