    How can she have a choice, when did this become law in our country that murderers can opt to go to court for their sentencing or not, its absolutely disgusting. Letby should be dragged, bound and gagged if necessary, to face the judge and most importantly the parents and families of those poor innocent babies she so cold bloodedly murdered. I believe it is part of her punishment to be made to face the ordeal of listening to what the parents need to say to her, who is she to deny them that right after what she has done, make her attend.

  • @elizabethsamson5591
    @elizabethsamson5591 Рік тому +9

    YES, every person, not matter who - should attend thier verdict/sentancing and be forced to face the vitrial of those families who they have harmed. Surley, it should be the familes and the victims who should have the choice as to wether they attend or not - not the perpetrator. As for the re-structuring of the NHS- it should be docotrs and nurses who move into general management- the current managers never work on wards, see an operation or have any idea how the practical mediciene/nursing structures work- they are totally separated from the practical side-all they do is look at statisitcs.
    I am a retired nurse of 33 years working in the NHS- and have had to face angry patients after many admin mistakes by one general manger who could not organise putting on extra clinics-he forgot to tell the medical teams to find doctors to run them, but told the office admin teams to fill them. How on earth he has amanged to get to be a high ranking NHS managers is beyond my comprehension.

    It's too late now those lives have been taken and sadly it may just exacerbate the hatred and no way soothe the parents grief. A better law would be to do something helpful and install cameras to monitor exactly what is going on in the hospital wards! There are no strict matrons any more and supervision is very important, our safety and care paramount. This should be the case in old folks homes and in mental institutions, in children's homes and all such facilities.

    If she steadfastly refuses to go to the Court to hear the Sentence, there not much to do about it, unless she is drugged and bundled into a chair and forced. The Sentence will be just the same, whether she is in Court or in her cell, but the poor people who lost their babies won’t see her reaction, be it total cold denial, or a young woman breaking down in the dock, with the realisation that for her, life as she knew has gone. There was a time, when a female prisoner, waiting in the Death cell, for the Hangman and attendants to arrive at the fateful hour, would collapse in disbelief at was going to happen and have to be carried to the Gallows and supported by two Warders as the lever was pulled. Maybe that would still be the best punishment, and would also save the Taxpayer. However, it’s unlikely that we will go back to those days, because Hanging is considered “barbaric”.

The management covering up for letby doesnt shock me . Those managers should also be in prison.

Either she is innocent, or she is mentally unwell. Do we still imprison people for being mentally unwell? As far as I know, the jury was only unanimous for one murder and two attempted murders. Which is still very bad of course, but it shows there is considerable doubt about her guilt among the jurors who studied the case much more than any of us.
