For e start button issue, you can buy kill and start switches that bolt directly to the clutch perch and master cylinders that are made of billet aluminum and are just better, plus opening up space on your bars
@@_ds804 i know I'm a year late on this, but the tusk start switches suck ass. I have 19 450r and broke the oem start switch in a decent crash. The tusk start switch just broke from being used, the outer cover just fell off.
Jeff, I have a WE as well. Fantastic bike. I put a Rekluse Torq drive clutch pack and ARC RC8 clutch lever, clutch issue resolved. Next I put in 1,.53 fork spring, 3 mm of preload and 375 cc of oil, Forks are AMAZING!! comp on 5, reb on 11.Then I put on Ride Engineering 1mm shorter link arms and an MX Tech 50/50 shock kit. Also, I put on an older model Honda steering damper. Now it handles like a dream!!! I put on 996 bars, I'm not a fan of crossbarless bars. I got 1 of the WE headers from Yosh, A twin air filter, took out the backfire screen and quiet cores,on map 3, it really makes it go!!! lastly, I got rid of the stock tires and put on an RK U ring chain. I put on the new DunlopMX33 tires, the front sticks like velcro, something the MX3S never did. It seems like a lot to do to a bike that cost $12,000, But, be honest, we all are the same, we love tricking our bikes out!! Cheers, Paul, AKA Bermshredder
You can stiffen compression in forks and feels better because it makes fork ride higher in the stroke thus adding more caster, but handling can suffer due to stiffness . Adjust fork oil height. Add oil through air bleed holes 10cc at a time. and put clickers back to stock as a starting point. It will fix if you havnt had suspension worked by the time you read this haha
Haven't had a chance yet to hop on a 19 Yamaha, but my buddy who I ride with every week just picked one up so I'll definitely make an effort to trade bikes with him for a session this weekend! He just came off of a KTM and said that the power delivery on the Yamaha was much more to his liking, but he could definitely feel the extra weight coming into corners. Says he really likes it though, so I'm anxious to hop on it. I'll get back to you on that for sure
I added 25 ml x2 on the fork , still might go stiffer springs , it’s not as plush up top as an sss revalve , but it feels really good the faster you ride it , rear is mint
thanks for sharing your experiences. In regards with your start button, I have seen guys installed a back-up remote start button on an other location. It's pretty easy thing to do, it's just a N/O normally open switch that you can connect to the start button wires already there. Keep sharing your videos, thanks
I'm thinking of buy one for like trail riding around the property.. well the clutch still get fried that quickly.. and does this bike overheat quickly like the 2018...
Thanks for the video Jeff! I think you would love to try the pull rods from Factory connection! Keep it up buddy! love your vids! Getting the numbers in 500+ subs!!!!!
I really and I mean really wish they would put kickers back on the bikes it adds a minuscule amount of weight especially if you lay it down and bust the starter like you explained your screwed unless you have a spare. Especially if you decide to take it out in the woods for single track riding and you would be absolutely screwed short of a bump start.
hi didi you revalve? i bought stock 19 crf450 not WE i would like to put technical touch kyb kit on it like my 18 ysz 450f i really don't like suspensions also wp kit it would be nice with do you think? i will try your click but normal 450 and we has the same valve inside?
Any comparison between the 996 and the 999? I know the base are different but the big difference is the 999 is 10mm lower. I'm 6' and wasn't too sure which one too use I'm running a cr high bend and its just a little too talk but the stock contuors felt a little to lower and them were 93mm 999 85mm 996 95mm Contour 93mm
Hey Logan. The 996 is actually nearly identical to the new 839 bend that comes stock on the new Honda in terms of sweep and overall shape, so I'd have no problems running the 996 for a little extra height. If you're happy with the bend/shape of the stock contours, you can pick up some 5mm-10mm riser bar mounts that will essentially achieve the same thing while still giving you the bend that you're comfortable with. That's what I used to do with the 999 because I loved the bend so much, but they were pretty low for me since i'm 6'1". That's definitely a good route to go. I would not recommend the CR High bend for two reasons: they're extremely tall which means you can't weight the front end properly, and they have an enormous amount of "sweep" like a harley davidson. I tried a set and didn't even make it from my van to the track because I hated them so much.
@@JeffWalker84 thanks. Gonna try the 999 cause I'm close to your height and I'm shooting for a more low and wide bar to see if opening my arms kinda helps with arm pump if they are to low I can always like you said by bar risers
I just put stiffer clutch springs from Hinson in and it helped a lot. If you can swing it, the full Hinson kit is definitely worth it! But if not, the springs help a lot
Okay thank you and I’m going to probably do the kit to but I got amazing parents and when dad caught wind of me thinking about replacing it and told me if I wanted the whole kit I pay 3/4 he pays the rest and shipping and so might do that idk
It's a Garmin Forerunner 735XT. I honestly wouldn't really recommend it for motocross since it's kind of expensive and has a lot of features that are useless for moto. It's a Triathlon watch, so it does a lot of extra stuff. I would recommend the Garmin Forerunner 235 instead. It's almost the same thing, just cheaper and with less features
Jeff Walker Ah fair enough, I’ll have a look. Nice channel by the way man, chill vibe. Come across your channel since you started posting these Factory Edition videos
Yes thank you for the settings chart! Im on a 13 450r and have been trying to figure out the same issues, front all over the place etc. down side is I’m 210lbs with gear on, so I’m a heavier rider. I’ve got my PSI at 35lbs, 6 clicks out compression, 10 rebound, rear 5.8 factory connection and 1 1/2 turns out, 12 on rebound and 8 on compression and forks at 5mm high, and man I can’t feel comfortable on this bike. Bottom out sometimes, almost always I feel like. But it’s nice to see where other riders are going with their numbers for an idea.
Toren, is that 1 1/2 turns out on the rear High Speed Compression? That's extremely stiff! I believe stock is 3 1/3 turns out which is MUCH softer than you are running. The more you turn the high speed comp out, the lower the rear end sits as well, so it's possible that your front end instability is coming from how high your rear end is sitting due to your high speed comp being so stiff. Try taking it out 1.5 turns and see if that makes a difference (it should!!)
Jeff Walker - yes that’s 1 1/2 turns out on high speed compression, I feel like I have to have it closer to 0 cause of my weight, I have bottoming out issues, even with the 5.8 shock in the rear sag at 108mm, I just went to 4 turns compression front ( haven’t tested yet) should I also bring up my rebound on the front and rear too to help with my Bottoming out issues?
@@torenbeales5247 Where on the track are you experiencing the bottoming-out issue? If you find yourself bottoming out on jump faces and landings, that's an issue with your Low Speed Compression being too soft. Next time you're at the track, try going in 4 clicks on your low speed compression and backing your high speed out a full turn. High speed compression is mainly for coming through fast, choppy breaking bumps coming into corners. Rebound damping typically doesn't affect bottoming-out issues too much, unless your rebound is so slow (2-3 clicks) that it's packing down in the stroke and not coming back up in time for the next bump. In that case, you'd also be experience some side-to-side swapping through choppy sections. At 12 clicks out on rebound, that is definitely not the issue. If anything, I would say that's quite a fast rebound!
If I had to guess, I would say probably not. KTM tried it for a year and realized the market just wasn’t there, so they decided to stop production to make room for the Rockstar Edition Husqvarna 450. It would be really sick, but I think the 450 is much more marketable
