Primates are incredible animals, but the ones living today pale in comparison to some of the giants of the past.

Gigantopithecus seems like a pretty chill critter.
It would be truly amazing to see these great prehistoric apes back in the wild again
It really would
Shame as humans would probably destroy them as we do most
@eddiebhoy6754 Well, if nature didn't want you , you wouldn't have evolved. So blame nature if you don't like your own lot in life
Yes but through binoculars 😊
I don’t think ‘truly amazing’ comes anywhere close to what that experience might be. Noooooo thank you, maybe from an attack helicopter.
Fascinating video. Just the idea of 200 baboons in a troop is terrifying. Some of these creatures would be great in a horror movie. A lot better than some of the made up monsters we see today.
Tarzan wasn't a horror movie but I remember it being pretty scary during the baboon scene...
Definitely, crazy to think that our ancestors outcompeted animals like these
There is a movie about baboons. In the Shadow of Kilimanjaro.
@@shawnj1966 I shall have to check that out. Thank you!
Man... Austrailopithicus had it rough.... its kind of amazing any of them survived long enough to reproduce
Our ancestors were tough
of all these things, i think the most horrifying notion is a hippo twice the size of a modern one.
I find cenosoic mammals far more interesting than dinosaurs.

Depends on what Creative Commons license the artwork is categorized under.
@@martinharris5017 Good point
Wait 500 years ago? Well let’s bring it back.
Great gaint baboons more nightmare fuel. If a troop of baboons is already terrifying think in those giant baboons...
No lion would dare to hunt dinopithecus cuz of their giant size and more aggressive than normal baboon
It was nice of Whoopi Goldberg to show up near the end there.
I wondered if anyone else saw her. lol
Excellent presentation, I’m subscribing
Awesome, thank you!
Another fantastic video😊
Thank you !
Another interesting video 😊
Thank you!
Sometimes this gives me the idea of why so many human cultures have creatures like ogres, giants, and trolls. The mirror of a creature almost like you but obviously not defiantly left a genetic scar on us.
This feels like AI
It is
GREAT VIDEO
Thank you!
Gelada are specialist grass eaters. I wonder if their giant sister species was, too.
Yes
Nice!
Thank you
❤
Fantastic video😊 by the way the orangutan's DNA can be altered to turn it into its prehistoric version and the lemur's DNA can be altered to turn it into its extinct version(giant lemur)
Put it on the cloning list
Apes are already so scary and so strong I couldn’t imagine to kind of damage one of these big boys could do.
good show
Thank you! I’d have suggestions for a video topic I’d love to hear em
ok@@Sedimented.Studios
That size difference between the lemurs tho! 😳
I mean, the largest today is only 21 pounds and the two in this video are 300 AND 400 pounds?!?
I'm eagerly waiting to see those bring them back as soon as possible
😊
It wasn’t a jaw….it was I tooth I believe
4:25 So we are 500 years apart from mega lemurs!
so close, yet so far
OK imagine a world in which humans didn’t evolve and was a world of giants again and so much variety of everything
It would be fantastic to still have these animals around, particularly the lemurs (and we could have had them if it wasn't for the Madagascans). You should also be less judgmental toward babboons - se Robert Sapolsky's work.
I’ll check it out and I would definitely like to still have them around, just wouldn’t want to meet them in the wild
'Giant Ape'
77.5kg.
Pff.
I can throw that.
That can’t be right, normal gorillas are heavier than that by a margin
Yeah a regular silverback is 195kg. Maybe we misheard or he misread? Edit: he was talking about a baboon not a giant ape with that weight class. They are primates but not apes.
lol, gigantopithecus by Google is 200-550++ kg jesus. Can you still throw it? Lol! 😂
And it could absolutely eviscerate you without a second thought
@@Birchlead actually theyre 200 - 300 kg according to a study i found
AI generated?
Interesting topic and video🙂👍 🐒🦍🦧
thank you

The Dinopithecus primates, are still around. Comprised of about only 300 individuals left.
And they are conveniently accommodated on a secret small tribal village; somewhere on planet Terra; because Humans can be way too genocidal; fo no real reason.
I've been around a few of them before... And they are cognitively as advanced as a 7 year old Human children. Able to spell a few short phrases, from time to time. Also, great climbers, with quite strong upper body. And no; they ain't troublemakers, like the baboons are. Even though, they normally have a great appetite, due to their fasty metabolism.
The G.L.A. once, thaught one called Vassili, to pilot a simple biplane. And then gave the controls to Vassili, for half an hour. And it was smooth flying, with a perfect mid air change in direction.
If Humans, hadn't fell onto planet Tarra,; then the Dinopithecus, would control and dominate the most of the landscapes of planet Earth.
Hum not sure
