I do not war make-up all the time but when I do it makes me feel lovely and makes the occasion more special..
My grandchildren do not like me wearing makeup….so I tend not to use it that often.
Your make-up looks great. Meant totally complimentary very appropriate for your age…( hope you know what I mean)
I’m in my early 60’s and it’s hard to look good without looking too made up!

Hi Jen, I just discovered your channel. You are a gem! I am 62, and have been having thyroid issues- wonky numbers and such. I have taken thyroid meds for 30 years. My nutritionist told me to stop taking them 4 days before the test to get an accurate blood level. I actually ended up not taking them for 8 days, for a variety of reasons, and have actually found I feel better! More energy, sleep well and even lost a few pounds, I am shocked! I wonder if my thyroid has leveled itself out like yours has. I would love not to take any meds any more. How did you figure out you no longer needed your meds? Keep your real self coming- you are a delight to listen to.
I haven’t done a lot of research on it but since many of us started developing thyroid issues when we had our babies it kind of makes sense?

Omg Jennifer! I’m still getting over the summer of 2021, a whole year & a half ago, when our oldest announced her gender transition & moved out (she’s doing great, so thank goodness for that!) our younger daughter was supposed to move home for a bit, but got a house with friends instead (also doing great, yay!) and one of our cats disappeared forever. Not yay, at all.
Oh right, same exact time I retired from an 18 yr job that was very meaningful to me. Whew.
Kids & cats have no freaking idea what we might go through.
Got a very cute paint by numbers kit ages ago, it’s coming out shortly, can’t wait.

When you said that your son was moving away I instinctively put my hand to my heart with yealled “ouch!” I’m hoping you are doing okay in your grief and that the adjustment is more easeful than painful. The thought of my kids leaving someday is a punch in the gut that I dread. You are a great model for doing hard things, during hard times. Sending warm thoughts your way. ❤

Enjoyed the video. I definitely need to work on my makeup/skin care. I am 51 and could get by with next to none but now feel like I need something to even out skin tone.
The kind of grief that one experiences when saying goodbye to young adult children is not something that's easy to describe, and only those of us who have done so really know what it's like. It's a incomplete grief as the person is still very much alive. The mourning (at least for me) is in part for the phase of life that is passing that I so valued. At any rate, I'm right in there with you (age 51, empty nester, but also solo/single).

Just so you know, you've been an inspiration to me, today. Thank you. I'm going to go dye my hair, do some skincare, pack up the tree and get some errands done. I had bronchitis and everything was put on hold after the holidays. I've been wallowing. Time to go do all the things and try to be sparkly. 👍 Hugs to you with your adjustment to your son moving. My boys are sophomore and 8th grade. I’ve already started to prep myself for incase they go away to college and after. ❤ it’s so hard to think about or consider since we are so close. But I love being inspired and motivated by you! ❤

I also feel like I can feel make-up on my face and *I* think I look weird, not myself. I will do it for special events, but other wise it’s lotion, sunscreen, powder, and mascara. I have suuuuper uneven skin tone and you can see it all but, oh well. The people that love me love me and strangers opinions don’t matter.
I got the larger version of that bag at the outlets in Dawsonville. I hope you love yours as much as I love mine.

Looks like a full week’s worth to me! What happened to Dazzle dry? You influenced me on that and I’ve been using it for 1.5 years! If my nails are bare I mindlessly pick and bite when I’m stressed. Doing then regularly really helps with that. I’m sure you’ll see your son plenty but I can imagine how that must feel. Keep taking care of yourself!
So I still have it but I’m so lazy and I don’t have the patience to let it warm up!

My oldest child moved only four hours away a year ago and I’m still upset over it. Yes, it’s not that far, but I was used to having her 20 minutes away and she came over three times a week. I usually see her once every six weeks, but I still haven’t gotten over the fact that she’s not just right down the street.

Love these vlog videos! Quick question... why two moisturizers? I realize the one is tinted, but if also a moisturizer, why use the elemis as well?
I find it really helps. I have very dry skin and the two products really do help.
16:31 - LISTEN...Dior Lip Glow is cose too the only luxury beauty product I've ever bought that I've felt is really worth it. The colour range is excellent, it's moisturizing without being waxy or sticky, the colour lasts pretty well, and it doesn't leave a yucky tint/residue as it wears off. It also doesn't melt in the Florida heat during our WDW trips. I have like 5 of them now, and EVERY time I put it on I think about how superior it is to every other tinted balm I've ever used and **I regret nothing** ;')

I have always said you can tell how stressed I am by looking at my hands! I have been trying to be better to them and quit doing gel or dip manicures and keeping even a sheer polish on them keeps me from messing with my nails and nail beds.
So far it seems to be working and my nails have been the healthiest they have been in a Long time! Comforting to know I am not on this journey alone!

I really enjoyed this video, Jen! Just one question - I hate using makeup pencils that require sharpening because you have to have the exact right sharpener and it seems as though so much of the product is wasted. Is your JR stick any different?
You do have to sharpen it and I have the sharpener I can’t remember if I paid extra for it or if it came with it?

Ive been on thryroid meds for 40 years. Were you able to just stop meds to see what happens or wean off gradually? Thanks for sharing!
It was a very long road and for several years I had to go in every six weeks for blood work - my thyroid was all over the place. It finally stabilized and my doctor had me try going off completely for six weeks and I’ve been stable ever since.
