    THESE ARE TEMPORARY BIRTHING CAGES!!! I've been getting a lot of nasty comments about the cage sizes. These cages are small to protect the babies, and are not what I normally house my mink in. Please watch this video about my regular enclosures.... ua-cam.com/video/nKdks0pHS1Y/v-deo.html

    The old wives tale is mostly said so children don't disturb the mother and the babies. The only time I've seen a mother attempt to abandon a baby in a video was in Africa, where a baby Gazelle was completely covered in dirty mud and didn't smell familiar to her Mom.

      You have to act on new information! Immediately! Dont get near minks, not even juveniles! I hope you are aware of the proven fact that minks and Covid are a lethal combination. Minks are very prone to get infected with Covid, that´s one thing BUT the really really bad news are that they ALWAYS will pass on the virus in a mutated form. This has a physiological reason, they simply cannot pass it on in its original form. For this reason, Denmark, in the beginning of the pandemic, when they discovered that minks were wildly mutating Covid they ordered to put down all mink farms in the entire nation. That was 18 million mink! I hope that you and the your government will be just as responsible. When so many animals are together and all produces mutations it statistically sooner or later will produce one that have potential to kill in minutes. Please act on this information and pass it on to anyone that keeps minks today! If you have not heard about this before and have questions, please ask and I will try to respond.
      Denmark has thus gone from having the most farmed mink per inhabitant to having no mink farming allowed at all. Denmark did this to protect the world. WHAT will YOUR country do to protect the world from covid mutations coming from mink!?

    Wow some ppl trying to argue with a man who RAISES MINK & MOST LIKELY HAS HIS LIFE REVOLVE HIS MINK & CARING FOR THEM! All he did here was simply check the babies! No chords wrapped around them, no dead on arrival babies, & just make sure they are overall healthy & making noise! Idk if anyone has ever had any experience with hamsters, skinny pigs, Guinea pigs, or even rabbits but if you don't separate the babies from the mom & dad they will eat their young & it's never a pretty sight! So since we all come here to watch & learn about Mink & this man obviously CARES FOR ALL HIS MINK WITH THE UPMOST LOVE! He isn't getting them out to play with them & touch them & make them all smell like human he just checked on them & made sure they were A.) all alive & B.) all healthy!

    • @AlbertoMartinez765

      I'm betting in nature half don't make it, when you have animals that have large litters its because there's a high mortality rate.

    • @anonanonymous8397

      It's because in nature their mortality rate is very high.

    • @lykos832f5
      @lykos832f5 6 років тому +4

      It’s because some of the babies will die before, during, or immediately after birth. And in the wild, some of the surviving babies might be snatched by predators. They have pretty high mortality rates.

      ?? Nature?? These are farm bred you think farmers don't check their chickens, cows, horses etc...lol..their can be defects and problems with the umbilical cord which he explains if you had bothered to watch the video. Ask any Dog or Cat breeder how long they wait to check their litters.

    Why do people have to be unpleasant in their commentary? YOU are so much more of a mink expert than any of us out here - I'm positive you know what you are doing. Because I'm NOT knowledgeable about mink, I didn't know if this was the proper size box or not; but because I know you ARE knowledgeable about mink, I figured you knew what you were doing, so I didn't question. I am impressed with your whole set-up. (BTW, new sub). Keep on teaching us, I'm interested in learning. Congrats on the litter of kits.

      NO, he and other mink farmes have to act on new information! Immediately!
