He could just not be fluent in that language. If the slaves of his time spoke a different language than he did, he might be able to understand and speak it, but not be fluent in it so little mistakes creep in here and there. A man of his high station would probably avoid speaking the language of a lowly slave as much as he can, so it'd make sense that he wouldn't be fluent in it.
Much of it comes from his station; since he is a high priest of a major god, he would have to understand who's talking to him to give blessings or daily prayer. But it also shows that much of his fluency comes from only a business standpoint of making the masses happy so they wouldn't try to revolt rather than him caring or wanting to learn so he wouldn't talk like an old friend.
I watched this movie first time when i was a kid, basecly 20 years ago, since then i have watched it over 500 times, one of my absolute favorite movies. Maybe its not best effects, but the story and actors and the fact that everything happening in ancient egypt is wonderful! great movie

He says: "I can use you (female version of you), and the rewards will be great".
Funny thing is that Imhotep's Hebrew was a little off (either the fault of the director, or made purposeful since Imhotep perhaps was rusty with the language or maybe he was calling Benny his bitch).
It's hard to hear, but he later angerly says "Was the other holies?!"
Maybe its not best effects, but the story and actors and the fact that everything happening in ancient egypt is wonderful! great movie
Classic of all time
Fun fact: In the german version Beni has the same voice like Spongebob. XD
Fun fact : in the Italian dub, Beni has the same voice as Ed from Ed, Edd n Eddy hahaha
Even though its really just an opinion, I trust you, and that's legit one of the funniest trivia facts I've read in a while 😂
My favorite film of all time.
Rachel Weisz. What a woman!
I use to freak out in these movie when I was a child especially the bug going inside the guys body
Me too
That was disgusting 😕
This movie scared the crap outta me when I was a kid lol
Beni is kind of a As***le, but he was the only one who saved him self with a strategy and without weapons 😂. And only one who found a way to profit from the bad situation.
The voice of mummy like Nile
If I turned around at 1:24 I would have shit my pants
0:52-1:05
The language of the slaves. I may have use for you. And the rewards...will be great.
She's so beautiful 😍💖
Who?
Imhotep ? 😶
@@benigabor7300 Benni
Why are you gay?
Please Just Stup it! it's 1999 not Pc Shit
I gotta say I was surprised as how quickly Imhotep adapted to the technology of the 1920's
The language of the slaves 😂😂😂
How is that funny
Lmao that's hilarious 😂😭nobody can out do the 1999 mummy
Prince Imhotep?! Wasn’t he the Priest?
It’s not like Benny would have known about him prior to his awakening. He probably called Imhotep “prince” out of flattery since Benny was promised gold for siding with him.
This movie took me on a roller-coaster!
the only time in human history when being a Jew actually saved someone from dying
Jew people from WWII: You think we being Saved?
✡🛐
thats fire
That was kinda toxic :)
A little less joking and this movie would have been a true legend . Too much levity just kills the mood , the suspense .
Love the part when the 4 mummies generals chasing them scene, those 4 looks badass
Knowing my Egyptian history, I knew he was safe when he held up the Star of David
Imhotep; "The language of the slaves !"
This always makes me laugh for some reason.
Imhotep ain't no anti-semite
Some of the finest aging CG is the earliest, because they knew they needed to art direct it properly and actually have dramatic scenes.
1:08 🥹My prince
So now Beni made friends with Imhotep, which he treated him nicely than Rick treated him like a bully hurting him
Well he did abandon Rick to killed in the desert, remember?
This movie was and is completely awesome
even imhotep knew Jews love gold
Why is everyone calling Imhotep a Prince all of a sudden? Wasn't it made clear he's a Priest?
when i was a kid i always thought rick told her "contact terminator" like call the terminator to come kill him lmao
He said contract terminated
@@andrewstephens9523 yea I know
I love how he knew to offer gold as soon as he saw the jewstar
Lol, mummy about to kill dude
Dude pulls out star and speaks Hebrew
Mummy: "damn dude, didn't know you were chill like that"
One thing I really like about this film is that the main characters didn't stay to "fix what we broke" (sure the medjai did but they're cultish nutcases). Nope they GTFO like any normal person would.
Prince Imhotep nice 😃
The best movie series for me. I watched this movie when I was a kid and I was so scared when I watched it.
Me too.
By 2029 it will be the 30th anniversary of this movie and I believe that on the nights of the anniversary they should make this movie in 3D. And everytime I see Brendan Fraser I keep thinking back to the day when I met him last year in Raleigh he will always be a good part of my life and I praise him for his return and hope to see him again in The Mummy 4 and this time they better not cancel it and one more thing they better bring Rachel Weisz back to the screen because I miss the original Evelyn O'Connell the actress from the third movie doesn't have the same courage and dedication as Rachel Weisz
Loved this movie! Second one was pretty good too. Third one was crap
