First time watching better call saul (reaction)
Immma slow down now...
It gets crazy my man. Thanks for your reactions and can't wait for more but! Take your time!
Just one more and then you can have that break. 5x7 will answer a lot for you, will still be entertaining, and will be a good stopping point for a break.
Noooooooo
But ok 😅
bro got to the best stretch of the show and said its time to slow down no wayyyyyy
Sure, buddy. Whatever you say.
Writing a good prequel is an art. Very few people can pull it off. It requires incredible skill to backfill a story and have it lined up perfectly with another story. Vince Gilligan is a master craftsman. It all falls into place. Enjoy the ride.
Vince took a step back from the show after season 3, and came back for 6, Peter Gould is the main showrunner for seasons 4 and 5 (and he always had as much or more influence on the show than Vince afaik).
You said a couple episodes back that every time Kim looks like she's going to pull out of the relationship, she doubles down and goes in further.
"am i missing something or is saul being a total asshole here"
nope you're not missing anything 😂
Kim's dialogue practically validates Chuck's last scene with Jimmy at the end of Season 3 when he said that Jimmy can't help himself and will always hurt people, apologize, then hurt them again.
This HAD to be the most explosive episode of the lawyer side of Better Call Saul. Everytime I watch the conference room scene 😮
25:38 "I don't like seeing this" Kevin: "I wanna see this" 😂
I love how during the Mesa Verde meeting, Kim's face is shrouded in darkness. No one knows she's the real architect behind all this.
The show depicting Jimmy bullying Howard at the same time as he tries to do so to Mesa Verde is, i think, indicative of Jimmy's mental state. Because he never coped with Chuck's death in a healthy way, the traumas associated with all of that are instead transposed to those who remind Jimmy of Chuck. So Howard and other well-off businesses that remind Jimmy of the world Chuck thrived in. Its the same reason he got so wound up while they were giving away scholarships but refused the shoplifter that Jimmy wanted to give a chance to.
Kim's marriage proposal sort of ties back to part of the reason Skyler didn't file the divorce papers. The part about married couples not being able to be compelled to testify against one another.
Jimmy told her he kept it from her to protect her, so if she were called to testify under oath she wouldnt have to lie. If they're married, he can be honest with her (and her with him) without fearing that scenario.
And, as others have said, it's another example of Kim doubling down when she could have easily called it quits.
Why do you explain this when the show explains it itself? let him watch without explaining and spoiling every single detail
@@sebaynovuelve Because Elie is on the wrong track. The marriage is not about love. It's about not being ready to end the relationship or quit the exciting ride she keeps inviting Jimmy to take with her. It's about covering her a$$ when it comes to doing anything illegal or unethical, so marriage is the obvious answer.
@@charmingjinx9379 Yeah, the show explains that in the next episode, he doesnt need that people correct him and point out everything. That's why so many reactors end up fed up with the comments in the reactions to this show.
@@charmingjinx9379Fortunately hes couple episodes ahead i believe but please still be careful with your corrections going forward.
@@charmingjinx9379 It is about love though. That it also helps legally doesn't mean it can't be about love as well. Kim naively thinks marriage will make Jimmy more honest with her, and that dishonesty is really the main thing she takes issue with, she loves basically everything else about him.
Kim has an addiction, and it's Jimmy! I feel like she's exhibiting codependent behavior, which is something you see in children of alcoholics.
EXACTLY THIS. "true love" my ass lol
YESS!!!! She has a lot of childhood trauma. Her mother was an alcoholic and most likely a narcissist.
The first time I watched the end of this episode, my thoughts were:
Kim loves Jimmy too much to leave him. She knows the only way they can stay together if he’s going to keep doing this stuff is to get married so when the shit hits the fan, she doesn’t have to say a word against Jimmy.
It really pisses me off how Jimmy treats Howard. It's so petty and malicious. Howard even apologized for not standing up to Chuck back in the day, and straight up told Jimmy he needed him back at HHM. He could maybe even have negotiated coming on as a partner and being the "M" in HHM, and if not part ways in peace. At this point Saul is just saying "I don't want peace, I WANT PROBLEMS, ALWAYS!!".
Don't make enemies you don't have to. Howard certainly isn't perfect, but no way in hell he deserves this shit.
Also no Jimmy was incredibly hateable in this episode
Another reminder of what he ends up becoming
Howards a good guy on god
That D C Hillary thing.... if that was off the cuff man, respect. Made me laugh
It was off the cuff but what did i say again Hilary Duff joke?
I love how he uses his past tactics feed into his current schemes and foreshadow his future tendencies. And those videos man 😂
Very reminiscent of the Jesse's House deal scene

Yup.
Comment for the UA-cam algorithm 🎉🎉🎉
Yup... Sitting down to check out this reaction right now. This episode has one of the most brutal, shocking scenes in the entire series. Probably for me, in the top 5 biggest shocks. Mind boggling. B R U T A L .... LMFAO. Looking forward to it...
I wonder if your view on the Chuck distance is due to timespan in which you've watched the show.
It's definitely a different era of the show but Chuck's presence never really left for me; his shadow looms over all.
Before Chuck B.C and A.C.
When I was watching the series at this point, I had exact same thoughts, that Kim and Jimmy have this unreasonable hatred towards Howard, and I didn't really understand why they are so mean to him. Howard was a bit spineless when he was essentially a puppet for Chuck, but he didnt have much of a choice in that situation and I really think Howard personally always liked Jimmy, so it's sad to see how much they hate him.
He is no longer the world's second best lawyer, as he said few episodes ago
Its funny that you always go "is it just me?" or "am I the only one?" when talking about how Jimmy is a scumbag. Its Saul Goodman we're talking about here! The guy who later helps Walt build a drug empire! The show is about him becoming a scumbag, when he does blatantly scummy things you should probably assume you're meant to see him as a scumbag.
Also interesting to note that Kim doesn't change her mind on the morality of their plan against Mesa Verde, she just was scared of the risk. Jimmy sounds ridiculous spouting off about how it all went to plan at the end, but it DID go to plan, it was what she wanted. "You played ME" is the issue, she was fine when it was her and Jimmy playing everyone else. Of course, not a defense of Jimmy.
Despite my dislike of Kim's behavior to this point I am happy with the end result for Olivia Bitsui.
It's ultimately the full measure of what Kim genuinely was aiming at with this situaiton/a bit of the idealized version of Saul that Jimmy detailed to Howard in Namaste.
The showrunners have wooed you with the fun antics and likeability of Jimmy McGill...
But did you forget who the showrunners are? lol
What he did to Irene was effing horrible.
YUP
"get married" LOL THAT BLEW MY MIND they are insane, I had the same reactions I first wanted to slap kim, strangle jimmy, was thrilled to see Kim put her foot down, and then FLIPPED MY FUCKING TABLE when she said marriage
but she said that cuz husband and wife cannot testify against each other in court, purely transactional purpose tbh. the "they are in ~love~" crowd will come forward and disagree tho
I mean... yes that's the reason for it but all you have to do is watch the next episode to see that they are clearly in love and genuinely happy to be married to each other. So... it's both?
@@murphsmurf87 their joy is akin to drug addicts being genuinely happy to have their next hit. i get that they love each other just because emotions ran high doesn't mean it was healthy at all. lots of toxic relationships have these honeymoon periods
@@pencil6965 Sure I don't disagree that it's a toxic/problematic relationship but I also do think they genuinely love each other.
@murphsmurf87 it's love that's coming from a place of ego/self-interest but I get what you mean
Howard doesn’t deserve any of this…
I find it really funny how Jimmy throws the most absurd allegations at Kevin’s dad and Kevin feels the need to defend every single one like “my dad was never involved in terrorism!”
I had a friend who was so upset at this part of the story telling. She claimed Saul was a funny, loveable guy in BB who never really hurt anybody and the writers were trying to make her hate him. Ummm... He didn't just crawl out from under a rock one day knowing how to work the system.
He sugested killing Badger, Hank, Jesse though
Saul has, shall we say "unorthodox" methods, but he did right two wrongs on the close. As a graphic designer, I appreciate his going-for-the-throat reveal on copyright. Keep in mind, Saul's hard hit with the Mesa Verde slander commercials, is just his manipulative leadup to get what he wants for his clients. Of course, Saul did not intend to use those commercials, the price for the artwork is very fair, and he got a good settlement for the old dude.
the commercials are part of why I don't understand people who say Saul is actually a good guy who "cares" lol people who care about how they affect others would never ever ever take things that far. he likes creating chaos and confusion because it allows him to usurp control over the situation. a pretty narcissistic tactic tbh
the prostitutes were SO cringe omg
Elie! My man, keep shooting ur shot!
I love that you’re one of the only reactors who doesn’t find all the shit Saul is doing to Howard funny. He is being such a dick to him for no reason. Even the shit with Kim & Saul, at least until Saul dropped those 4 figures lmao, but then right back into being frustrated & annoyed with Saul but what did Kim really expect? This is all her fault for being an enabler for Jimmy!
although jimmy has probably done worse things then he did in the episode I really disliked him in this episode and I think the reason my is because the old guy wasn’t mistreated in any way
Do you remember the Saul ad in Breaking Bad
Can you believe the best stuff is /still/ yet to come?
You are mad over something she asked for … Saul had no idea who Aker was period
Oh it's going to get worse for Howard. Just you see...
Jimmy's going to sink even lower too. You'll see.
Elie isn't missing anything. Saul is indeed an a$$hole. But it's still funny.
stop soft spoiling things
Lol this is my fav one so far 😂 Lol that face tho elie😂❤
