I've watched your videos for many years and can honestly say how much I think you have really enhanced the FM community. One thing I've never seen on this channel, Is where you take one player and we see who he develops over the course of his career and what steps you may take in making sure he has the best start, middle and end. Just an idea, As I really enjoy your youth player videos and it's what I enjoy most in the game. Many thanks and keep up the good work sir.
I have been doing that on Twitch. Maffei is the player I am focusing on. Should have seen him when he first appeared on my team. I did the whole thing, I added a note in the notebook, set his sessions up. Then focused on him, he kicked up a storm, wanted to leave for 60m. I decided to loan him out instead to Ajax and then when he came back, I returned to developing him slowly, rotating him on and off. Finding the perfect games for him. He has simply exploded.
@@BusttheNet same goes for when they say it has no benefit? Tbh the coaches involvement here is a bit of a let down (game design wise), as your coaches should give you way more information on optimum individual training than merely saying what players think. The only advice I ever got from coaches was set pieces for clear set piece takers... like "your corner taker needs to practice corners"... thanks Einstein. Great to see you earn your salary...
@@3teff I ignore coaches advice all the time, because i have a really simple way of playing. They need to improve X attributes in the team. Once they achieve that I move them onto other programs. For the same effect from an asst man, you need the right type to match your style.
Good video as usual. I have a few questions regarding a few different situations: 1. If your wonderkid is good enough to be a first team regular does he still need the break in play you suggest? 2. If your reserve team plays in a league structure (Germany, Spain) can the II/B team be considered first team football since they are playng in a league structure? 3. If your league has limited games in their reserves (Australia only has like 8 reserve games) should the wonderkid play more in the senior side to compensate?
1. Depends on age. If he is 18 yes. If he is 17, not necessary if he has the right personality 2. Good question. That is an appropriate competition for average players but not for those you expect to see play in the first team. So if they are good 4 star players you either play them or loan them out. If you loan a player out to a good side then he plays at a higher level, which is what we want. Again his attributes will dictate the level of competition. 3. Yes, but again I would rotate him on and off, you need to avoid Fatigue.
Not anymore, we had to do that in FM19, in FM20 you can improve the attacking attributes with some sessions. If however you find that their defensive ones are already solid then just move them to the attacking unit.
@@BusttheNet Thanks, I actually still play FM 19 got some goals left to achieve there, waiting for FM 21. Do you know if there are examples for people becoming proffesional managers from playing FM? Its kind of my dream : )
I've seen at fm scout one training regime, u don't put player position in training u just add additional focus, becouse they will train anyway in position u play them, what do you think about this approach, is it better like this or stick them to role and position u want them to be and just add additional focus to players that they need it?
I prefer to train a player for the role he will eventually end up playing in so that those attributes are the ones that are being focused on. You can choose a generic position, but if you choose that you leave it to the engine to decide and its not min-maxing the development of the player. For players I am not so bothered with tracking I leave it on position.

Great, clear video - boiling the key information down into 5minutes. Perfect.
Love the vid! Would greatly appreciate a longer video with detailed examples :)
Individual training - do you keep this on even when they are unhappy with it and think it doesn't have any benefit?
Been looking for an answer to this question since FM19
i want to know too
I never care about their happiness. The only time I consider changing is if they think the coaching quality is low

Players should start rotating in the first team at 18 or 16-17 is a good age if they have good atributes?
hey, nice vid! what about mentoring and player traits? do you include those when developing players?
Is it a good idea for example when developing wing backs to change them from defencing to attacking unit for maximizing training?

I think it's better to pick the role because they focus more on those attributes that are needed for that role
I'm using that routine and it works really really well.
I agree it doesn't make a lot of sense to set up like that, but it just works....

How much should you play an 18 year old that have about the same current ability as your starting player in that position?
I will still rotate him, his CA can change over time.
