A nation that could arrest an autistic girl over hurt feelings but ignore the euphemistically named "grooming" scandal for three decades should have no problem with this.
What a crazy nation we have become where perpetrators get more support than real victims and their families, where saying the wrong word with no evil intent is taken more seriously than substantial claims of malpractice. 🤷🏼♂️
@mac_2468 Well, what you do is put them in handcuffs and foot shackles, and you drag them from the cell. You gag them if needed, and you stick them in the dock with large guards beside them and make them stay there
Drag her out of her cell and drag her upto that court room , its despicable how our justice system give these murderer's a choice. She murdered how many babys, did they have a choice about whether they wanted to die or not, no they didnt, so that absolute monster and anyone like her, should be forced to go to that court room and face the families of the babys she so callously murdered Even if she has to be tied to a chair and brought up that way, she SHOULD NOT HAVE A CHOICE.
Perhaps if the convict was told "If you stay in your cell for the sentencing, you will stay in your cell for the whole of your sentence", they would be more cooperative. Make the court's response fit the choice of the convict. You want isolation, you will get isolation.
Who's going to jail for the deaths of 45 babies who died needlessly in East Kent maternity units due to substandard care. An apology seemed to suffice.
How can she have a choice, when did this become law in our country that murderers can opt to go to court for their sentencing or not, its absolutely disgusting. Letby should be dragged, bound and gagged if necessary, to face the judge and most importantly the parents and families of those poor innocent babies she so cold bloodedly murdered. I believe it is part of her punishment to be made to face the ordeal of listening to what the parents need to say to her, who is she to deny them that right after what she has done, make her attend.
YES, every person, not matter who - should attend thier verdict/sentancing and be forced to face the vitrial of those families who they have harmed. Surley, it should be the familes and the victims who should have the choice as to wether they attend or not - not the perpetrator. As for the re-structuring of the NHS- it should be docotrs and nurses who move into general management- the current managers never work on wards, see an operation or have any idea how the practical mediciene/nursing structures work- they are totally separated from the practical side-all they do is look at statisitcs. Not sure I’d want everything nurses see on camera. It would invade the privacy of the patient. Imagine them giving a bed bath or fitting a catheter. She should be informed before hand that If she begins to start screaming & shouting at the families of the children that she murdered then she will be gagged!! harsh yes but fair & at least she is being given the opportunity to live which is more than her victims were given.
It's too late now those lives have been taken and sadly it may just exacerbate the hatred and no way soothe the parents grief. A better law would be to do something helpful and install cameras to monitor exactly what is going on in the hospital wards! There are no strict matrons any more and supervision is very important, our safety and care paramount. This should be the case in old folks homes and in mental institutions, in children's homes and all such facilities.
If she steadfastly refuses to go to the Court to hear the Sentence, there not much to do about it, unless she is drugged and bundled into a chair and forced. The Sentence will be just the same, whether she is in Court or in her cell, but the poor people who lost their babies won’t see her reaction, be it total cold denial, or a young woman breaking down in the dock, with the realisation that for her, life as she knew has gone. There was a time, when a female prisoner, waiting in the Death cell, for the Hangman and attendants to arrive at the fateful hour, would collapse in disbelief at was going to happen and have to be carried to the Gallows and supported by two Warders as the lever was pulled. Maybe that would still be the best punishment, and would also save the Taxpayer. However, it’s unlikely that we will go back to those days, because Hanging is considered “barbaric”.
