Day 2 of quitting. Felt a bit anxious and a little bit depressed but that feeling doesn’t last forever. I know I got this! The inner drive to get weed out of my life is so much that nothing can stop me!

just hit 40 days on my third attempt to quit and realize I have no support system, most of my friends are dead from decades ago and the few I have left are scattered across the globe & are all stoned on smoking /edibiles letting me know that when I see them in person I 'll have to use with them . I tried MA & its so depressing . I want to go to the gym but there was another teen gang shooting in front of my home this morning. Good times. I appreciate you and your message for those isolated / shut in . Im going forward. Thank you

right on Dj, congrats on 40 days. Huge. It definitely took me a while to find a tribe of people I could connect with. At the end of the day though I enjoy my own company the most which only came from spending a lot of time alone. I don't think I would want to go to that gym either. I'm a big fan of the iron home gym, pull-ups and pushups can always get the job done. What city do you live in?

I’m right there with on the 40 day mark, congrats. I’m attending NA meetings because smoking weed and drinking where both a big problem. I’m finding support there, but I also understand that it might be depressing for others. Just hang in there for now, and fuck anybody who needs you to use drugs to hang out. Find new friends when you’re able and ready because people who needs you to use to be friends, aren’t friends. 🙏

Bro don’t punish yourself I been smoking for 12 years I grow my own so got a looooootta kush and I’m tryng to quit too. But bro don’t feel bad cause you see other rich dudes talking about how easy it is and how good it’s gonna be your life once you quit. Cause it’s not. I stoped for 4 months. The worse 4 months of my life. Depressed. Paranoid. Coudnt sleep at all. Nightmare. It was shit. Now I understand I love weed but I need a balance so I’m only smoking at night. Cause i sleep like a baby and I wake up so motivated. But when I stopped. My life went really down. So just think about this, wouldn’t be harder to stop completely than if you try to reduce a bit every day? Just take it easy bro don’t think about it. Just say , I’ll smoke when I really feel like I need it. Not because I’m a addict. Mindset. And then do what your body tells you but never feel sad or low cause of other people lives.

@CodingMindsMadrid Acknowledging your journey of "trying" to quit.. You'll have to endure a week of nightsweats to get it out your system. Or take melatonin,. After that week you'll rest much better & not have to use weed to sleep

Over 3 months without smoking after burning for 36 years. The first month was very difficult, hard to sleep and no appetite. 2month it got a lot easier, now on the 3rd month it's getting a whole lot better. Once in a while I can smell it and a thought hear and there but the desire to stop is stronger then the temptation to get a bag. I don't want to disappoint my wife and kids or lose my job that I got when I stopped burning . Life has been a whole lot better but I do miss some good skunk bud Once in a while honestly.

This is like my 5th time trying to stop and I’m furthest I’ve ever been. I’m on day 6!! My tips are slowly start weening yourself off, smoke ONLY at night after doing your daily duties. Only exception was working out/cardio helps ease the mind. Slowly you’ll train your body to get tired at night. Then practice killing your body with intense cardio/working out for a natural body tired and smoke one bowl. After like 3 days of doing that try without the late night bowl. your body will know what to do! We can do it!!

This “pink cloud“ that you’re referring to is just the novelty of being present again, and back to reality. Not actually a physiological thing. I think you can keep it going forever if you just journal to yourself as a reminder of how it was when you were stoned every day. I’ve been off the stuff for a couple weeks now and I’m more social than I’ve been in a while but it’s the real me. No reason it has to stop. The keywords are DON’T FORGET

@@SobrietyUniversity You were so right about the “pink cloud” phase. Initially, when I quit cannabis, I woke up every morning with a zest for life and felt so much more present. It was actually a physiological sensation and was a high, in and of itself. Every new day was an adventure but now that sense of elation has worn off. I’m really hoping this returns to an extent because it was extremely helpful? Maybe I’m just going through a temporary lull? I’ve been clean for nearly 4 months now but that zest for life has ceased for the moment. I’m seriously lacking in motivation to move onto the next phase of my life and I’m just waiting for inspiration to strike somehow some way?

@@scottrap First, great job reaching almost 4 months. That's amazing, you've come along way since you first commented. Bad news, I wouldn't count on waiting for it simply returning. I found you eventually have to go out and start creating your own magic. Trying different things and going through the trial and error process of regular live. If you start working towards thing, you'll be surprised by how fast things can move and that you get to be responsible for feeling good.

Quitting weed is insanely hard. Been smoking for around 12 years now and my finances were screaming at me (the wife too) lol and it only made me more depressed. Its my 2nd day of no smoke and it abso-fucking-lutely SUCKS. The constant thoughts of "you need a better job", "you need to stay healthy", "you need a good hobby", are exhausting. I feel like the walking dead already. Explain to me what's the damn point of it

    • @SobrietyUniversity
      @SobrietyUniversity  11 місяців тому +1

Yes, it may be one of the hardest things you do in this lifetime. Success isn’t easy and takes work and effort. It sounds like those thoughts are your intuition talking and they’re probably repetitive because you aren’t taking action on them or have been delaying that part of your self development for quite some time now. You get to decide what kind of life to live and you can either put in the work to have that successful fulfilling life or sit back and watch life go by. As they say, embrace the suck. It will make you a stronger man and I’m sure your wife will appreciate having a strong virtuous man that takes care of business

Menial tasks that I would enjoy high, like mowing the yard, going on a bike ride, and relaxing with friends genuinely sucks. I can barely motivate myself to do anything. I am pissed off and angry at everything. I don’t smoke cigarettes, I don’t drink, and I don’t take pills! I am
Completely stressed out and over emotional about everything. I know it is not for everyone, but herb is my medicine, and I’ll be damned if anyone can to tell me it is not. Did anyone feel a sensation in the back of their skull that spread down to the spine then all over the body. Kinda like a warm feeling then you feel numb and need to breathe as your body feels stiff and cold?

That sounds intense made. Thankfully I did not. Sounds like potentially the signs of a kundalini awakening

Anyone get dry skin or sore throat from smoking? It always makes my skin dry, and my throat gets sore from the hot smoke being inhaled. 😢

Oh I never give up, I’ve quit drinking and cigarettes and that was a pain too but it didn’t give me this type of anxiety and depression, and the sweating, and anhedonia in general and I was diagnosed with buegers disease and gastroparesis so hard to focus on any good but I know it’s my brain trying to lie to me and I’ll keep pushing it just sucks, right now

Just hit 4 weeks today. No desire to smoke. The crazy dreams have subsided. I still dream but they are what I remember dreams being, kinda weird, but forgettable.
Emotionally I feel good, I was really irritable for awhile there. But, that has passed and I feel balanced. I'm not elated. Just kinda...normal. I have SO MUCH MORE TIME. That's the most surreal part of all of this. It's been 4 weeks, but I feel like it's been months since I've smoked. I started a new business. I jumped a level as a boxer and I feel very healthy. I also don't get drunk, every once in a while I'll have a glass of wine but that's it. I also don't watch porn (which is honestly the best decision I've made, it's really really whack. I don't wanna tell anyone how to live, but I gotta say, porn is not good.) Anyways, staying strong and showing up for myself. Stick with it, guys, you got this!

It's for real. Smoking pot becomes a part of a routine and when repeated routines break, people get anxious inherently because they are not used to it because routines become comfortable after a while.

Forsure. Replacing those harmful routines with healthy ones makes a world of difference

Got a month and a week clean after 25 years of daily smoking. The days are excellent, a good bit more energy and desire to be productive than before, but the evenings are still usually characterized by anhedonia.
But I know it’ll be worth it. All the weed did by the end was make me okay with being bored. I don’t want that anymore. I want something more. And I know I’d never find it if I kept on the path I was on.
Many evenings, that little voice tries to tell me it’s not out there…but I’m choosing not to accept that. I’m going to keep plugging away. It took me more than a couple months to dig the hole I was in, it’ll take longer than that to get out.
That’s what I’m choosing to believe anyway, even if I don’t feel it right now. Thanks and love from TX 🫶
