Hi Craig, fairly new subscriber from England, UK here. I also vlog daily and was informed about your channel by a viewer and am steadily checking out your stuff. I do roping and sheeting too and the only small issue I see here is that water may still get in from the front. I try to leave extra at the front to get it as flat to the trailer as possible and sometimes even place a timber to get it super tight too. I shall give your channel a shout out next week in the hope to help you out a bunch. Keep up the great and hard work sir...
Good points cjacey, at Maverick we don't try to block all air from getting under the tarp. We feel it's better if a small amount flows through. It slightly puffs out the tarp, but more importantly, keeps moisture through condensation from forming. We also double tarp using our canvas as a first layer. Thanks for the comments!
Good question. Most steel coils weigh in the 46-48k range, so the weight has to be spread out evenly between the drive axles and the trailer axles. We load them slightly behind center for this reason.
Why is it Every time you see a flatbedder making videos it's always a maverick driver? With so many maverick drivers making videos I'm beginning to wonder if they pay drivers to do this shit.
adam shaw You fucking cry baby. Grow up, grow a pair of nuts, wipe away your tears, become a man and done get all pussy hurt because they didn’t take you. Either keep trying or move on. Not every company is going to beat down your door to hire you
Awesome video! I'm about a week away from applying with Maverick flatbed and am kind of nervous about securement and tarping. Watching your videos is definitely helping me
Great to hear! You've chosen well. Maverick will train you, and we have a lot of resources to help if you ever have questions on securement. Keep me posted!
Craig - thanks for the great videos. Can you do something that explains how you determine where the load is positioned on the trailer. What's the theory behind where a load like this gets placed on the trailer deck.
Craig brilliant footage from the hero 5 helmet cam , fantastic tarping , i see CJACEY is following you now , his channel is fantastic too and trust me you will love it lots and lots of british trucks which you like and he does excellent videos like your self well worth a look , keep up the great work and GOD SPEED
Thanks for all the great videos Craig. Glad to hear elsewhere that you are recovering nicely. Question: are those prescription safety glasses? If so, what's the manufacturer?
Thanks Michael, yes, those are prescription glasses. I got mine at Sears, but not sure if they're still in the business. If you go to a few places and ask in your area you'll find someone who carries them.
Thank so much for the video sir!!
Thanks for the comment Houssein. I hope yours come out well for you! I never considered myself a great tarper, but I got it done.
That’s a good looking tarp job
Thank you Robert!
Craig you’ll always be a Maverick man to me.
Means a lot Anthony, the high point of my trucking career and I'll always wear the hat.
Right on Craig. Hope all is well.

Craig Ryan Aw I see. Thanks Craig
I'll be watching cjacey! I love seeing the dashcam and trucking form across the pond.
Way cool! Often wondered how those coil tarps were made to look so good.
Thank you!
Great work. What determines where this particular load should go on the trailer? Shouldn't it be up near the cab? Thanks..

No, but I sure wish so!
@@CraigRyan They lied to me and said they don't have anything in my area. Funny there's 3 positions on their website. Fuck em.
So you going to give up? Think about it and keep calling until you get the answer you want. Or just give up.

I'll try, thanks Rick!
Did Maverick teach you to fold under like that?
Yes, I believe that's pretty close. Every driver does details their own way after a while.
Lovely work there Craig......nice job well done
Thanks Gabriel!

*NOT SAFE TO GO UNDER THE TRAILER!!*
Don't understand why, easy to bump your head though.
Craig Ryan the trailer can tear apart and smash you to the ground
Oh give it a rest.
