Honest question: Why add the organic material (oregano)? I've seen this in other videos were they add stuff like that (usually some type of pepper). Does it actually do something like maybe add carbon to the metal?

that's right, just cutting the blade into the right shape would not be approved by the Forged in fire jury. As a blacksmith, he should forge it, not cut it. Otherwise, of course, it's a beautiful work and should definitely be appreciated.

Yeah fitting it always takes so long so pressing it is just fast
I like the epoxy handle, many artistic knives like this one use them 👌

Use either tung oil or boiled linseed oil not mineral oil it does not contain polymerizers and hardeners and driers
