@@crypticii3431 That's why it's weird. Since it's not centered around time zones, your legal age and actual age in relationship to someone else may not match up. Newfoundland time is a half hour time zone. If it's 6:30 in NFLD, it's 6:00 in the rest of Atlantic Canada, including most of Labrador. I think time zones are by far not the worst thing. Every planet would have it if its not in system with 2 stars, because then everything gets really weird
In France, not only do we have to put up with an awkward time (which is an hour too early, like Spain), we have to keep changing it twice a year. Meaning it's still dark when we get up at 7h in the morning in winter, and doesn't get dark until about 9 at "night" in summer.

First, if you believed the earth is a globe, then you must also believe the big bang theory and the vast universe, planets and stars as sun alike in a far distance and so on according to what you've been taught in school. And while flat earthers don't believe all those but only the earth as a realm and sun is local and does the rotation to give local time accurately. Therefore there's nothing to debunk in the beginning since the two are different. If you you're globe then go, if you're flat then also go.
Cheers for mentioning that very specific local oddity in Arizona! It's tripped me up before! Also, Hawaii is noteworthy because it's on Hawaiian Standard time, meaning that since it became a state, the US actually has 5 time zones!

You forgot to mention back in the 1960s when you could take a 35 mile bus route from Steubenville, Ohio to Moundsville, West Virginia where you would have to change your watches 7 times, but that’s probably not so recent I think the weirdest time zones are 1. China having one time zone across the whole country 2. Spain and France being one hour ahead of GMT, then becomes two hours ahead of GMT in the summer 3. Most of Alaska falling in the wrong time zone, where Alaska should ideally span between 9 and 13 hours behind GMT, Juneau should use GMT-09:00, Anchorage and Fairbanks should use GMT-10:00, Nome and Unalaska should use GMT-11:00, Adak should use GMT-12:00, and finally Cape Wrangell should use GMT-13:00, Alaska kinda reminds me of China where it should ideally use 5 time zones, rather than most of Alaska uses 1 time zone 4. Arizona during daylight saving time has most of Arizona does not observe daylight saving time, Navajo Nation inside Arizona observes daylight saving time, and the Hopi Reservation like the rest of Arizona does not observe daylight saving time 5. Australia has too many half hour time zones, Western Australia uses UTC+8 where Queensland and New South Wales and Victoria use UTC+10 and Northern Territory and South Australia use UTC+9:30 instead of just UTC+9 6. Nepal uses UTC+05:45 rather than GMT+06:00 7. Russia has a lot of time zones in the wrong place, eastern Russia uses UTC+12 which is right 8. Argentina falls into GMT-04:00 but uses UTC-03:00
Truth to be told, as someone who grew up in China, I thought time zones in the US is just overcomplicating things back in the days. Why don't just use one time in one country? I lived on the east coast of China, so it took me a while to realize how dumb and discriminitive it actually is. I guess the "national unity" part of this policy worked on me quite a bit.
Also in the population of the US is far more equally distributed. In China almost 80% of the population would still be using Being time if China had perfect timezones. So it makes sense to just make the remaining 20% use the time as well. In the US even though the East coast is the most densely populated part it's nowhere near by the same margin. The US has 2 coasts so it has a second densely populated section on the other side of the nation while the west part of China is pretty much deserted. It also has a lot more people scattered in the middle since the US heartland is very fertile. In China the most fertile places are in the South and therefore still roughly in the same timezone as Being is.
I am very familiar with the Arizona-reservation time zones since I live in northern Arizona. I'm stoked it got a mention in this video as the most extreme
or just not go anywhere near the Hopi Reservation. If you go through Navajo Land and end up in Colorado, Utah, or New Mexico, you just have to go ahead an hour ONCE anyways, it's the difference of when.
I have spent a total of about 8 weeks in Arizona for work in recent years and had no idea about the reservations doing something different from the rest of the state. That's pretty funny.
Is weird, toyota pulled out all of their contracts with game companies last year That means that there isn't ANY Toyota car on the most recent racing games, even the dorifto AE86 got axed.

I am from China and now live in Canada, having no problem for multi-timezones because you are not traveling across provinces everyday, right? A single timezone in one country may not be a really bad thing though, because my friends who work in Xinjiang told me that they go to work from 11am - 7pm, problem solved. As for summer Daylight Saving Time, it once created so many chaos when China applied it during the early 90s, and people are late for work/schools, missed their train/plane. Eventually government had to change back after 3 years.... sad
I live in California and went to visit the Grand Canyon a few years back. I drove back to California on the day DLST ended and ended up living the same day twice. (3:50) It is kind of awkward when you take an estimated imperial value, then convert it to a more exact metric value. It is a bit awkward to measure, but it looks to be 3475,59 km / 2159,63 miles. So if you round that to 2000 miles, you can say 3500 km.

I am a simple Arizonan , I see AZ in a video and up vote also the whole Arizona not following day light savings actually makes sense, it is sunny in AZ year round changing the time provides no real benefit, the days in winter are not that short so it works out
Indiana used to not follow daylight savings. It was great. Then the idiots in charge decided to start, even though changing clocks by an hour is terrible for you.
It’s strange because we don’t have to change our clocks here, but we still have to be mindful of Daylight Savings Time. With family, friends, business relations, and schools in other states, we have to be aware of when we’re calling or setting up meetings. Explaining to someone what time zone I’m aligned with during that part of the year can get confusing. I’ve gotten to the point that for 1/2 the year, I tell them I’m in Mountain Standard (which is what we are listed as) and the other 1/2 half we’re aligned with Pacific. TV times (when you hear about a show you want to watch from ads) can be highly frustrating to figure out to this day.
In many countries we see a tendency to use a time that is actually ahead of the actual time zone. It's as if people are not happy with the idea of the sun rising at 6am and setting at 6pm (on average between summer and winter), they want to make 7 (or even 8) to be the new 6.
Arizona doesn't do daylight savings because it already doesn't cool down very much at night there during the summer, so having DST there; having the sun set an hour later than normal, would make it unbearably hot at night.
For people from China like me, we somewhat get confused for countries with several time zones and daylight saving time if we travel there. At least for me I pretty like that all domestic news, notification or transportation timetable can be published in a unified timezone.
Fun fact: Argentina uses the GMT -3 but, so is the same hour in São Pablo Brazil and in Mendoza in the most western part of the country. Thus Argentina should be using GMT -4 in its territory
They have more light at end of the day in Argentina Sunset now 6:32pm if they change clocks back to the official time it would be 5:32pm Gives them more light in the mornings according to the clock
Kudos for correcting the pronunciation of Kiribati! For those who don't know, "ti" in the Gilbertese (Kiribati) language is pronounced like "s" in English.
If you live and work in Qatar, you fully understand how messed up time zones are. If you fly from Doha to Frankfurt, it’s roughly a 6 hour flight and Germany is one hour difference from Qatar. But if you fly from Doha to Bangkok, which is also a 6 hour flight, the time difference is 4 hours, not just one.
Germany uses daylight saving time basically setting clocks 1 hour forward in the summer When you land in Germany and came from Doha It 2 hours earlier destination compared to Qatar time zones
The big problem with comparing a USA on DC time to China on Beijing time is that China has no California. Most of its big cities and most productive areas are located near the coast, as with most nations. To generalize, many (perhaps most) the areas most affected by being on Beijing time are areas too poor and sparsely-populated for anyone in Beijing to prioritize their convenience over the convenience of the coastal elite.
I get that they don't want to have loads of time zones, but seeing as the western third of China is two hours behind in natural time, they could at least have that third be 1 hour behind Beijing. Two time zones isn't that bad really? One hour difference is easy to work out.
Though California is the nation's most populist state, the entire western half of the US is significantly smaller then the eastern half. Eighty percent of the nation's television sets are located in the Central and Eastern time zones. (This is why prime time television programs are broadcasted simultaneously in EST and CST.) The total number of congressional representatives in the Central and Eastern time zones greatly out number the total number in the Pacific and Mountain time zones.
China is just terrified of Tibet even considering that it is separate from China. It all is about the One China policy that is being pushed. It's not about convenience or politics, it is an essential component of a propoganda campaign.

@VenomousSpyro
UK, Ireland, Portugal, Faroe Islands, and sometimes Iceland have Western European time.
Spain up to Serbia have Central European time.
Ukraine, Romania, Greece, Baltics, Finland etc have Eastern European time

In France, not only do we have to put up with an awkward time (which is an hour too early, like Spain), we have to keep changing it twice a year.
Meaning it's still dark when we get up at 7h in the morning in winter, and doesn't get dark until about 9 at "night" in summer.
Spain hasn't bothered to switch time zones because they like to eat dinner late but still watch the sunset after dinner.
1 hour is not a huge change. Some people have dinner at 9pm some days and other days at 11pm or even later.
We never have dinner while whatching sunset because we have dinner at 9/10 pm, there's no time of the year that the sunset is that late.

We aren't ball-earthers, we are *_normal people_*
oh fuck
First, if you believed the earth is a globe, then you must also believe the big bang theory and the vast universe, planets and stars as sun alike in a far distance and so on according to what you've been taught in school.
And while flat earthers don't believe all those but only the earth as a realm and sun is local and does the rotation to give local time accurately. Therefore there's nothing to debunk in the beginning since the two are different. If you you're globe then go, if you're flat then also go.
Valami Izé flat earthers’ reasoning is dumb compared to a lot of real evidence an research that proves that the earth is round
Cheers for mentioning that very specific local oddity in Arizona! It's tripped me up before! Also, Hawaii is noteworthy because it's on Hawaiian Standard time, meaning that since it became a state, the US actually has 5 time zones!
It has more if you count Guam, the Northern Mariana Islands, and (mentioned in the video) American Samoa.

You forgot to mention back in the 1960s when you could take a 35 mile bus route from Steubenville, Ohio to Moundsville, West Virginia where you would have to change your watches 7 times, but that’s probably not so recent
I think the weirdest time zones are
1. China having one time zone across the whole country
2. Spain and France being one hour ahead of GMT, then becomes two hours ahead of GMT in the summer
3. Most of Alaska falling in the wrong time zone, where Alaska should ideally span between 9 and 13 hours behind GMT, Juneau should use GMT-09:00, Anchorage and Fairbanks should use GMT-10:00, Nome and Unalaska should use GMT-11:00, Adak should use GMT-12:00, and finally Cape Wrangell should use GMT-13:00, Alaska kinda reminds me of China where it should ideally use 5 time zones, rather than most of Alaska uses 1 time zone
4. Arizona during daylight saving time has most of Arizona does not observe daylight saving time, Navajo Nation inside Arizona observes daylight saving time, and the Hopi Reservation like the rest of Arizona does not observe daylight saving time
5. Australia has too many half hour time zones, Western Australia uses UTC+8 where Queensland and New South Wales and Victoria use UTC+10 and Northern Territory and South Australia use UTC+9:30 instead of just UTC+9
6. Nepal uses UTC+05:45 rather than GMT+06:00
7. Russia has a lot of time zones in the wrong place, eastern Russia uses UTC+12 which is right
You don't want one time zone over a huge landmass because earth doesn't recieve light at different places at the same time.
Nallid Of course we don't. Took me a while to realize how dumb it actually is.
think of if Hawaii was using Dc time It would be past noon when the sun start's to rise.
Imagining it being 7pm and the sun is rising
Also in the population of the US is far more equally distributed. In China almost 80% of the population would still be using Being time if China had perfect timezones. So it makes sense to just make the remaining 20% use the time as well. In the US even though the East coast is the most densely populated part it's nowhere near by the same margin. The US has 2 coasts so it has a second densely populated section on the other side of the nation while the west part of China is pretty much deserted. It also has a lot more people scattered in the middle since the US heartland is very fertile. In China the most fertile places are in the South and therefore still roughly in the same timezone as Being is.

Crazy how those reservations can affect our time zones here. I always go around the res when I road trip to CO, takes longer but less confusing
or just not go anywhere near the Hopi Reservation. If you go through Navajo Land and end up in Colorado, Utah, or New Mexico, you just have to go ahead an hour ONCE anyways, it's the difference of when.

(3:50) It is kind of awkward when you take an estimated imperial value, then convert it to a more exact metric value. It is a bit awkward to measure, but it looks to be 3475,59 km / 2159,63 miles. So if you round that to 2000 miles, you can say 3500 km.

also the whole Arizona not following day light savings actually makes sense, it is sunny in AZ year round changing the time provides no real benefit, the days in winter are not that short so it works out
It doesn't make sense anywhere in the U.S.
I love not having to adapt like all my other friends
daylight savings is a retarded concept (or rather outdated)
Every video that I see, Ubisoft is sponsoring a lot of UA-camrs of the Crew 2.
Your transitions to your sponsors are gold 😂👍🏽 Never stop making those so creative.
Time zones: exist
Rest of the world : I am going to pretend I did not see that
Arizona doesn't do daylight savings because it already doesn't cool down very much at night there during the summer, so having DST there; having the sun set an hour later than normal, would make it unbearably hot at night.
For people from China like me, we somewhat get confused for countries with several time zones and daylight saving time if we travel there. At least for me I pretty like that all domestic news, notification or transportation timetable can be published in a unified timezone.
I guess the entire country having the same time zone has its pros and cons

But if you fly from Doha to Bangkok, which is also a 6 hour flight, the time difference is 4 hours, not just one.

That makes sense
I get that they don't want to have loads of time zones, but seeing as the western third of China is two hours behind in natural time, they could at least have that third be 1 hour behind Beijing. Two time zones isn't that bad really? One hour difference is easy to work out.
Huh. I guess Urumqi, 乌鲁木齐, is a poor city that doesn't matter. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
