I’ve almost finished making it for the 1st time. Instead of a piping bag I’ve been using teaspoons and I’ve been using the straight end of the teaspoon to push the mixture into the cannelloni tubes.
i wish somebody would show how to make it with ricotta and mozarella only. too many canneloni recipes with spinach and meat. and without tons of cheese ontop. can you just cook it with the sauce or is the cheese ontop necessary to help the pasta cook?

I would like to do this without spinach. Fill in with mozzarella and tomato. Bottom and surface spreading tomato sauce (pepper, garlic, oregano and basilicum) At last cheese party ❤
Ah. I just saw a box of cannelloni. I also thought cannelloni was meat and ricotta. I just watched Lita the famous Italian cook do both. She did make her own shells from scratch.

Making this tomorrow it looks delicious, when I crush my tomato I usually put them in a large bowl instead of doing on the stove.
Use a tin of chopoed much easier and no diferaint, make sure you buy a good brand.

Are cannelloni boiled? Or not
No, not boiled. They soften in then oven when cooking in the liquid of the tomato sauce and ricotta filling. Enjoy!

Manicotti tubes are ridged, larger and slightly thicker. Cannelloni tubes are smooth, a touch smaller and slightly thinner.
Never saw a cannelloni shell. Live and learn.
