- I BOUGHT 5 F-SERIES FORDS IN 1 PLACE , GET SOME RUNNING AND KEEP THE OTHERS FOR FUTURE POJECTS
SO WHAT IS BACKSHED ALL ABOUT ?
WE ARE ALL ABOUT SAVING OLD CLASSIC CARS AND MODIFIYING SOME ALONG THE WAY TOO.
WE LOVE THE CLASSIC RESCUE , FIRST WASH ,FIRST START IN YEARS TYPE OF THING, GETTING OLD JUNK RUNNING AND DRIVING THEN PUT BACK ON THE ROAD AFTER YEARS OF BEING LEFT TO ROT IS WHAT WE DO.
IT DOESN'T MATTER IF YOUR INTO FORD , HOLDEN , CHEVY , BIG BLOCK SMALL BLOCK OR ANYTHING IN BETWEEN WE MIGHT HAVE A VIDEO FOR YOU TO WATCH. IVE HAVE AND HAVE HAD A LOT OF CARS INCLUDING XB COUPE , XY FACLON GT , EH HOLDEN , F100 , VB COMMODORE , HQ SEDAN AND WAGON , CORTINA , VALIANT AND SO MANY MORE SO THERE IS SOMETHING FOR EVERYONE. IN ON OF OUR VIDEOS I PRETTY MUCH WENT TO HEAVEN FINDING A WRECKING YARD / JUNKARD WHERE THERE WAS EVERYTHING YOU COULD DREAM OF INCLUDING A MONARO , CHARGER , VALIANT PACER , A FALCON COUPE , TORANA , CADILLAC , SOME CHEVY'S EVEN SOME JDM CARS LIKE DATSUN , NISSAN SKYLINE , MITSUBISHI SCORPION BUT IT DIDN'T STOP THERE EVEN 4X4 LIKE A HJ 45 TOYOTA LANDCRUISER AND A 60 SERIES WAGON . I REALLY HAVE NO BIAS I LOVE RESCUING THEM ALL SO DO STICK AROUND AS YOUR BOUND TO SEE SOMETHING YOU LIKE. CHEERS FOR TAKING THE TIME TO WATCH . MICK
Mick, torch the rusted bolts up until cherry red. Then immediately spray it with the hose or refridged H2O. Heat- Quench process pulverizes the rust & breaks surface tension. This works very well most times.
🍺🍺👍
Such a cool old F100. My Grandfather bought a 78 like that red on black brand new when I was 5. Last truck he ever owned before he passed away in 82. These trucks remind me of the good ol days.
🍺👍
Bugger wish my mechanic was as quick as you mate, front suspension in under 5 minutes awesome lol
Hahahhah🍺👍
Ever since my mate drove around Australia in a 351 Clevo LPG ambulance converted to a camper I have dreamed of owning a nice Effy!! Great work on this one!!
🍺👍
Yeah, I was gonna do that as a teenager. Plan was to buy an F100 and head off looking for work wherever I found it. Life got in the way. Now I've got an '07 Falcon Ute with a canopy on the back, but I haven't done any travelling yet...
Big thanks mate! I like vids about classic Ford trucks in Australia (South Africa and Brazil too) even more than in US.
🍺👍
Howdyyawl from the land down under. Looks fantastic. MayB some mud flaps would finish it off. Good job😊
Good stuff.
@@SimonManning-z5c cheers mate👍🍺
Love your videos and the work you do.
Always looking forward to watching your next project videos, cheers.
Cheers mate
🍺🍺👍
Gorgeous yella effy, turned out to be a real neat unit and I like the way you treated it sympathetically. Maybe I'm wierd but I really liked the flares in yellow.
🍺🍺👍
Bloody door handle works that’s a bonus right there😊
Haha🍺👍
Mick, I've seen live tests of penetrating oils. None of them are thin enough to follow the bolt/fastener threads. But guess what does? Brake Fluid does!
🍺🍺👍
This might sound stupid (probably) but with heavily rusted/troublesome studs in the past I've put another nut on the stud level with the end of the stud/thread as not to damage it and gotten my pneumatic chisel with a cheap (softer metal) modified chisel bit rounded and shortened turned the air reg pressure down and used it to just "knock" on the end of the stud to help break it loose. Inline with the stud not 90 degrees to it obviously or it'll snap off. Just sneak up on it with the air pressure setting don't go crazy and set 150psi or you'll not like the result lol using heat at the same time also helps using this method. Just my experience and others may find it stupid but it's worked for me.
Info may or more likely may not be useful for someone but its another comment for the infamous YT algorithm anyway.
Most the time on stuck exhaust bolts I opt for the oxy get the bolt nut whatever glowing red wait for it to cool and undo there’s some pretty cool induction heating tools you can buy now but I have the oxy you can have a nice controlled and hot flame there’s always more than one way to skin a cat as they say
I was expecting the dragways to go on it. Good job, just goes to show with a little bit of elbow grease...ones mans junk becomes another mans treasure 👍🏻
100% 🍺🍺👍
Definitely had some luck with just a few small things to fix. Turned out great in the end, even the bonnet.
Hi mate the yellow xlt was originally from Nowra on the south coast I reckonise it by the flares and the pinch weld all around the bumpers it was a really tidy truck a few years ago and had big money spent on it I’m only a newcomer to your channel.
🍺🍺👍
Shorten wheelbase and tray ,lower 3inches allround ,cut springs 2 inches front ,burn canopy, can front visor, smaller mirrors, pull wheel flares ,sand down yellow paint to patina finish, oil up linseed finish, zoomies, aluminium inside of tray to lighten up am and feul injection, contour foam bucket look bench seats, you'll have 50 to 65k truck mate, plenty of patina short trays out there
Big plans for such a cheap pickup. That was a while back mate she has been long since sold .
Cheers for watching David
🍺👍

Love the videos . If you’re working under the bonnet for a while drop the air out of the front tyres, get it down a bit makes a big difference. Keep up the great work

Just wondering how big the spacers that are in the front?
@@ConnorWelch-d1y 50mm mate 🍺👍
@@backshed5295 and that’s all you did didnt have to do any support mods?
@@ConnorWelch-d1y nope , just spacer
@@backshed5295 sweet as, thanks man ✌🏽
Did those old fords come with actual 351 clevland engines or did they come with 351m's and u are just calling them clevlands?? Becouse here in the U.S. they never made a pickup with a clevland. They came with 351m or 400.
Yeah they came from the factory with clevelands here 🍺👍
Did you change filter and oil before fring it up?
🍺👍
Why even keep the flares at all? Is it an Aussy thing? I think they look better without the flares
🍺🍺👍
Anybody wish this f truck was blue? Mick Taylor has entered the chat
Hahahahha yeah mate
