- Forging a knife from a pipe wrench
Its been a while since I made a cool throwing knife and I have never made a throwing knife from a pipe wrench. I decided to hot punch the holes to make the knife more fun to play with but also for the balance. This throwing knife is very well balanced and can be thrown from the blade or the handle.

I actually am in love with the design. I love how crisp the bevels with the flats, and the design too. Absolutely wonderful. Keep up the good work
Just when I think you can’t make a cooler knife, you post this!
All forging should deserve more subs beacuse they are working hard

Bladesmiths are the Rembrandts of Repurposing!
I’ve got a pipe wrench with part of the handle broken off. This was my exact idea. Well, minus the throwing part. I was just going to make a sheath knife. Yours is sweet tho! I like the overall shape of it.
Coolest knife ive seen in a while
Sweet! Another weapon for the CW's Arrow!
Jake is the best knife maker !!
Great Job bro always intetesting video 😉
Looks awesome
that's a badass boot knife
That anvil costs maybe $50 USD. Not judging, just saying. You don't need a $350 USD 75lbs. anvil to do this. Knowledge is more valuable than money.
Samual Iam and he adds to the weight with the chain
The chain is simply to hold the anvil in place. Its the quality of the steel that matters. The anvil he has appears to be the $50 USD one you can get from Northern Tool, Harbor Freight, etc. Its steel is considered "inferior" because it does not have the proper steel nor was it tempered properly. All that aside it really doesn't matter too much because if you have the skills then the tools are just extensions of your arms. Iv seen smiths use stone anvils and make some fine quality items.
You can always weld a piece of tool steel on the face. It'll do just fine.
Samual Iam arent there holes for bolts on the base?
@@samualiam9981 The Chain is not to hold it in place, it's to absorb the hits of the hammer and put the shock back into the knife
Awesome knife.👍

Am I lost or something ? Are pipe wrenches obsolete already ? Dang it seems like pipe wrenches are the most readily available medium for knife makers 🤔
Just easy to get
Far from obsolete but I wouldn't ruin a vintage pipe wrench.
