Lyanna really was badass, even in season 5, when she responded to Stannis that Bear Islands was loyal only to the Starks. Lyanna Mormont ruled even before she showed up.
Lyanna was right. During the battle of the bastards, at the Dreadfort entrance Jon picked up a Mormont shield, proving how tough the 62 men were to make it all that way. Now I know why they had to kill her off: If she had been at the council in the finale, they would’ve chosen her as queen over Bran!

lol for what? being cast in a ludicrous girl boss role? that for some reason the patriarchal Westeros society no one just back hands her when she is talking down to grown men about war who have actually fought.
Lyanna Mormont should NOT have died. Yes it was a badass scene and really showed how brave she was. But the writers could have accomplished that and let her live. I don't know why, but I felt short changed when she died. She is one that they should've left alive.
"I know no king but the king in the north whose name is stark" that and her death scene will always send chills up my spine. SHE KILLED A FUCKING GIANT
yeah she said that. but then lyanna immediately tried to leave Sansa to die in her first scene, rather than "knowing no queen but the queen in the north". so.....
I honestly thought it was a bit silly for her to be in the battle. On the other hand, the whole battle was staged in a pretty stupid way. It didn't matter any more. Her character was definitely an asset and I would have liked it better if she had been in the small council at the end and House Mormont hadn't died out.
Actually its not silly. She is am Mormont from bear island. On Bear Island, men often go on long ocean voyages to fish. As a result, a warrior culture developed among women to quell incursions from the ironborn.
I absolutely loved it when she asked if Sansa, Lady "Sandra" was a Bolton, or if she was a Lannister. She fits the character so well. I really believed she was from Bear Island and it's leader. It's rare that women of any age can pull it off now a days.
That was so dumb, she knows Sansa was under duress, a prisoner of war, she was abused in every way and yet Lyanna shows no empathy or respect to Ned Stark's daughter and her liege lady, heir to Winterfell, it's quiet annoying how they decided to prop her up in the expense of Sansa, it reminded me how the showrunners raped Sansa to prop up Ramsey's villainy and Theon's redemption.
@@jamesmswenko8292 First of all Lyanna was questioning Sansa because many lords may not decide to join them due to Sansa having "committed" to other houses and no longer being a true Stark, especially since Jon is a bastard so if the Northern lords won't see Sansa as the legitimate heir to Winterfell then they have little claim. Secondly the showrunners didn't create the Sansa rape out of thin air, the character in Sansa's place in the book is also raped by Ramsey except its far worse (Theon is forced to take part). Sansa taking the place of fake Arya is dumb of course but they likely did it to condense storylines for the show and avoid having to flesh out the Vale, so Sansa was now the one in that already existing scenario with Ramsey.

@@holysecret2she has no charisma she talks to down to anyone as soon as she meets them in real life they’d put her reality tv show about asshole spoiled children.
@@MayhapsYes "It's just a fantasy show" is certainly a retarded argument. But just because people are arguing stupidly for something does not make that something wrong. In my opinion it is believable that *honorable* northern lords would respect tradition and Lyanna Mormont's station.
She is also a lord/lady of a powerful house, and she is clearly knowledgeable and speaks with authority. In this context, there is no reason other than a weak ego to lash out against her, and I think that is very much something the culture in the north would look down upon. And even disregarding this cultural and personal viewpoint, even politically it would be unwise to just disrespect and walk over her. She is a lord, with actual political and military power.
Isn't that the girl from Last of Us?
You left north as a king and came back as...
A lord? Nothing at all? We(eee) name you king in the north. Not important????
I love Lyaana acting in game of thrones I know every of her words in my head
Lyanna's iconic in an "everything wrong with GOT" kind of way. Don't get me wrong, Bella's cool and all, but the character was a total contradiction to all the worldbuilding and grounding of the show.
more so cringe than iconic
Liked her in the beginning.... After that they kinda made it too forced and it became annoying....
Edit: but tbh I found everything about the show annoying by then, so I don't blame her...
Nah she was literally 1 of the cringiest parts of those last seasons.
Never liked her, her whole character was so damn contrived.
idk imho she was just boring
Actress not actor.
I found her irritating and the whole killing giant thing absolutely idiotic.
Then you would be in the minority
No more idiotic than the rest of that episode though.
@@Frankenbutt99 I found her great, but the giant kill scene was indeed idiotic. A zombie giant would have stomped her without a second glance, but the script demanded that he kneel down and hold her close to his eye, so she could stab him. Are we supposed to get the impression that wights have thoughts and emotions, feeling intrigued by that little girl or wanting to play with their food? The scene simply made no sense, same basically everything else in season 8. But ignoring that, she did a great job in season 6, I liked her a lot back then.
@@trainsurfer7593 And no more idiotic then whole seasons 5-8. Her character fits the tone. She is just a kid, but they had to do "you go girl" theme. She talks like she experienced lifetime of ruling and talks back to her king in a sassy way. Plus this killing a giant... People love it, but all I want to do is scream at the screen "SHE IS A LITTLE GIRL AND THIS IS SUPPOSED TO BE GAME OF THRONES". :D
@@bloodwynn oh yes - I totally agree with you about that, but I liked the character and actor apart from that. Even the "Lady Sandra Landister" fumbles 😁
Bad ass died to soon
the only reason I'm not gonna watch last of us
That character sucked. The knife to the eye was lame.
Holy fucking fanboy
Idk about this one, chief. She was mid in this show and was even worse in last of us. She had moments in the last of us but was definitely not as good as everyone made her out to be. Worst part of the last of us in terms of casting
I wish you had used Bella's proper pronouns of they instead of she.
But isn’t Bella Gender-Fluid?
Lyanna was great until season 8 when they turned her into the generic "girl warrior"
great how?
Iconic. Do you mean another annoying strong whamen character?
Yeah, because anyone writing whamen is someone we need to take serious. She's a strong whamen, she's woke, she's sjw or whatever buzzword you desperately cling to
You called they/them a she.
Good. Never cater to idiots who fall for trends.
@@gooby214 Anti-woke isn't a trend too?
@@CNTconnoisseur Common sense isn't a "trend". Nice projecting.
@@gooby214 Gender is a social construct. I honestly don't know why people on either side care.
@@CNTconnoisseur Exactly. Which is why we're all free to disagree with any ideas related to that.
The actress didn't, she's pretty talentless, the writing did.
Smooth-brain take
Clearly someone didn't watch the last of us.
Baby girl is just an ICON!!
Edit: omg I said "baby girl" as like a term of endearment... I forgot she was indeed Baby Girl
Why are you misgendering Bella Ramsey? They use they/them pronouns. This info is public. You should know this esp because you reference their performance in The Last of Us when they came out as non binary 🧍🏾♀️
Well if they're non binary they shouldn't take up roles for women 🤷🏻♂️
This character was so awful and forced. So cringe. Don't even mention that damn giant..
You better do papa pascal next
dude what? just because she was better then intended doesn't change it was merely an okay character stop glorifying mediocrity
