  • The Hospice and Palliative Medicine Fellowship at Mayo Clinic's campus in Rochester, Minnesota, is a unique intraprofessional fellowship that trains both physicians and advanced practice clinicians as a single fellowship class. The intraprofessional class and the robust interdisciplinary hospice and palliative medicine teams provide advanced insight and expertise in team-based care and the various roles intrinsic to quality palliative care.
Fellows develop exemplary clinical skills by applying palliative principles to the management of complex illness across the full spectrum of hospice and palliative medicine. Fellows rotate through inpatient, outpatient, consultative palliative medicine, and pediatric palliative medicine on the Rochester campus and inpatient and home-based hospice through Mayo Hospice.
This clinical training, coupled with didactics and opportunities in quality improvement and research, prepare our fellowship graduates to become academic leaders in hospice and palliative medicine.
We thank you for taking the time to hear from departmental and fellowship leaders, in addition to hospice and palliative care fellow graduates, to learn more about not only what makes our program robust and unique but also more about training at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN.
