The S23 Ultra is the best phone of 2023 and is a fantastic phone with a lot of support left, and the same primary camera as the S24 Ultra. There are a few nice upgrades with the S24 Ultra, but mainly the phones that should consider upgrading are the S22 Ultra, S21 Ultra, and earlier devices.

I only buy my devices right from Samsung the what's the carrier or gimmicky because they're not unlocked the only way I would take a carrier version if they completely unlocked it
Yeah you convinced me to keep my s23 ultra
Nah i think if you have 23 ultra keep it..
🤗
If Samsung can get away with a AI Subscription I can see others jumping on board.
Not unless Google does it, they want. Google controls the software side of things, Samsung doesn't. Samsung "Is Only" Licensing Gemini Nano from Google in order to have Samsung AI on their devices...
My thoughts exactly
Agreed
isnt the subscription just a rumor?
@peterbiznar9678 No... end of 2025 you can sign up to continue the A i service.
coming from s20 fe, going to s24 ultra. im so excited 😊
Hope you enjoy it!
This is a tough one but if I had the s23u I wouldn’t upgrade it’s still such a beast
I’m in the opinion that, especially in his day and age, a phone should be held onto for at least three years. If Samsung is promising seven years for this phone and its siblings, then it must be capable of going strong for at least that long. Going forward, anyone buying the following year’s phones should only be doing it because they are upgrading from a two or more year old phone. In fact, Samsung could potentially release new phones every two years instead of one…though I’m sure that’ll never actually happen.
Let’s be honest just going onto 4years the battery well gone and no one wants that . And there moved on to the next generation like now. Lots of people selling them after 1year like now. There be a overload of last year’s model . You may see in the shops dealers they not selling last year model s23. But trade ups will be happening. I wonder what’s the waiting on the new Samsung Ai phone now? Is it confirmed yet. From Samsung them self. 🥳 all the best wishes regardless. 👍 nice video
Yeah I’ll stick it out with my S23 Ultra. Thanks this further proves my decision. S24 ultra beautiful phone I love that new grey and the completely flat display and great new processor. I’ll see what they do in 25.
I'm being forced to upgrade because Samsung throttles my service all I see is a 🚫 sign for my signal. So I upgraded to the s24 ultra from the 22 ultra
@@michaelkelley4711 Yeah I had the same problem with my S22 ultra before I upgraded to the S23 Ultra. I couldn’t get a signal outside of wifi at all around this same time last year , so I got the S23 Ultra in February of 23. Never had the same issue with my 23 Ultra.
@dannybishop68 yah that's my same problem I have to walk around with a portable hotspot just to even make a call lol
Remember everyone saying don't go from s22 to the 23, no difference. So basically don't do it if you have a 22 or 23.
I'll still get the s24u can't wait
@@TomShadowrider Hey congrats, its an awesome phone. I upgraded every year dating back from the S8. I was considering the 24 Ultra til i discovered how problem free my 23 Ultra has been and considering it looks similar. Grab it and enjoy it, great device.
My s23 ultra and 22 ultra cracked by the curve due to cases not covering it. This is a flat, more usable viewing area and, most importantly, more durable in addition to being titanium. When it comes to my situation, i can get the most money for the curved gimmick garbage now than if I wait. Its been over a decade since samsung produced a flat screen flagship.
Does the s24 Plus have a flat display?? Let's hope it does I don't like the curve displays any longer😢
@@Noworries-PU7ye Yes sir, it's totally flat.
Yup, curved screens are super dumb
@@Christopher2024ND totally awesome pre-order right from Samsung or should I go with the s24 ultra I don't know which one I should get or maybe I should get the s24 ultra
I totally agree. I'd have kept my note 7 if I didn't have to travel that year. Since then Ive been upgrading and have the 23 ultra myself... but the main upgrade, and I think those Aholes know it, is getting rid the stupid curved glass.
I'm sticking with my S23 Ultra. Like the 10x zoom for wildlife photography.
Same. Works great for sporting events as well.
Great points. I have a note 8 and s9 plus. 7 years brings life to the resell market. Great deals to trade in now, so I guess it's time.
Evening Tech Odyssey...may I ask you when was the last time you used a S 22 Ultra? Ever since android 14...mine has been GREAT on battery life..and doesn't throttle at all. And if the A i features trickle down...I feel it's the sleeper of the year. Rob in NYC.
I just got the S23 Ultra 3 months ago after having a Note 10+. I wasn't planning on getting the S23 but.....Samsung was offering up to $500 trade in and since I kept my Note 10+ in great condition, received the full trade in value. Gotta say Note 10+ was just fine for me but there no more OS upgrades since the phone is 4 years so I sprung for the S23 Ultra and it's a nice phone. I'll check back in around S28 timeframe for another look at the latest.
I just pre ordered a Black S24 Ultra 1TB upgraded from a Note 10 + 5G 512gb
I loved my note 10 plus just lost it and upgraded to s23 ultra. Love it
I totally agree on the screen part, I did put a matte screen protector on my s23U which prevents reflection. The nits brightness outdoors is still good for me and have no complaints.
However, the flat screen of the new model is really good as you can buy tempered glass easier since most of the brands now can manufacture it.
I switched from the S23 Ultra to the S24 Ultra. The reasons are simply the flat display and the titanium coating and the new less reflective glass.
The feel has also improved as a result.
I gotta say it... How long did you own the S22 Ultra? I've had mine since release which was 2 years ago now. I was gonna upgrade to the S23 Ultra, but Samsung tried to scam me so I cancelled it. But back to the S22 Ultra... Android 13 and 14 actually made the S22 Ultra much better if you can believe that. I've never felt mine throttle or slow down, and yeah the phone does get warm, but it's not really that big of an issue. I wear a GhostTek case on mine and barely feel it get warm. Yeah the battery ain't the greatest, but to save hundreds of dollars... I can deal with that. No disrespect here, I like your videos and your channel, but the S22 Ultra ain't as bad as you keep making it out to be.
Same here....
I ditched it a year ago. It was terrible. If it’s improved since then, that’s good for people who have it. I’d say you should look and see how much it gets throttled if you can even get an accurate number with Samsungs shenanigans.
I agree keeping my S22U. Not worth it to spend $500+ with trade-in IMO. My S22U works great & I get 6-7 hours SOT.
So in the end I did get an order in. I'm getting the S24U in green 512 GB. I was initially going to buy it through my network but the deals Samsung are offering are too good to pass up. £50 off, a free leather case and screen protector, double storage for free, a pretty generous trading price for my Pixel 6 Pro, a 30% discount on the care+ plan, a voucher for a free galaxy watch 6 and and they will pay my Disney+dl for a year. It's kind of ridiculous.
Only bad part is that I didn't want to pay for the thing in one big chunk so I had to jump through all of the hoops for the Samsung finance plan. Let's know interest so it's pretty good as loans go but filling in the online paperwork is a pain. I still had to pay like $500 upfront to even be accepted. But regardless it's done now. Pretty happy with my decision as of right now.
Weird. In the US, there’s no interest at all and if approved, you should be fully covered for the price of the phone.
@@kevinphoenix2007 oh there's none here either. But I still had to go through a whole process. Possibly s difference in regulations.
Your deal sounds a sweet one. You would have kicked yourself later for not taking it up.
S24U flat screen/glare reduction was of great interest to me. The S-pen being flush with the phone was another draw because I've inadvertently clicked mine to first stage deployment a zillion times already. The prospect of AI with a Snapdragon chip had me chomping at the bit. Then... Subscriptions, 5x optical tele. No thanks on both counts. Will be keeping my S23U. It can only get better with updates. As you previously stated, it will likely go down as the greatest pre AI marketing phone ever.
I think the reason was more because people tend to zoom between less than 10 most of the time.
@joemilone6 that's odd the 10x is game changing
I have an s22 ultra can't say it changed anything at all for me.
@@BouncingZeusNo we don't!.. Don't be so opinionated. You are very wrong.
Why is everything about the ultra? Not everyone wants a HUGE phone stuffed in their pockets or needs everything the ultra comes with. When your out and about you see more small iPhones then you do in big ones at least that’s what I’ve noticed but, nobody is talking about the regular S24 🤷♂️
I just talked about the plus yesterday
Well more people lean more towards a bigger phone rather than small phones. If u look at sales of the s23 Ultra, it sold thousands more than the regular and plus models.
My S22Ultra runs sweet and never had an issue. 12G of RAM, 10x zoom, 120Hz refresh rate and 40MP front camera. No reason to upgrade and love curved screen! When Samsung puts satellite options, 144 Hz screen and 16g RAM maybe time to upgrade.
Love the content, great advice each time.
Glad you like them! Thank you
@@MichaelJ84. I can’t very well review them if I don’t buy them. That’s why.
If your upgrading from 3-4 years old tech I would if not stay put.
Hey TechOdyssey, I finally pulled the trigger listening to this video. Bought my NOTE 8 on the first day on August 23rd, 2017 to the S24 Ultra ! Can't wait! EVERYONE is telling me this will be a monster upgrade for me ! Thanks for your videos ! You are my favorite tech channel on UA-cam !
Awesome. Glad to hear it. I hope you enjoy the phone! And thanks for the support. I’m glad you enjoy the videos.
I've recently ordered the S24 Ultra and plan to trade in my S22 Ultra for extra cashback. During my time with the S22 Ultra, I discovered an unexpected issue. Initially, I believed the AMOLED screen was free from any burn-in. However, upon closer inspection of the area behind the status bar, I noticed faint signs of burn-in. This was surprising, especially after learning that OneUI 6.0 lacks specific AMOLED burn-in protection features. The light burn-in on my screen was disappointing. To address this, I've started using Good Lock's QuickStar to disable all icons on the status bar, which helps, but it's a workaround. I believe a built-in feature for auto-hiding the status bar in future Android updates would be highly beneficial. It would not only enhance the overall user experience but also play a crucial role in preventing screen burn-in, especially in static areas like the status bar.
Buy or Pass
Me : Wait 😁
I have the S23 Ultra (Black, 256GB) I ordered an S24 Ultra (Titanium Violet, 1TB). I think the kick down from 10MP to 5MP is the sweet spot of this phone for portraits. I think software updates will make the already amazing cameras even better. Im excited to get my hands on it.
Yeah... i don't buy Samsung phones, but the 5x telephoto is so much more useful. Maxed out 10x on 10mp looks pretty bad.
@@jakublizon6375 100% agree!!
10x to 5x optical zoom but the ccd is now 50mp....
@@onthatdirtroadyeah 3 reviews have already shown the 10x is worse now check Toms guide he has an article about it showing that but I can agree 5x is probably more useful at 50mp.
The S25 U makes more sense from 23 U yet if Google used Snapdragon for Pixel 9 would be king.
I went to Best Buy today to play with the demos, thinking I might trade my 23 ultra for the 24 plus because I have been wanting a smaller samsung. Well, I've pre-ordered the 24 ultra because even though the weight and size is hardly different from the 23 ultra, it just feels so much nicer. The 24 plus is lovely, but I just don't get the vibes for it, no matter how much more practical it is to purchase. The titanium has a really nice feel to it. So off I go again into another giant phone 😂
I decided to get the s24 plus from the s23 ultra for the reasons you described
I will miss out on the titanium because I'm going to put a case on mine I will not take it out of the house without a case you pay too much money for it😮
@@Noworries-PU7ye Agreed. I went with the S24+. To me, it seems like the best choice of the three overall. I can’t justify the Ultra being another $100 more than the previous iterations.
@@kevinphoenix2007 Samsung's getting greedy it's because the economy is improving that's why prices are going up inflation is under control. That's probably the reason for the price increase still not the right thing to do😟
Thanks for the info 👍 I will be upgrading from the S21 Plus to the S23 Ultra
Very good move i go 1y ago S21 U --> S23 U very good move i love this
Sticking with my S23 Ultra at 512GB 12 RAM what more can I want will wait for the New Design Hopefully S25 Ultra
It’s all for the better. From what I understand, the AI features will be filtering down to the S23 series anyway, so aside from a small spec bump in the CPU and GPU and a slightly stronger body, it’s basically the same phone anyway. If anything, you’d be losing a little in the optical zoom department from 10X to 5X with the S24 Ultra.
Something to consider at the end of 2025 if you plan to keep your phone that long Samsung may or could start charging for ai Samsung is not specific but it is assumed to be for cloud based ai features if ai is important to you it’s something to think about.
I will not pay for the AI if they start charging for it I can go without it the phone will still work
The good thing of 7 years is not for people to keep there phone for 7 years is more for people who wants to buy old phone that still get software updates
After 7 years from s8 to s24 ultra
yes its worth 😂
See you again in 7years👋
same here but I have a S8+ and yep see you again in 7 years 🤣🤣.Purchased the S24 Ultra, 1TB Titanium Violet
I really love my Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra, so keeping it 😊
I agree with you, I differently keeping my Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra phone and thank for the information 🙏
Having WiFi 7 for me and You maybe is a bit too early but for anybody else that could be a good feature to have in 2-3 years. I usually Upgrade my Phone every 2-3 Years but i think we are at point where there so little upgrades that's 2-3 years its still feel like its not worth it. I Work in a phone shop and i still see people using Samsung S6 edge S8, quite often i replace batteries for Iphone 7s or 8s. I Upgraded from S22 Ultra and after 2 years, i did remove half of google services, samsung services, debloated the phone, that improved the battery life greatly, but still i felt like i spend 1200€ on a phone that has a poor battery life and i could not use it fully which shouldn't be the full flagship experience, i also had to use FHD instead of WQHD or else the phone battery would dissapear in front of my eyes.
The 23 Ultra hits all the marks for my usage. When I do get the itch to upgrade hopefully the Pixel 9 Pro be right around the corner
A refreshing pleasure to listen to your frank, solidly reasoned analysis. No more reliable cell phone guide than you.
Thank you! I appreciate it.
With trade-in, I got the phone for $500. Plus $150 for Samsung products. That's a good deal.
I upgraded to the s23 ultra but i dont think anyone needs to unless they just want the latest and greatest. The battery life on the s24 ultra seems to be better and the 10x to the 5x shouldnt make a difference.
Honestly, I ultimately decided to upgrade from my S21 Ultra to the S24+
I never really had a need for the S-Pen and the upgrades of the S24+ over the vanilla S24 are significantly higher compared to the S23+ over the vanilla S23. The S24+ is much closer to the S24 Ultra and even with a trade-in, I can’t justify the price of the Ultra at $100 more than the last few years at $1300 instead of $1200, especially when you’re losing out a little in the camera department. That being said, I don’t mind being limited to 3X optical zoom because I’m not that much of a photographer anyway.
My key reasons for choosing the S24+ are: Bigger battery (nearly as big as the S24 Ultra, QuadHD+ display which the Ultra also has, well rounded form factor, 7 years of software updates/upgrades (I plan to take full advantage of the whole 7 years for this phone) and finally it now being technically $300 cheaper than the S24 Ultra while remaining closer in features to the S24 Ultra than the S24.
I always keep my phone in a durable case and the screen with a screen protector so I won’t be interacting directly with the frame of the phone anyway to care if it’s made from aluminum or titanium. IMO, I’d say the S24+ is set up to be the pick for a lot of people compared to its siblings.
The biggest problem with not upgrading every year is the price of your trade in goes down pretty significantly at 2+ years out, so when you do finally upgrade, you're paying a lot more. It suck, but it is what it is.
I'm swapping out my S23U for an S24U because 1) it works half the time on Wi-Fi. my S22U had the same issue, so I'm hoping the new Wi-Fi chip will change it 2) I have Vietnamese family members that I've never actually talked to directly, but being able to call them if there's an emergency or trying out the live translation would be nice in person 3) my S23U battery isn't that great... I generally get 5 or 6 hours of SOT 4) I use some AI editing apps, but they have ads 5) I hate the curved edge display.
I'm at a point to where I want to start upgrading every 3 years as long as it doesn't have issues.
Hey just curious, what kind of mic do you use? Is it on the phone you’re recording with? Or a dedicated mic? Just wondering
I use the Shure MV88+
I'm keeping my s23 ultra. I hope samsung will bring something good to the table for the s25. The s24 ultra did not impress me one bit.
Not good to hear. Buy it now!
@@ghs7714Are you a Samsung salesperson?.
@@neilmcguinness4422 yes
I agree with the opening statement - Don't upgrade if you own S23 Ultra, unless it being replaced due to loss or damage! I have seen the hardware changes and the fact the S24 ULTRA camera can zoom, using all the cameras in UHD 60 without stopping, then restart. The 3x 10mp camera is practically a waste. If it had 20mp, it would have helped cover the gap to the 10x camera, but Samsung decided on changing the long telephoto camera.
Hi, would you consider buying S23 Ultra instead of S24 Ultra in 2024 - coming from Note 20 Ultra here, just thinking that the save i would made (around 700 locally)
I used a bunch of discounts being a student, trading in a 13 Pro Max, and a coupon code that worked ion remember which one though, and promotional discounts, and the bundle discounts I'm getting the S24U 1tb, screen protector, case, and earbuds for like 839 saving over 1k I thought it was an amazing deal
Nice! Super cool
Will keep my s23 ultra until galaxy fold 6 .. samsung better have some amazing trade in deals
I'm actually going from the s23 ultra to the s24 plus. I want a smaller design with almost the same specs. I don't like or want the s pen. Verizon is giving me 1000 for my s23 ultra so I'm basically paying nothing a month for my s24 plus
I am on 21ultra. Cannot wait to upgrade to 24ultra when the price drops a bit.
Buena refleccion, tengo el s23 ultra y no lo cambio por nada por lo menos 3 o 4 años seguiré disfrutando y con la llegada de one ui 6.1 más aún.
I currently sport the S23Ultra and the Z Fold 5. I ordered the Orange S23Ultra with 1TB of storage. I upgrade every year and throw the older phones into my "tech drawer" to use as either backup phone and/or trade in device. This process has worked for me for the last few years. My son does the same, so I inherit the older devices. Looking forward to the new S24ultra arriving in a couple weeks.
You must have a lot of phones in the drawer lol

Wow. You’re gonna love this phone
I got a iPhone 8 that’s still going strong. Not my main everyday phone, but gets used every day. Runs most games well. Agree battery has suffered but feel it’s still got plenty of life left in it for what I use it for.
I love how Samsung are going to retroactively apply AI upgrades to older devices….. then change everyone for it 😅
Great review! I have the Note 10+. It may seem like a silly question, but should I upgrade to the S24 Ultra?
08:14 - If you actually try to trade in an older phone, the discount is significantly reduced. Even a phone as old as a Galaxy S20 is only trading in for around $200 towards the price of the S24 lineup (on samsung's website). In this case, a battery upgrade is significantly cheaper they upgrading from an older phone
why are you doing this? lol you convinced me to go with the s24 plus instead of the ultra!
lol. My bad
@TechOdyssey i have the s23 ultra but these sqaure corners are sooooo irritating plus its just to heavy for me so im giving the plus a go this time since the plus made those improvements. i can live without the s pen and the camera

I've upgraded but wish I hadn't. Samsung customer service is the worst I've ever dealt with! Pre ordered last night chose 24th January delivery date and paid extra £9.99 for delivery before 10am. Now been told I'm not getting it until 4th February!! Took 3 hours to get through to them to be fobbed off. Not good service at all
I have the s22ultra and I am not upgrading yet. It’s too expensive for most people. Don’t care for AI features. I love the s22ultra camera. Thanks for the video
Gamestreaming locally to steam can benefit from Wifi 7. This makes the phone better for streaming games than a steam deck if you get a good controller.
well i seen them side by side and must admit that the curvature on s23 ultra gives me more satisfaction to look at as it looks to me as i get better screen to body ratio and i dont see those black edges as much. but yeah easy to smash :(
The flat screen is the biggest feature of note. As someone who loves the zoom capability on the S22/23 ultras the 24 ultra may be a downgrade despite the 50mp sensor. I get a new S device every year since the s3 so I did pre order but will definitely need to compare zoom between it the S23 ultra.
I always laugh at advertising these silly 7 year update guarantees lol. Yeah like anyone keeps a device that long.
Thinking about a new phone. Have the s10+ for ,yes, 5 years!! Starting to once in a while do goofy things. I have been thinking about the s23+, no ultra to big for my hand. Would you recommend the s23+ or go up to the s24+. I appreciate your input. Mostly research and you tube. Take pics with s10+ and am very happy with them. Thank you for sharing 🙃😊
What do you think about switching from a Google Pixel 8 Pro to a Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra. I've noticed all the reviews out there are comparing the S24 Ultra to the iPhone 15 Pro Max but I have been unable to find a video comparing the two phones that goes head to head on AI ...
Wait for the release of the OnePlus 12 (global unveil next week) before you make your final decision. Coming from someone that has s23+, P8P and OP 11.
Note 20 ultra 5g was the best phone of the last 7yrs. With it reaching end of software updates, the S24 Ultra gives enough reason to update...although even after 4yrs the hardware changes could be better. Samsung dropping the note line means they are selling only $1300 phones rather than $2,000. Hardware on flip and fold get compromised to accommodate screen changes.

Just fyi ... but I preordered the S24 Ultra from Spectrum/Charter today and they are doing trade ins for way more than just Samsung phones. I got to keep my paid for S22 Ultra and traded in an LG Stylo 6 and got $714 trade in for it! Literally cut the cost of the new one in half and I didn't have to give up my S22 so I'll still have a decent backup phone if needed.
If you own a S23 Ultra don’t upgrade. It’s not worth it…plus the Galaxy AI will be available for us in the early part of this year. Not to mention we have updates for the next 5 years. Just keep the beast up have
That flat screen alone is why i want it i had 3 layers of protection for the 23ultra a case with raised sides, a screen protector, and a thing to hook to the case to put around your neck well that broke hit the pavement and the protector popped of and the case popped off a little bit and cracked the curved part had the same thing happen with the note10 in the same spot with a otter box and screen protector 1 and only drop.

About the 7 years os update, you talking about the usa market and hey I can understand your point of view but other markets especially low economic countries that's a really good selling point and very important consideration for reselling, I just upgraded my iPhone 7 last year and sold it for 150$ after like 6 or 7 years of use
So all around this is pro consumer not to hate on it
We now have a "Double S" Phone

2023: S22 Ultra-S
2024: S22 Ultra-SS
2025: S25 Ultra
Hows the efficiency?
Even with the "coupons," I find it hard to justify upgrading from the S23U when it will cost $695. I priced it out, including the value of trading in my phone. The math doesn't make sense in my case. There will be software updates for the S23U that will raise its level of performance. For me, it makes more sense to wait and upgrade to the S25U (or possibly the S24U) next year. As it is, the S23U is an extremely impressive and capable device in its own right, and it appears that a couple of things still need to be worked out with the S24 platform in terms of software.
Pre ordered the S24 Ultra Titanium Black, coming from a Note 20 ultra with Exynos 😁
The flat display did it for me as well, upgrading from s22

So glad you are the one that determines if 5 or 7 years is the right amount. ..
I have an S21 Ultra that I've been using since 2022, and it still works great. That said, Samsung was offering 700 for the S21U in trade in towards the S23 Ultra not too long ago and I wish I would have jumped on it. I heard so many good things about the S23U. I am hoping the S24 will be just as good. I could care less about the AI though.
Can you put an actual sim card in the S24 ultra or is it e sim
It’s both
Great video! You're not wrong but I guess the reason to hold onto a phone for 7 years is the value that hopefully it will still be a good phone so good. There's no reason to upgrade similar to the S23 Ultra situation. I'd say it's a very good deal coming from a pixel 6. I've never had a flagship and this phone has so many ups and downs I kept contemplating if should get the A54 just to be in the Samsung ecosystem cause I have the watch 4 classic and this thing is amazing I got it for $89 on amazon great deal. Five would be the sweet spot though, but I guess it's good we have 7 anyways right.
Coming from Galaxy S8+ so definitely a buy
Would the s24U be a upgrade over the Fold5?
After seeing the iPhone vs S24U camera reviews. I'm thinking about trading my S24U in for an iPhone. Do you think I can get 1k for the S24U/galaxy buds 2 pro? I'll just that towards the iPhone 14MP.
I pre order my s24 ultra yesterday ...here un UK
Nice!
Hi boss for me zero hype it's only an upgrade...do you will test Nubia Z60 ultra?thank you
I wish I could get my hands on one
I saw that the new series doesn’t support Qi2, do you think the magnets build on cases are supporting Qi2?
I still have the S8+ as my secondary phone. It works fine except the memory chip drawer is broken. R U saying Verizon will give me the S24 ultra for it for free?
Much later: Oh man I just spent almost 3 hours "chatting" with Verizon sales and tech support and accomplished nothing! The salesman said they were going to let me trade in my Samsung S8+ and get the S24 Ultra/512, not for free, but for a total of only $360...but when they finally sent me the contract they tried to trick me into paying $1300! I might try to go into one of their stores and see if I can accomplish anything in person.
At the end of the day they're is only so much you can do with a phone I bet in 7 years won't be much better than today.
I’m mainly upgrading for the seven years of support. Beyond that, how much faster can a flagship phone possibly get?
I'm giving up my 23 ultra for the 24+. That ultra is just too big.
The Note8 is a 6.5 years old phone, I'm currently forced to use it after a mishap with my S22U and in all honestly, it would still make a good phone if it wasn't for the fact that it's stuck to Android 8 which is a deal breaker since there's already few high profile apps like the Phillips Hue that dropped support for Oreo (I had to use an older version from ApkMirror).
It's definitely a slow phone now but it still holds up well enough and would eat up current entry phones if both had the same software.
So yeah, if the battery survive, the lack of software and security patches were the real issue causing "planned obsolescence".
