Steph was playing hurt. Draymond got suspended in a pivotal game 5 for something that lebron instigated. Bogut, their rim protector, got injured in game 5. Iggy was playing with a bad back. Giannis, on the other hand, played incredibly for the entire series and had plenty of iconic moments as well. That 50-pt game was a marvel to watch.

Competition matters. The Warriors were ranked 1st in about every team stat two years running and already being called the GREATEST team ever. Giannis won in a year where both finals teams were the guys who didnt lose a big teammate every round.
@@geordiejones5618 So basically, you support Giannis being first cause both teams were healthy and Phoenix went up 2-0 and Giannis dropped 40+ 3 times with a 50 point closeout?
Kawhis 2019 run is too low imo cos you can’t just look at the fact his competition was supposedly ass, you have to look at his team also. They were not favoured even with KD missing and for good reason, far from being ass the Warriors were and are a championship calibre team even without KD, with three HoFers and a supposed top ten player of all time. He dragged a downright average team (by finals standards) to victory over them. Whereas you have Lebron putting up stats over an even worse team in Miami or Steph putting up stats when Boston was not even doubling him way too high imo.
I feel like you are giving kawhi a little too much credit at the expense of the raptors and understating how depleted the warriors were. Van Fleet kept hitting big shot after big shot, siakam was schooling green in the post, and lowry, ibaka, danny green, and gasol had solid 2-way play. This was a team that finished with the 2nd best record in the nba with kawhi missing more than a quarter of the season. On the other hand, the top heavy warriors didn't have Klay for crucial points of the series and had an unparalleled finals collapse with 2 big psyche blows with back to back major KD and Klay injuries. Steph was out there with three non shooters in dray, past his prime iggy, past his prime and recovering cousins and not much else. This version of the warriors were undoubtedly and definitively outmatched by the healthier raptors team and by no means were championship caliber without Klay. The reason that the talking heads picked the warriors was because KD was projected to return in the series and Klay was projected to be healthy. I would agree that Lebron's win against the heat should be lower than this since he did face a similarly injured team, but I wouldn't put kawhi's run over any others that were ranked higher. This championship was definitely impactful as it ended the KD super team and gave Canada their first ring, and kawhi was spectacular but performance-wise I think it was ranked appropriately. Also side note, why is it "putting up stats" when it comes to Lebron and Steph when that case can be made for any of these guys on this list?
@@phoenixplayz1581 exactly. people disrespect that team and claim kawhi carried them when he had a good supporting and as a raptors fan it wasn`t just kawhi

People forget that Curry was the 18 finals MVP until he had a poor game 3, but he closed the Cavs with 37 in game 4. The media had a KD bias and a KD vs Lebron narrative to push. Curry should’ve had 3 FMVPs by now. In the other I think Lebron’s performance in 2016 is the best I’ve ever seen.
Rachel Nichols literally voted KD then said "Hey Curry, how's it feel not getting the FMVP again?" And there was another quote with her like "LeBron said KD was the difference maker."
2016 finals is extremely overrated. To come back from down 3-1 you have to lose 3 of the first 4 games. Sweeping or even winning in 6 is more impressive. Like why are we giving points for almost losing.

As much as people want to hate on the bubble, that battle between LeBron and Jimmy Butler in the finals was insane and I respect you for putting Bron's bubble FMVP in this top 5 because its incredibly underrated he was going off same with Butler
Don't forget that Giannis f*cked up his knee in the Hawks series. Doctors said he would return in 1-2 months but he came back within a week. He said in a Greek interview that he was in a lot of pain during the first 2 games especially but he pushed through, just like his parents did when they were working to support their family. Giannis is just different
Something that I feel like often gets overlooked for some reason is that Giannis had that finals performance just a week or two after hyperextending his knee. The man *HYPEREXTENDED* his fucking knee, and just a week or two later dropped a fifty piece on one of the league’s best defenses. I could see the argument for LeBron or Giannis being #1, but I agree and think that Giannis deserves that top spot.
I’m a huge Giannis fan, but I got LeBron’s finals series over his. I understand how dominant Giannis was, but that suns team wasn’t too crazy, just below that Warriors team at max, and coming back from being down 3-1 is ridiculous. LeBron did have Kyrie with him, but Middleton was dang near just as good a running mate. I’d also say the bucks were better than the cavs as a whole outside of their respective stars. Both are top ten finals series and top five closeout game performances ever, but I’d give the edge to LeBron for sure.
If you have 2016 1st you value the moment more than the performance. It's fair, but Giannis was better at everything except passing than everyone here.
Based on the injury giannis sustained, that would make him number 1. I'm not sure any other nba players would have come back that soon from that type of injury , especially in today's nba .
Lebron in miami heat was at his peak. Lebron prime offensively and defensivlely was the heat. Lebron was also more efficient from the field and better free throws. The only thing 2nd stint cavs have over heat lebron was assists and rebounds. Lebron james in 2014-2015, 2015-2016, 2016-2017 regular season are not better than his 4 regular seasons with the heat. 2. Durant did it against a terrible defense and LeBron put up the same production as him in that series against a much tougher defense and a much better team overall in the GSW

Ngl the clips you showed of 2013 lebron showed that the spurs defense looked bad
Nah they’re defense was elite
I think #1 is a toss-up between giannis and lebron (2016). Lebron had the edge narrative-wise: coming back from 3-1 hole, bringing cleveland its first championship, prodigal son returns and delivers, beating a 73-9 team, the block on iggy, etc. However, i simply can't ignore that the warriors were hobbled coming into the finals.

You will never heae those Warriors talk down on Lebron win or lose after that because it was a singular achievement. Giannis won in a year where both finals teams were the guys who didnt lose a big teammate every round.
Too many things had to happen for Lebron to win. I agree with Giannis being #1.
@@geordiejones5618 So basically, you support Giannis being first cause both teams were healthy and Phoenix went up 2-0 and Giannis dropped 40+ 3 times with a 50 point closeout?

Agree with these rankings. Giannis is #1
Agree with the top 3. Would switch 4 and 5. Crazy to think I still don’t see highlights of the 2016 finals. lol
He was hurt
lets not pretend Lowry and Siakam didnt help him that series also FVV went berserk Ibaka had huge moments same for Gasol

Lebron played insane defense and playmaked way better while still being crazy efficient. KD had Steph klay and Draymond also which made his job a lot easier. KD even faced a trash defense while lebron have a good one, with or without bam. LeBron simply played better
@@talksmack4737 that miami defense without bam wasn't the same. The drop from Bam to Olynyk/ Meyers Leonard was very noticable. And let's not forget AD played at a different level in the bubble too. Something that I feel like often gets overlooked for some reason is that Giannis had that finals performance just a week or two after hyperextending his knee.
