My favorite spot! I could sit there all day and just enjoy the view!
The explorer map is truly a work of art. I think I'll look at it again.
A true gem of the Magic Kingdom! Let the kids burn off some energy, get away from the crowds, do some exploring and get some new views of attractions from across the Rivers of America!
You called it right.
I agree! I would go there a lot more if I wasn’t always in such a rush when at the Magic Kingdom lol. Thanks for watching as always 😃
True
I’ve been wanting you to do this video. This is one attraction we’ve never visited in all of our trips. Thank you 😊
I’m glad I finally was able to film it! This was my first time back on the island in a few years and I really enjoyed it! Thanks for watching as always Amy 😃
I havent been here on the island in a long time. You get some great views and could easily spend an hour here. My favorite is the Fort with the animatronic ppl and animals. So cool.
Yep definitely! I really love the views of BTM and the Haunted Mansion specifically. Thanks for watching as always Andrew!
I'm going to miss this place. Great video.
That place was so neat to visit when I was younger.
4 Thumbs Up (I borrowed two...)
Enjoyed your tour of this special place.
I'm nearly 70, and I love this attraction. Reasons:
1. CLASSIC Disney, timeless, no need to change or tear down
2. Something different with a beautifully "landscaped" set of islands. I love the "hill" on the first island, where one can see a mountain stream cascading down the hill.
3. Fort Langhorn, a bit of nostalgia from the past. I have a somewhat family tradition there I will email you about with pictures.
4. Barrell bridge (fun)
5. Escape tunnel from the fort, two caves
I never get tired of this attraction...
Thank you for providing the tour, and God Bless!
That is so kind of you Ken! I am also so glad Disney has decided to keep Tom Sawyer Island around. Areas like this are extremely underrated and also really does keep the magic of old WDW alive. I did see your email come in as I was out, and will check it out & get back to you soon! Thank you so much as always 😃
We’ve been to MK several times. We’ve never done this, Swiss family tree house, riverboat, hall of presidents, country bear jamboree or carousel of progress! We will rectify that in September.👍🏴
Those are all some great classics for sure! Definitely do them if you have the time. Thanks for watching Aaron! 😃
Wow! I loved that even more than I expected (and I expected to like it ;-) ! Beautiful work as always. I love that you enjoy exploring the "little stuff" as well as the full parks, etc. A gem is right. I haven't visited TSI since my kids we little and it's still a charmer. Thanks!
Thanks so much Broose! This place really is a gem and also a very underrated part of the Magic Kingdom in my opinion
I have always enjoyed Tom Sawyer Island! It’s different than anything else at the parks and is a great way for kids to burn some energy and not wait in lines. And if you’re lucky enough to grab a chair down at the water, it’s just perfect!
Yep that’s true! I’ve always thought Tom Sawyer Island was pretty underrated. Thanks for watching as always 😃
Over some 30 years, TSI is one of the first I return to. There is a magic here which is true to the Walt's vision. It features in my books and it's a great place to meet with Walt himself. Try it late in the day. Love the video, thanks so much.
Those loud wolves across the river were definitely good advertising for the Haunted Mansion!
Another great video capturing amazing vistas around the river and the steamboat Mark Twain…wow. As we’re from Mark Twain Country in Upstate NY, we can’t wait to walk the island again. Also, if the railroad ever runs again we could “railfan” WDW Rsilroad
Thanks so much as always! Seeing the boat go by while on the island has always been so cool for me. Can’t wait for the railroad to be back too! 😃
What an relaxing and fun exploring TOM sawyer island. This is an under appreciation attractions. Can’t wait to explore it myself. Hi from Canada 🇨🇦
🛶Fabulous! Huck missed you. It is the same but different than DL's(kinda has food at times)! Great paths & who doesn't love bridges (what? not the whole barrel bridge lol) Hope it brought back some good memories considering it's been years! Thx billions
Yep that’s very true! I’ve always enjoyed Tom Sawyer Island but unfortunately my trips here are always rushed, and I just never make it over there now. I was gonna go through the entire barrel bridge but my knees were not having it that day haha. Thanks so much Liz😃
Wow, I haven't been out there since I was very young. I can't even remember it. Thank you for sharing this, it is LOVELY and this is the perfect spot to take my MIL next time she visits MK with us. I never make the island a priority but I sure will now.
No problem at all Brooke! Definitely take a trip to the island next time you visit if you can! I always thought it was an underrated part of the Magic Kingdom, and it’s a great way to escape the crowds too! Thanks for watching 😃
Wonderful job
Thanks so much Amanda!
We went there Christmas 2019 and hit TS Island. Had a great view of the parade. A very relaxing part of a busy, wonderful day! It’s a great way to get some peace and quiet amongst the hustle and bustle. Thanks for posting.
Terrific
Thanks so much Andrew!
Didn’t know this was a thing until today we just stumbled upon it, in 15 years never knew this existed, what a fun little island
It's been awhile since I've been there, thank you for going there and filming it, maybe saying taking one for the team, lol.
No problem Dennis! It’s been a few years since I was last here, but not because I don’t like it! My trips to the Magic Kingdom are always rushed lately, and I just never make it over there. It was really nice to be back! Thanks so much as always 😃
One of the very first places I head to first day at the MK. Walt live here you know ! This is true Disney and all part of the magic jigsaw
This is amazing and beautiful!! I’ve never been there before. It’s one of the places I want to go visit
when or if I do go to WDW in Florida. I remember reading about it in one of the Kingdom Keepers books.
Wonderful video my friend +👍🔔
This walk through is much appreciated , now two separate trips totaling four days at Magic Kingdom , TSI is the only attraction we haven’t seen . We almost made the last day but due to its close time , missed it by a mile. Oh well , one more ride on The Haunted Mansion was critical to satisfy the mightiest personality in our group so no regrets.
Thank you.
I'm an 04 baby (And a florida born) so naturally i went to disney world quite a lot. even then, as far as i know i've never stepped foot on the island, and in all honesty im kind of mad at myself for not discovering it sooner. then again ive grown a liking to walk thru attractions
We so rarely get to see anyone walk around TSI! Thanks for a great vid.
BTW, was Aunt Polly's actually open?
It’s my pleasure Scott! Unfortunately, Aunt Polly’s was not open. I think they only have that open nowadays in emergency situations or during really busy times
It would be epic if “Tom Sawyer” by RUSH was constantly being played on loop in Tom Sawyer Island 😆 🎶
I haven’t been here in a few years. Maybe next month I’ll take a visit. After all, I’m skipping some of the attractions to go on them at night for the Halloween party.
Lucky! Whole party this year, yeah!
@@Liz.R bought it 45 minutes after they went on sale!
@@CraigSiegel32 NICE! Kinda too bad WDW doesn't have real canoes you can see/experience near the island like DL, but WDW island seems to have more/cleaner 🤷♀️
Definitely go over there if you have the time! This was also my first time back there in a few years and I really did miss it! Thanks for watching as always!
I NEVER do this and I regret it every time.
This was my first time back here in a few years, so I can definitely understand that! Such an underrated area
Can you buy food and take it over there to eat?
Great video…
Thank you very much!
Tom Sawyers Island is a relaxing spot.
Back in the early 1980's some of my highschool history students liked playing Hide and Seek in Injun Joe's Cave and scaring unsuspecting Guests.
Thinking about that feisty fun-filled memory still makes me smile.
Thanks for sharing!
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Apparently your group didn't make it a very "relaxing spot" since you were scaring people. Shame on you for letting your students get so rowdy, they could have given an unsuspecting senior a heart attack.
i never hardy do the island at Disneyland.
Why don’t Disney make this into a Princess and the Frog attraction instead of re-theming Splash Mountain?
They definitely could do that, but Disney intentionally wants to remove Splash mountain due to its connection to the Song of the South movie
@@4KWDW very poor and dumb decision on their part in my opinion. I know WDW is changing all the time but there have to be limits to what they change, and removing Splash Mountain is going way past the limit. Like Whoopi Goldberg said in the disclaimer of the Looney Tunes Golden Collection the racial images, jokes, prejudices, and caricatures featured in the cartoons were wrong back then when they were made and they are wrong today but to remove them would be the same as saying they never existed. And they remain as part of history that shouldn’t be ignored. Disney is hiding Song of the South and everything connected to it all under the rug, and it’s gonna do more harm than good.
@@kross2659 They aren't getting rid of splash mountain they are re theming the ride, It was a ride made on the cheap with recycled animatronics in the first place. Re theming it to be about a main stream Disney movie with new animatronics and modern tech will be WAY better than the old splash mountain. The angry response some people are having is only because of mindless nostalgia and racism.
How did you do a "Walkthrough" and not go through the caves? You seriously need to re do this one
TBH, this is one of the weakest attractions in Magic Kingdom. I've taken my kids to Disney many, many times and this is always something that we skip and many others that I know skip it as well. I think it would behoove Disney to ultmately scrap the entire Tom Sawyer Island and use this space to build newer and more modern rides and attractions.
