Well, maybe the faster card will be useful in the future though. I bought a 1TB A2 on a really good sale the other week for $55 so it made sense. Working great on my LE OLED.

@@benedictpayot9527 I had a similar problem. For me the solution was to change my hold/grasp of the steam deck. Definitely fix this as poor circulation can cause damage to your hands in the long-run. (i.e. arthritis)
I ordered an OLED steam deck for all the little extra improvements (because I already wanted to get a steam deck anyway), but OLED itself is a huge gimmick. The lighter weight is a genuine positive, especially for handheld devices (to be clear in the deck's case it's not about the 30g difference in the final product, but about the fact that the screen is actually way more than 30g lighter and they used most of those weight savings on upgrading the battery and cooling system, which are the big reasons I'm buying an OLED deck over an LCD one), but be aware that you are either going to deal with drastically reduced image quality on a much shorter timeframe than an LCD (to the point that in a couple of years you can expect your OLED screen to look worse than a LCD screen would after two years, and the colour balance to be way off), or with replacing your screen every year or two to get around this issue. This is because blue OLEDs decay faster than red and green OLEDs, and all three decay MUCH faster than LCD filters on a regular LED-lit screen. This has been an issue since the technology was invented and while there's been a lot of work done to get around it the solutions still generally boil down to variations of "run twice as many blue OLEDs at half brightness so they decay slower," "adjust the colour balance once a month" and "just replace it; what are you, poor?" I would never, ever buy a piece of technology just for an OLED screen, because the blacker blacks and lighter weight do not make up for the short lifespan imo.
So I was debating if I should get the 512 of 1 tb but it seems like your 512 is just as good as the 1tb if not better so I might just copy and paste play it safe
I need some help with my steam deck, there was nothing wrong then I must’ve pressed the wrong button when it was on desktop mode. Now I’m using the pointer on the touchscreen. Dude I have etched glass & wanna add a screen protector, is there anyway around it??? I don’t wanna make my desk glossy & matte protector gunna make color more dull!
Not really, sadly! You have to either take the hit and make it glossy or reduce image quality via an anti-glare protector. Best thing is to be really careful with it and use a case at all times!
Can you put anti glare protector on an etched glass screen protector. I have a LE steam deck and i love etched glass but i also want to protect the screen… worried about being too blurry with double anti glare glass property. Can you test this?
Sadly I can't test this as I don't have a 1TB model with etched glass to test it with :( I think it will affect image quality but hopefully not too much? Depends how much you want to protect the screen! I will test the modcase face plate on the skull & co soon too, I'll get back to you.
I also have the LE and am torn about screen protectors with it. My main concern is whether a screen protector's adhesive would harm the etching over time. If I do put one on, I will probably just use a glossy to get the clearest image. I do really like the etched effect on reflections, though. I kinda wish Valve hadn't forced the etching so we could just choose a screen protector to get a similar effect or not.
I have the 1tb model. I bought an anti glar screen protector. I cant see any overall difference. It's worth the security feeling. So i suggest doing it.

Disclaimer that I haven't tried it or anything but speaking from the standpoint of physics, depending on the adhesive used and the microscopic structure of the etching, it should at least be possible. If the adhesive's molecules are small enough to snugly fit in the trenches from the etch it should make the etch completely invisible while the surface of the protector becomes the visible surface of the screen. Think about what happens when you wet the surface of matte translucent plastic, the way it becomes fully transparent instead. Same concept.

"An extra line of code" and "so easy" in the same sentence. Welcome to the world of Steam Deck tutorials.
Of course I'm sure by "code" you mean something akin to the difference between "TREE" and "TREE /F /A" but that's the thing. All these Steam Deck tips, tricks, and tutorials seem to vary wildly when it comes to expertise levels, and you don't know until they either start dumping Linux commands on you like you're fluent in it, or say something like "you can turn it on using the power button."
Entering code is easy when you're following a guide. Copy & paste, done. You don't need to write the code from scratch yourself.

So if I have a game pass, then I can play all my games on steam deck?
Game pass games yes, however they'll be streamed not downloaded so you'll need a good internet connection for it. There's now a better way of putting game pass on steam deck than the one I described in this video. I'll make a video about the new way next week!
awesome video just bought mine thank u so much
