That's the first time I've seen "Supreme Commander" mentioned in a Sci Fi size comparison video. It was one of my favorite Rts games and it's cool to see the Rhino and Rock head's size up close!
I appreciate how these videos have introduced me to branches of sci-fi that I might never have become aware of otherwise: "Hammer's Slammers", "OGRE" and "Bolo" all seem worth a look just based on the cool designs I've seen on this channel. Also, *BANEBLADE!*
The late Keith Laumer, the creator of Bolos, has been dead for some time now. Some other authors, with permission of his estate (I assume), have written novels based on his works. It's unlikely you'll be able to find many of his works being printed at this time. However, one of his novels is being reprinted _Bolo: Annals of the Dinochrome Brigade_ published in paperback just last year as part of the CAEZIK Notables series. It's currently available at Chapters/Coles/Indigo.
Now that you did the Mega Gargant, you should consider making a vid / vid series with WH40K's Titans and maybe the mechs from Battletech/Mechwarrior. That would be awesome.
There was a discontinued mobile turn-based strategy known as "Super Battle Tactics" produced by Dena a few years back. While I doubt it would be easy to estimate the weights of some of the tanks, there was a load of memorable ones that might make the cut for a list like this. And a benchmark for size might be a bit hard to find.
Thanks you for including so many tanks from my fav games franchisee (Metal Slug,C&C series,Dune,...). So I'll love see you add these for your list(some of them you may already did) : Tanks from Panzer Front: E-79,Aureole,IS-152,SU-122s,Shortbull and T69E3. ST-22 Earth Crisis from Battle Garegga Bahamut from Battle Bakraid Wild Weasel from Raiden Fighters trilogy,Gust Weasel and Sand Lobster from Raiden Fighters 2,boss tanks from Raiden Fighters 3. there more but I can't remember for now so I goonna add them later.
Some suggestion for the next video: Sherm (Super Mario Odyssey) Tank Robot (Tank Fortress 2) Hammerhead (Warhammer 40,000) Batomys (Valkyria Chronicles) Marmota (Valkyria Chronicles) Centurion (Valkyria Chronicles)
I feel like the Cabal Land Tanks in D2 should get a mention. We don't really know how huge the Halphas Electus is, but from being outside, this thing's BIG.
Fun to see some old school sci-fi tanks in the list, like the Blower tank from Hammer's Slammers. I didn't get the boss tank right. I DID guess the franchise! Do I get half credit?
just finished watching parts 1-4 (after seeing part v.) Disappointed there weren't more transformers in the mix, but I understand Nicely done, very interesting to see things in scale.
Another Gundam super is the Big Tray class "Land Battleship" from the Universal Century timeline, which literally goes Ratte in scale and uses Battleship turrets.
Since you are covering tanks from command and conquer mods, you could cover the Blackbear and/or the Manticore prototype tanks from the Rise of the Reds mod for command and conquer generals zero hour. Or any other tank from that mod since they're very well made. You could also cover the tank boss from stage 3 or stage 11 in skyforce reloaded, a game similar to what the last tank in this video was from. Also nice vid.
A few I can think of, if you do another sequel: -Stealth Tank (Command and Conquer) -Darkstorm (War Commander) -E-79 (Panzer Front series) -Blitztrager E-110 (World of Tanks) -Jagdpanzer Aureole (Panzer Front) -Anything/one from Shin Combat Choro-Q, really Well done on this one! You're quite talented with this software!
I had no idea that rock heads were the size of MARVs. Also, missing the Sand Lobster from Raiden Fighters 2. It's around the size of the loop master boss.
Man, I like this fictional tank series! For more tanks, here's the other tanks that I want you to cover: Manticore Heavy Tank (Battletech) The original Demolisher Tank (Battletech) Prowler Tank (Planetside 2) Guardian Tank (Red Alert 3) Mirage Tank (Red Alert 2/Yuri's Revenge) Trajan Heavy Grav Tank (Renegade Legion) Scorpion Tank (C&C Generals) Hammer Tank (Red Alert 3) Big Tray-class Landship (Mobile Suit Gundam)
Love to see some of the fictional tanks from 3do's Battletanx in one of these videos. Goliath was fun, and can likely deduce a weight since the abrams is in there and smaller than the goliath.
Love it. You're really churning these out. And it's fun watching you improve with each video. The models are looking better each time. Now we just need a world of tanks type game with all of these tanks in it. Some more to think about for the next one Landmaster - Starfox Fellblade - Warhammer 40000 Eldar Scorpion - Warhammer 40000 IS 8 ball - World of Tanks April Fools 2017 Mako - Mass Effect Any of the tanks from Battletanx or World Destruction League Land Carriers - Homeworld Deserts of Kharak Hydra Tank - MCU Centaur - Gears of War Pariah Tank - Gears of War Wolfenstein vehicles Doom Eternal tank Blackmare - Rogue Trooper Landram - Battlestar Galactica Pearly and the Chig tank - Space Above and Beyond Juggernaut and Land Leviathan - Rise of Legends
Correction: the Prism Tank in Red Alert 2 would not be under the Virgin Interactive Entertainment (publisher) name, but either under Electronic Arts (publisher) or preferably Westwood Studios (developer, also known as Westwood Pacific at time of release).
glad someone else pointed that out. was such a good game. same can also be said about the 7:15Devastator from dune 2, was a westwood/ea, not virgin games, if im recalling correctly.
I should point out that Natasha Romonov, the woman next to the Red Alert 2 Prism Tank, is from Red Alert 3. Then again, the Allied Mirage Tank from RA3 was a hybrid of the RA2 Prism Tank and the Mirage Tank. So I guess nothing is harmed.
A few more, such as the main fictional tanks seen in the old PS1 game, "Panzer Front" are worth looking at. Another one is the Nort 'Blackmare' tank from 2000AD's Rogue Trooper saga. Trouble with the different artists, was that they tended to draw their own versions of it. So there was never a proper looking design.
Might I add, the alternative forms of the Shagohod. What you showed in the video you showed it in was the "Larva" form. There's also a "Pupa" shagohod and a 3rd one I forget the name of.
Sad to see my fav tank, *T'au Empire Hammerhead Gunship* from 40k not in here, but at least 40k and Bolo haven't been left behind. I'd be careful incorporating walkers; now you're talking about a whole other branch of possible armored vehicles. Maybe a whole video dedicated to armored vehicle walkers?
I still await the appearance of Ratchet & Clank vehicles such as the Blargian Tanks from R&C1, Megacorp Hovertank from R&C2, and Landstalker from Gladiator, to name a few.
It would be nice, if you could include the PS2-Game „Seek & Destroy“ otherwise known as „Shin-Combat Choro-Q“ in this series. In this game tanks etc. are living individuals. There are some fictional tanks in this game. For example the „Q-Stein-Emperor“, who has three different forms/stages in his boss-fight. There are also some fictional aircraft and ships in this game. Check it out if you want to ;)
Sad to see that over 4 videos about fictional tanks not one tank from Brigador was shown, especially things like the Corvid tanks, the Leviathan or Mother's Love. Still cool videos despite that.
I was really hoping to see the Stretch Limo Cannon from Motorcity...or any of the 20~ish suggestions I gave last video... Atleast it included the Justice Department Tank.I wasn't actally aware ut was THAT big!
some repeats but glad to see the prism tank from Red alert 2, man it seems far better in terms of performance than the mirage tank from red alert 3, well for the fact the turret can turn and the mirage tank in 3 is a combination of the prism and mirage tank from 2.
I am shocked and greatly disappointed by the absence of any Bolo tanks of the Dinochrome Brigade on this list. I mean, the later models of those tanks were designated as "Continental Siege Units"! RIP Keith Laumer.
The Octopus Tank kind of bugged me because it looked barely functional; the bulk of the turrets on it don't seem to rotate without bumping each other and the rounded turrets means the guns have to elevate to fire at anything right in front of them. Most of the other tanks looked practical and decent but some of them were kind of "how does that work?" The one that bothers me the most is the Mega Tank from Advanced Wars; I figured that tank would be something like a 90-100 ton beast, but no it's in the same weight class as a school bus, meaning I could hit it with a train and destroy it. I guess that's why all the ground units in Advanced Wars can be killed by infantry
