- Thanks for watching my Stamina and Magicka Templar PvE DPS Guide for ESO.
For the High Isle Chapter, there aren't many changes at all for Magplar and Stamplar. Some new sets to throw in the mix and some new CP nodes but that is about it. I have it all up-to-date on my written guide at: www.skinnycheeks.gg/templar

Wouldn’t be enjoying ESO as much as I do if it wasn’t for your presence throughout the ESO community, love what you do keep up the great work as always! 💛
Thank you! 🙏
Mad props for shouting out to Deltia and other creators. Good builds too, G!
Thanks!
This is such a help. I appreciate all the extra work you put into explaining situational advantages and preferences. Helped me immensely. Thank you!
Thanks! Glad it helped!
I really appreciate this video, as I run both stam and magplars and was starting to feel a little overwhelmed with the changes. You always seem to explain things in a way that leaves me feeling like I understand the 'why' of it all :) Also, just wanted to share that Jagga-Drenched Mud Ball has become a staple for running around overland on my mag toons that don't have their mount speed completed yet. Between that food, CP speed boosts, and Wild Hunt, I rarely feel the need for a mount
Been waiting for this!! Everyone has been saying Templar is so far behind the other classes this patch but I knew you’d pull through with high numbers!
@Turkic Sage dont need many cros anymore
@@BadKarma.- 2 instead of 3
thats how templars have been since the beginning. The stamplar especially has always been at the bottom of the totem pole.
I've had the opposite experience. Templars are by far the easiest class to play and build. My templar is my strongest toon by a lot.
Always waiting for your videos to come up. You always show so many different viable setups and most importantly, you are explaining why and how they work. Nice job as always. :D
Thanks a bunch!
Amazing video as always, started building a Templar recently and didn't know Deadly Strike was that good, thank you!
Man ... wow what a build video. Thanks a lot for your hard work. It takes a lot of time to get all those sets with the right trait, even with transmute gems. Plus the time to make the video and edit it. Thanks man fr.
thank you! the video definitely takes a while to put together.
Thanks for all of your hard work skinny cheeks. Appreciate it. I know it takes a lot of time to do this stuff.
Crushed another one! Very excited to see your take on the other classes.
You're just doing such a great job at visualizing the more complicated rotations. Thank you for all the effort you put into these :D
Thanks!
Very insightful video, thanks for your time! Definitely going to be playing around with my Stamplar after this 🎉
Great parse, Skinny! And as always a very informative guide (:
Thanks!
As always thank you for your time and being so thorough with your vid. Appreciate you 😎
Thanks!
Great video! Keep up the good work, putting out high quality, really informative content!
U re great! It's insane work for this video to understand it, test it, explain it and visualize it! Ur explains are fantastic!
Thank u bro!
thanks! appreciate that!
Thank you so much - really appreciate all your work on these!
Thanks!
Great vid Skinny. Completely agree about Deadly - I switched to Deadly over Kinras a few months ago and haven't gone back. lol. Also, "whip until I poop" is legendary, man! lol
Haha thanks!
Great vid Skinny! Great explanation on everything. Really hope this generates a reaction vid from that clown Mistikraven. His last about your DK vid was the funniest since the diminishing returns one. Can always count on him after all these years for a good laugh.
Really nice to hear someone else prefers Deadly over Kinra's!
Another amazing job :) only 30 mins in and its a banger yet again thanks for your hardwork
Thanks!
Great video, very well spoken and informative. You got my sub 💪🏼 keep up the great work man!!!
can’t wait for you to drop a warden guide. mine is a Nord because i created her to be mainly a tank but have been struggling to find a decent solo build for when i’m off adventuring. (my mag sustain is 🍑)
You're breaking my heart, man! I always watch your videos but then I need your written notes for gear, rotations, skills, etc that I can refer to during builds and parses! Please keep including those invaluable gems in your descriptions!
they are all on my website now!
@@skinnycheeks So they are, and very nicely organized as well. Even better! Ok, we're good now thanks :-)
thank you for this. you make sense of a confusing landscape of buffs from food and potions. i cant help but learn something! i cant wait to see some one bar builds due to oakensoul.
Oh Boy, time to change my templar around for the one time in the week i get to play DPS. I'm really tempted to run a stamina-focused setup for my dungeon group since i always liked stamplar more. Maybe I'll get to play DPS in one of the Raid Partys aswell *Fingers crossed*
I always enjoy your build videos! One suggestion, show us your stats buffed so we can compare. I'm coming back after being out for 6 months and my dps has bottomed out. It was 120k now its 47-48k :/
THANKS FOR PEN AND CRIT GUIDE!
Your 30s rotation helped me increase my DPS by 11k in less than a dozen parses. Still nowhere near 129k, but I feel like 115k is within reach. Thank you!
that's awesome to hear!
I want to say I have found alot of these type vids from several good people but have found yours are by far the best cause you don't assume we are all vet players or awesomely good players
Dang. I think I subd when you only had around 5k. You still have the best commentary/explanations in my opinion.
thank you! 🙏
Thanks for the plar build. I feel Templar has been left out of endgame all together for the pass 6 years. As old as eso is now, I don’t think this will change. At least our mdk got plenty of love. Thanks again Skinny
Thanks!
So glad your recognizing Deltia in your videos . Get guide skinny ❤️
Thank you for not literally titling every single build GOD MODE GOD TIER GOD GOD GOD. It so hard to watch ESO videos these days when every single build ever made is ABSOLUTE GOD! Thank you for breaking that mold.
Great guide! Thanks Skinny :)
never felt the need to say this but you did such a good job 'I subscribed' great video man.
Thanks! Appreciate it!
good on you for being comfortable with yourself to suggest people check out Deltia. he is a must for anyone getting into ESO
Really great info as always! Templar seems in a really good spot right now as there are ton of cleave options for stamplar as well now due to hybridisation.
When going Stam with staff back bar, could I just swap ritual for caltrops for easier mag sustain?
Also I think what is worth mentioning is that even if Dagger Cloak seems to be the weaker choice for single target it adds quite a bit of cleave compared to the other options on the flex spot.
Caltrops are a good bit less dps than ritual but you could do it if it fixed the sustain problems. And yah deadly cloak is nice aoe. Just a small radius
This really helped me! Thank you for these vids Skinny, you do good work!
Thank you!
oh man i wish you would do a guide like this for every class
Question out of curiosity how much of a dps loss is it dropping power of the light for another bitting jabs cast
Pretty sure my favourite thing about this patch is how all the setups that used to work are still working. There’s just a higher ceiling to be achieved by adapting to the hybridization and planning out gear/pots for different phases of a super sweaty raid.
Great breakdown again. Thanks for doing these!
Thanks! And I agree. I’m really liking it a lot. With some future tweaks this could be a really great new system
Love you´r guides! Even I get a beter underständing on whats going on in the game and how to addapt to it. Keep up the god woork
Thanks!
Great Video.,i really enjoyed it. Thanks for the Work.
Thanks!
Trying to run a Stamplar versions since I have a golded out set of Deadly Strike body pieces available and using AY front bar with Velidreth. Not even coming close to maintaining the Ritual of Retribution and Blazing Spear combo on the backbar though. Anyone have any thoughts? If I swap out either one of those two skills for Carve I can maintain just fine but I'm not sure on the DPS loss there.
I love your content as always! Plz do NB next!
So Im making my stamplar and if I dont include an execute, then infused jewerly would be good even for endgame content like vet trials right?
I am using deadly strike bow on the back bar wich skill would be best to compensate that?
Been enjoying your videos great job. I just recently got back to ESO and I was wondering as far as CP goes what would be the bare minimum in order for my dps to get close to 100k.
Thanks! Probably 200-300CP if you really had the rotation/setup down perfectly.
Where would you slot deady on a magplar?
I'm running sorrow front bar and deadly back bar on magplar, using arena 2H vMA. Would war maiden be better than sorrow, in your opinion since it boosts sweeps?
Good shoutout man
deadly strike is just a beast of a set!!
Didnt find addons using, so tell me plz, how to monitor the 3 stacks of Carve in Fancy Action Bar, if it is that addon u using? Or maybe a shortlist of main addons, so i could look myself for settings that a prob missed!?
I see Metronome here, Srendar, Greyskull, CMX. Uknown - Carve stack on Fancy!? Potion, and info near Stamina bar.
Ive testen solar bulge and i realy do not like it what can i use instead?
Thanks for the guides as always but my issue is always sustain and it’s really bad on Magplar.
Same! My high elf is always hurting for mag. I'm thinking about swapping solar barrage for razor caltrops to take some of the pressure off. Plus, it does help a bit in dungeons with melting trash mobs faster.
What food were u usin in mag parse? I tried 4 medium and I can’t sustain it
Oh boy am I excited to watch this👻
Is jabs the most important skill to keep up or purifying light? Because I can’t pass 75-80k and with bahsai slime , kilt and kin, I try releq body and kinras and couldn’t sustain it, but I’m having the same issue with kin, overwhelming, slime and kilt and same results 75-80k I just need to know if I should prioritize jabs more then any other skill without neglecting the other skills
Great video, as always. There is always 1 missing piece for me, and that is how do you get your damage so high. You are about 40% higher than me when you mouseover your abilities. I use mother sorrow and war maiden. Thanks,.
Noice ty for the guide
Any suggestions for plars who can't get a .05 jabs weave time? Asking for a friend. Ty as always Skinny, showed how to make plar keep up just fine.
can you update or make a new video where the 12sec tortaion do work?
So do we not use posions anymore? And just enchants?
You’re the best bro!!!!
Whats your spell power and max magicka without potions or active buffs?
This really makes me wanna sweat my Tempkat again! Thx Master Alpaca 😍
Templar 😅
I thought u just meant your khajiit Templar 🤣
For solo runs, do you think the extra pen from potl would outperform the extra damage from purifying if you are stacking spell damage?
Though the heal from purifying might actually be the deciding factor for solos
Unfortunately not since potl scales exclusively with stam/wpd/wep crit/phys pen :( PL hits exceptionally hard and provides fantastic burst and as you said some healing as well.
What about healing mage set for are debuff. Thoughts?
Hey Skinny, if I'm not able to get any trial gear, what setup would you recommend that works for both plars? Something like deadly/tzogvin's, deadly/briarheart, or deadly/hunding's?
What potions where you using in you magplar pares
The little axes between the skills are they light attacks?
Anywhere we can find the whole champion point setup? Instead of just the 4 slottables. Having trouble with this new champion tree
Most of it is personal preference / content specific so it is kinda hard to give a “standard” recommended loadout for the other stuff
Great guide! What is your opinion about the war maiden set? That’s what I am using at the moment together with deadly jewelry and weapons.
It’s pretty good depending on your skill loadout
skinny is the one true ESO god
question! how good is the Scathing Mage set? I just can’t get adequate damage from bahse + keeping the mana pool in a real trial battle is sooo difficult. I just want a powerful increase in damage. What can you think of?). And yes, without using a kilt, because again, in a real battle, in a melee zone, it is absolutely useless, for range DD it may be possible ...
Yo, I’m running Kjalnars nightmare and am wondering if weaving lights with the jabs still procs the aedric spear passive “BURNING LIGHT”.
Your light attacks don’t proc it. Your jabs do though.
IT'S HERE
(War maiden + 1pc Slimcraw + Death Dealers Fete + Medusa) or (Mothers sorrow + 1pc Slimcraw + Death Dealers Fete + Deadly Strike) ?
i usually do solo/overland/4 man dungeons stuff only.
I’d go with the 2nd combo and just make sure you have your minor force. They would be both be viable though.
Hey! Random, but in the CP section, I see the 4 listed, but outside of those 4 slots, do you recommend any other passive buffs to allocate points into?
Thanks Skinny! Looks great! Have you tried Khajiiti with Nerien'eth again with the changes? I hope they haven't fallen too far behind damage-wise from Dunmer with changes = ^ . ^ =
I didn’t but that should still work great!
I’m running bahsai deadly kilt and slimecraw with the same skills as your parse with that but I can’t seem to hit over 100k with it
Hey Skinny, why do you put a weapon damage glyph on your back bar weapon exclusively? I would have thought that you would want that glyph to match whatever you put on your jewelry. And given the minor sorcery buff, I was thinking that even a stamplar would want to spec into spell damage now.
The weapon enchanment is different than the jewelry ones although they have the same name
It grants you both spell dmg and weapon dmg
Why have fire enchantment on mainhand with nirn and poison enchantment on offhand with charged?
Doesn’t matter which enchant is on which hand
I’m so confused, in minutes 57.54 how come your bottom bar switches? So you have 3 bars somhow?
What sets would you pair with deadly strike im a 2h double bar templar
If you check the gear section I have plenty of sets listed that you can pair with deadly. Relequen should be easiest for single target dmg
If you use a Deadly staff on front bar, are you replacing one of the monster pieces with a Deadly armor piece to get the 5th set bonus? Or using only four of one of the other main set...?
Staves and other two handed weapons count as 2 set pieces
Thx for this very detailed guide.
Is there any specific reason, why more and more Meta builds use 2h on backbar instead of vMA bow as all the time before?
Simply stronger. Vma bow is still more than viable but the 2h has the higher ceiling at the cost of forcing you to charge into melee
What does the axes mean between the skills in the rotation? Is that Light attack?
Hi Skinny, always wonderful guides! Cant wait to see ur aoe trash build on the website. Many of my friends cant log into youtube and website, I need to report ur guides to them in details xD
Thank you!
i "m trying to do the rotation of 12 sec but how do you sustain your stamina? i keep running out. do you use stamina potions to keep up? i dont see this in vid
that rotation doesn't really work now. this was from the patch before they changed the ability timers
Really hoping you come out woth another stamplar video soon. I've tried what I can to build dps back up, and wrathful strokes does a lot, but not as much as I want. Ideas, or is this just a general nerf dps have to get used to.
there are a few changes but not enough to warrant a new video I don't think. 95% of it is still the same. same skills/rotation/etc. there is a bit of a nerf yeah, no way around it really. about 125k is what I'd be topping out at now. Maybe 126-127k w/ coral riptide and excellent stamina management.
hello
does the food and drinks buffs stack?
You are the best!
Hey what’s up, For the stamina variant, can I use a maul instead of the great sword on the back bar For extra penetration?
If you are under the cap sure, though you’ll generally want to build in a way that isn’t more pen on your backbar than your front bar
I've tried fully infused not bloodthirsty. Used kw with rele hit 112k ( ps5) would I get a better result with bloodthirsty on kinras
Gear has no effect on bt vs kinras
Sorry for the dumb question but I am coming back after 2 years and did I see right that for a stamina build I can use the Maelstrom inferno staff on my back bar? If so would be nice since I don’t have the Maelstrom bow.
Edit: yeah I see you can and it’s crazy. Now my question is will my damage be good using 5pc relequen 5pc AY and 2 pc veli? I don’t have slimecraw and the pants
Yeah you can do that. Strong combo.
very nice build, but I have a problem to lightatack after Stampede,is there a optimal range to stand and while Parsing?
That’s why I usually always pair a backbar skill with it. But you can also do a little wiggle forward or backward before each cast of stampede and it won’t grey your bars out
Hi Skinny, what is that yellow cast bar mod called?
