Oh, Cori! I am often in awe of what you create. I love the way your mind works, and I can see how blessed your students are to have a teacher like you. I would have been so inspired to be your student. As it is, I am older than you, you truly inspire me. One of my projects coming up shortly is to create idea books for the series that you took the time to make for us. Thank you so much for sharing this fascinating beautiful book giving us enjoyment and heads full of ideas! While you used postage stamps, I am doing my book with a winter theme. For me, January is very much wintertime since it is only the second month into winter. However, where your book is now finished, I am still playing catch up! Blessings to you, Cori! You are such an inspiration to me. :-)
Nice ideas and great inspiration. You're genius. Now, I know what I am going to do with my pile of stamps. Thanks a lot for sharing your talents with us. 👍👍👍
Awesome, just love this. When I was young I collected stamps for a while and one year got a cloth bag that was full of stamps. I think it was called the big bag of stamps. My mom saved my collection and then my daughter played with it for a while. I found it in the garage and now I can use it! 👌
Thank you Cori. I loved that you went step by step to make it clear how you constructed these awesome stamp clusters. Blessings for chilly Northeastern Missouri.
I absolutely loved this. It’s a brilliant idea and you put your heart and soul into it. I too was a history major and I used to collect stamps years back so I I really appreciate what you did here. It’s a journal to treasure.💙
Such an incredible journal, Cori! Love all the stamp ideas! I, too, have bunches and am excited to try the master board. Thanks so much for sharing your inspiration and talent with all of us, my friend! Big, big hugs to you! ❤️
I'm certain you'll do some amazing things (well, more amazing things!) with postage stamps and I'm looking forward to seeing your master board. Okay, full disclosure. I'm mostly looking forward to seeing YOU!!! Big hugs right back to you and enjoy that balmy weather while it lasts!
I absolutely love this book with all the wonderful ways you utilized postage stamps, historical figures, vintage ephemera!!! Amazing & very inspiring! Thanks so very much
Oh Cori! What a fabulous video!!! Love your album and that it serves more than 1 purpose. The clusters were amazing! I couldn't believe how perfect your masterboard was. Thank you so much for the inspiration and sharing your ideas with us! Hugs and love.
Thank you Pat. I'm happy you enjoyed it and hope you are able to incorporate some of the postage stamps ideas into your own paper projects and journals 💕
Thank you for sharing these ideas. I sometimes struggle to use postage stamps. I love how this journal is an homage to your grandparents and history as well.
I enjoyed watching you create your postage stamp ephemera, love them. I really like stamps they have history and some fabulous colors. Your journal is amazing. Thanks for sharing.
Sometimes the history geek in me perks out 😊 I was blessed with fabulous grandparents and I look to them for inspiration on my relationship with my own grandkids 💕
Another beautiful creation! Thank you for sharing your creativity and amazing problem solving skills. You are a crafting inspiration and I look forward to every video you post. Than k you for making the time to create videos to share.
Once again another amazing video and journal!! You have such a great mind!! Pulling so much together in one place!!! Loved the family memories…💕💕 Thank you so much for sharing!! Those grandchildren are just so adorable!!! Looking forward to see where you take us on the next adventure!! I want to reserve my seat now!! 🥰🥰🥰
Hi Cori! I love working with postage stamps so I am always happy to see new ideas on how to use them. I loved hearing about your grandfather working for the CCC. And I love how you relate your makes to how they are personally significant to you, whether they remind you of a friend or a family member or whatever. Always enjoy watching you!
Thank you very much Carrie. I sometimes wonder if folks would prefer not to have the personal bits thrown in the videos, but that is who I am, so they pop in from time to time. I appreciate your feedback and your kind comments. Happy stamp creating to you!
Just beautiful, Cori. I love how you combined the history of what each stamp represents and your own history and that of your grandparents to help you along with the ideas for each page. So inspiring!😀💖
This is a phenomenal idea. The use of the stamps and their story in history is wonderful. I have a big collection of stamps and this would be a great use to focus on some history. I like the way the pages are all the same paper and numbered. Thanks for a terrific share of creativity and history.
You’ve had lots of fun, Cori! I enjoyed seeing how you incorporated stamps or how you based the pieces on stamps. Great ideas! Your journal is a real treasure featuring so many historical aspects and events. Thank you for sharing it with us. 😀💞
Thank you Keryn. I really enjoyed playing with t he stamps a nd trying t o listen to what they had to say. I can only imagine the journey's some of them have been on!
My goodness, your stamp collection and creativity are INCREDIBLE! I've recently discovered three large ziploc bags full of canceled postage stamps that my late mother had been collecting. Now I know how I can use them -- thank you for your video!
Wow Cori! I have had a large collection of postage stamps sit and stare at me when i "oh hum" put them back in the album and away for a few more years until now! I've been collecting since childhood and never found a way to show them, or really enjoy them except in a boring stamp catalogue. I am so excited with your fantastic creation for the stamps, because now I see your beautiful project and have so much inspiration! I love it! Now it seems you found a magical way to do justice to lovely stamps-BRAVO! Going to try your lovely project, thank you!
Oh Linda. Your response warms my heart. I have a passion for ENJOYING older things. It always breaks my heart when folks store away their treasures, rarely if ever pulling them out to use and enjoy them. While that works for some, I want to see and enjoy the cool things. So, I do. Thank you and happy creating to you!
When I think of all the old lace curtains and tablecloths I threw out through the years... sure could have used them hundreds of time since started journals. Love your work. All of it!
Thank you Nancy. I had to laugh as I did the same thing! I was watchening (watching but mostly listening) to Wendy's video and I had to stop and make the notepad, because the idea was in my brain. Super easy but lots of options! Happy creating!
Oh I loved this video. I too have stamps from my mother. I love vintage postmarks as much as the stamps themselves. I never thought about making a master board with them. Great idea. The January journal you made was just so creative and interesting. Thanks for all your ideas.
I made stamp clusters with the series of stamps about the Bill of Rights. I called them my Freedom Cards. I also used TH tickets and cancellation plus stamps. Instead of fabric I used a scrap of Gelli print. So fun.
Dear Cori. I watch you regularly and enjoy seeing you come up with so many fun ways to work with paper. I have always loved stamps but when I went looking for ideas on how to use stamps in junk journals, I didn't come across too much. I have so many stamps I had to be creative to figure out how to use them up. I edge some pages with stamps going all down the edge. I use them on envelopes I make. I use them in all sorts of collages, clusters, and paperclip clusters as you have done. I even take graph paper and glue down all sorts of stamps in a theme ( like castles), then fold the paper in half and leave the other side blank for writing. I even use laminating sheets from the dollar store and laminate stamps and make stuff with the laminated stamps. Those sheets don't require a laminating machine so it's inexpensive and does not require a machine. People are fascinated by all the cool stamps I find and add to my journals. Thank you for the creative ideas you shared with us and now I have even more ways to use my stamps.
Thank you Camille, both for the kind comments and for all the fabulous ideas you have shared on more ways to use those amazing postage stamps. I will give them a go!
Spectacular!...I absolutely love what you've done...so talented...and I appreciate the personalization you added...very interesting history...much I can relate to as well...keep up the fabulous work!...
Thank you Sandy. One of my challenges to myself this year is to incorporate more of my family, history and stories into my journals. This is my attempt at meeting t hat goal.
Oh my gosh! I absolutely love your postage stamp journal! I have an affinity for postage stamps, so now I have to make myself one. Some great embellishing ideas too. Saving this video for future reference.
Thank you Pam. I really enjoyed looking at and thinking about different ways to use the stamps and I’m determined to incorporate them more often in future journals. Happy creating!
Thanks you. I'm sure most don't want or need an entire journal devoted to postage stamps, but I'm hopeful that people can pick and choose bits that work for them 😊
Hi Cori! Wow the cover turned out amazing and every page was had super cool ideas. Thanks for the flip through I enjoyed it and getting to see your family. Hope your weekend was good, take care! 💜
Thank you Maria. I’m finding it interesting that I’ll look up information about a specific stamp and I find HUGE price differences between two stamps that look identical. I’m wondering why that is?
As a stamp collector I have thoroughly enjoyed your journal. I subscribed and am now going to make a couple of masterboards. Thank you for sharing such an inspirational journal. Your choice of paper, your designs, the simple stamping, the vintage ephemera and antique/ vintage stamps gave such an air of authenticity to the pages, Perfection
I love using postage stamps on my collages! True story - I started youtube to keep me company while I sort and mail out the next set of ATC swaps. The theme for January? Postage Stamps! Too funny. It must have been kismet. Squirrel!
Great ideas for using postage stamps! I make PS clusters all the time, they are so handy for embellishing a journal or gift tag. I also use postage stamps for greeting cards, usually themed by color with other old pieces of paper. The one staple collage is a great way to make all kinds of embellishments, just a fun challenge for yourself to use up scraps. I am going to have to make a master board with all my very colorful, newer stamps - those are the ones that never seem to get used in my artwork. Thanks for sharing your ideas!
Absolutely love this video…Your unique use of postage stamps..plus Real Ephemera ..Most inspiring..as I also have lots of stamps.. Thanks..looking forward to seeing your other journals too..Hope to try making a master board tomorrow..
You amaze me and you are indeed 😢a very important “prompt” to me to remind me to get off my, pardon me, butt and create something!!! You are the best! And thank YOU for being you!!!!
Your creativity never ceases to amaze me Cori! I really enjoyed every page and every explanation and story behind them. Gorgeous family photos too. I love the look of page 18/19. I'm off to dig out my postage stamps. Much love. xx
Thank you Sue, and I hope you are continuing to improve. I love the spine of 18/19 and will absolutely do that again... though perhaps in a regular journal. Happy postage stamp creating to you!
I was going through some of my stamps and I asked my husband if shouldn't we look up to see if they might be worth something!!!!!!! Some of beautiful! I don't think they put out works of art like they used to!!!!! Your January journal is FABULOUS!!!!!! I love it! My dad was in the CCCs also like you grandfather!!!! He told me they put out sprigs of Kudzu back when they thought it would help with soil erosion only to find that it didn't work, but it was very invasive and too late to do anything about it!!!! Thank you for all of your shares with us!!!!!!
Love that CCC story. Life is about trial and error, so I'm glad they learned not to do that again! Smart to look and see if they're valuable... I need to be more careful about that!
Cori, what’s wonderful journal! Your video is perfect timing! My husband recently brought me an entire bin of postage stamps from the flea market. Now, thanks to your video, I have a multitude of ideas on how to use them! Your talents amaze me!
Loved seeing your postage stamp ephemera, my cousin lived in U.S.A. Since age 17 and we corresponded all those years ….. I’ve kept every stamp she sent…. She passed last December 2021 from COVID, age 71 so very sad, miss her so much she was a very generous lady who missed her homeland… I have so many beautiful stamps from her and have made a book to store the stamps but like your idea better so Thankyou have a new book to make now ….. an ideas book full of my cousin and her precious stamps…. Thankyou Cori love your ideas 💜
Cori, I saw your master board of stamps in another video and I made a small one myself. That very day I went to an estate sale and bought a new stamp holding book and a BUNCH of stamps. It took most of the day to set-up the album with pages sections for continents and then countries. With stamps from 40-50 countries and many "head" stamps, I made a small master board and cut it into pockets. The collaging was fun, but now you've given me so many ideas for so many stamps I now have! Thank you for inspiring me! P.s. My next project is using the beautiful animal stamps. Probably will go in a nature journal some how.
This is so cool! I worked at the USPS for,27 years and LOVE stamps! Thank you for highlighting real stamps in a junk journal! I thoroughly enjoyed this!
Bless you and thank you for doing what is often an underappreciated position. Those stamps tell such amazing stories that I felt many of them needed their own special places 😊
Very useful to have a variety of ideas all based on one theme - this type of tutorial is good for ideas when making a journal as a gift for someone specific - as we could swap stamps for pics from magazines (eg for sewing or gardening etc) to make the base collage too. Thanks a lot.
I so enjoyed your video. I love journaling ideas of course, but the history of the the periods from which the stamps came is fascinating. Your journal is a treasure. Thank you for a peak into your history. 😊
I have just come across this video. I got a whole bunch of stamps from all round the World at our local charity shop. Most are used with bits envelope still stuck to them. I just knew I had buy them but not 100% sure what to do with them. A masterboard is a brilliant idea. I have made a junk journal and altered book but to be honest they weren't good. I'm not one to give up and might just take inspiration from you again and do a book of ideas first. Thank you for sharing your ideas.
Thank you Nikki and progress, not perfection. Each item you create will allow you to practice and improve! Your stamps sound delightful and I hope you have fun using them!
Cori, I enjoyed every minute of the flip-through and explanation of construction and thought processes of this journal! I'm doing Meg's JJJ prompts, too, and am a bit ahead, but a few pages left to fill. I just see what happens, what ephemera appears in real life, or what kind of inspiration I get for the prompts as we progress through the month. Your interpretation of the prompts is so inspiring, and educational! I plan to add a few stamps from my collection after seeing what you've done! Can you give me a link for the construction of the book? I would love to see that as well. Hugs!
Thank you and excellent. I found thinking about the prompts and what they meant to me very beneficial. I made a similar type spine for the scrapbuster idea book, where I sewed each page set into the spine. I don't have a video showing exactly how I made this one, but they a re similar. Happy creating!
Fabulous Cori, that journal is amazing with lots of ideas and really love the personal touches you have added xo I was playing with stamps last night too, I am inspired to make some of your clusters now!
I so enjoyed that Cori, a walk through history seeing how you incorporated stamps into every prompt. Thank you for sharing 😊
Thank you Gaye. It was enjoyable to think about the stamps and their stories as I made pieces using them 😊

Great idea Dawn! I don't have many of the newer, more colorful stamps, but agree that would be a fun way to use them!
Absolutely love this video…Your unique use of postage stamps..plus Real Ephemera ..Most inspiring..as I also have lots of stamps..
Thanks..looking forward to seeing your other journals too..Hope to try making a master board tomorrow..
Hello Ruth and thank you! I hope you were able to create a master board and that you enjoyed the process!
Love this journal, very creative 💕
Thank you Mary!

Thank you Gabriele and I hope you get some useful ideas!
You amaze me and you are indeed 😢a very important “prompt” to me to remind me to get off my, pardon me, butt and create something!!! You are the best! And thank YOU for being you!!!!
Awwww Jeanie, thank you. That? Just made me smile.
Very good ideas 💡 love it 😊 thank you for sharing
Theola
Thank you! 😊
Cori great ideas, love your stamp journal.
Thanks so much Carmen!
This was so interesting! So many great ideas and inspiration. And I really enjoyed the history you shared. Thanks so much!
Glad you enjoyed it! Thank you, Heather 😊
I enjoyed this so much!! I have an obscene amount of postage stamps! I will definitely be making a masterboard now. TFS!! Hugs, Emily
Thank you Emily and dang, you are in for a good time! That was relaxing and fun and rewarding to create. Happy creating!

Anytime! 🤗
You are too kind, Lonna. Thank you!
@@CoriDahmen so glad I found you, you are such an inspiration to me 🥰
Cori, I saw your master board of stamps in another video and I made a small one myself.
Oh, lucky find!!! I bet the animal stamps are fantastic! I'm glad you found the video to be helpful 😊
Glad it was helpful. Thank you Sue!
I so enjoyed your video. I love journaling ideas of course, but the history of the the periods from which the stamps came is fascinating. Your journal is a treasure. Thank you for a peak into your history. 😊
I really enjoyed pulling buts of the past into t his journal, so I'm thrilled to hear t hat you enjoyed it. Thank you 😊
Sooo much inspiration! Thank you!
You are so welcome! I bet you have some cool bits from your work. Have fun!
I loved your postage stamp journal
Thank you. My journal shelf is looking a whole lot more like an idea book shelf... but it's fun.
I love your January journal!
Thank you Susan 😊
LOL! Be careful Kerry, those little buggers are quite addictive. Now that this task is complete I'm moving on to my next idea....
