Wanted to let y’all know how much I appreciate when you actually link up the place that you stayed when it’s in it such a great area and a good unit. Loving your videos!
Wat Prathat Doi Suthep and practically all temples in the North and in Laos as well have two Nagas (mythical serpent-like beast living underworld) guarding the steps leading into the temple. It is believed that Naga King is the underworld ruler and is a devout Buddhist disciple. Thus, sometimes you can see an image of Buddha meditating under the tree with Naga King guarding behind with his 7 heads above Buddha's head to protect him from wind/rain. There are also standalone Naga statute along Meking River on both sides of Thailand and Laos, the most famous of which is at Nakhon Phanom with 7 heads. It might be noted that one of the largest royal barge of Thai King has 7-heads Naga as its head. The mortal enemy of Naga is Garuda (a mythical flying beast) which is supposed to be God Rama's mount. Indonesia and Thailand deem Garuda as high class mythical beast and Indonesia's National Carrier is "Garuda". Garuda is also the official symbol of Thai King, thus official document would have Garuda symbol at its head. When there is an official royal announcement from the King or Palace, the initial TV screen features Garuda for a minute before the royal text appears together with reading sound.
I stayed in Chiang Mai for a month based on your recommendation. Unintentionally, I ended up being there for Thailand’s new year and it was basically a huge water fight that lasted for a week straight. This was an amazing experience and I would’ve never ended up there without your videos. Thanks for living life in a fun way and sharing it with the rest of us!
So affordable! What an enriching, cultural, and exciting adventure in your 2023 world tour. A contrast from Europe. Diversity is what the world is all about and you are capturing it all through your traveling lens. Can't wait to see what your next country will be. Nice beer. Cheers and Stay Safe!👍🤩☘
We spent a few of our vacations in South East Asia, and we haven’t been to Thailand since Covid and the section on the temples actually brought tears to my eyes. Thank you so much for your thoughtful videos and I can’t wait for the next one! ❤
Welp, this made us SUPER excited to come back to Chiang Mai!!! I feel like we just barely scratched the surface of the Old City for the short time we were there. Also adding Nimman to our list of areas to check out as well. Great video guys, & can't wait to see y'all one last time for some Singha & Pad Thai!!!
I am so glad to have found you on UA-cam. You have inspired my husband and I to at least take a look at doing world travel similar to what you are doing. We have a dog so it might be a bit different from your experience. Thank you for leaving the link to your airbnb! Looking forward to traveling to Thailand soon! Aloha from Hawai'i!
Another great video, thank you so much! We just love you both, your videos just come across as so natural & we feel like we are there! (So many other vloggers are almost scripted!) Hopefully it won't be too long before we embark on our slow travel
Hi guys, great video! Maybe it was the angle of the shot but that kid seemed to be very close to the power lines. Glad it ended well 😂. Btw you are both hip in my book. Cheers!
Wow, I really enjoyed your video! I felt like I was with you both! From the shopping areas to the food and the temples to the new year celebrations, that was awesome and quite a show! You also found some local background music for part of it! Craft beer prices have also gone up in the US and many brewpubs in Colorado have replaced their pints with half pints at the former pint prices! I look forward to your next video and keep traveling! Cheers!
Thank you, Bob! Hoping that isn't the case in the PNW. We are looking forward to getting back to Bellingham this summer and some of our favorite craft beer. It doesn't look like we will get any until then. Thank you for watching our channel! Cheers!!🍻
Hi guys, great video. Just wondering the name of your Airbnb? You said you recommend it but I didn't catch the name. We are heading to Chiang Mai in May, TIA
Hi Allison! I've just added the link to the Airbnb in the video description so you can take a look at it for the time frame you would be staying. Thanks for watching 😊
Thank you so much for these videos. It is so nice to be transported back to Thailand without having to endure the heat and humidity (the only downside in my opinion)! I love seeing all the market stalls and the restaurant food... it looks so delicious and cheap! In one of your earlier videos you asked for suggestions of where else in Asia you should go and my suggestion would be to go to Japan. It is such a magical country and I think you would really love it. 😀
Hi, Julie, thank you for the kind words. Japan will be in spring 2024 if everything goes to plan. We are really enjoying SE Asia so will be back after we travel to Mexico this coming fall and the Philippines next winter. Thank you again!! Cheers!!🍻
I’m loving Chiang Mai!!! Can’t wait to get there. Already saved your Airbnb now, what is the name of the restaurant that was recommended to you by your 2 viewers? I’m making notes! 😃 Great video! Looking forward to more!!
You will love it here!! We love our place and the Nemman neighborhood. The video shows the name of the place that we ate at and highly recommend. It is about a 10-minute walk from the condo. Thank you for watching and safe travels. Cheers!!🍻
@@BrianandCarrie Thank you!!! I thought I was going blind. Do you know how many times I rewound the video? How many times I paused and restarted it looking for the name? 😂🤣
Outstanding video! I thoroughly enjoy watching your travel adventures. ❤️. My husband retires the end of May and then we will begin tour slow travel adventures and I can’t wait!! Chang Mai is definitely one of the places I’m most looking forward to. I was quite shocked to see those prices for craft beer! 😲. Do you have any idea why they’re so much more expensive than local beers? Looking forward to your next video already. 😁
Hi, Lorrie. I'm sure that the ingredients needed to brew craft beer are imported making the cost go up. We are guessing but seems logical. It is a little disappointing. 😒 Thank you for watching and supporting our channel. May will be here before you know it!! Safe travels! Cheers!!🍻

Hi! Yes, we will be doing a full cost breakdown after our full time in Thailand, so that will be after we visit Koh Samui. My shorter skirts have been perfect for travel - I put the link for them in the description of our most recent packing video. The long one I have on, I bought while here in Chiang Mai. It was a great purchase and only cost $4. 🙂
I also think I'd find it difficult to pay for a craft beer at that price! BUT... I'm craving a darker beer after 9 months of Superbock & Sagres here in Portugal!!!
Happy to see you are enjoying Chiang Mai. I have to agree with you about the food. Especially the local food. Chiang Mai is one of our favorite (Maybe our number one favorite) food destinations for food in Southeast Asia so far. You guys seen to like to eat like us, local yummy and great value for money 😃. I agree about the cost of craft beer... So expensive. Old Town was my favorite area to explore. Loved trying to get lost down the little sois with my camera. We were in Chiang Mai for a total of the months and will return for sure after more exploring. I'm not sure how much longer you will be there, but if you need any more food recommendations from all over town don't hesitate to hit me up. Safe travels.
So excited after watching this vlog - can't wait to get there now! We just booked the overnight train from Bangkok to Chang Mai for the 1st March. Thanks for the great vids.
Fab vlog guys. It was so interesting to see all the culture and temples as well as the modern side of Chang Mai. Amazing timing to be able to see the Chinese New year celebrations. Take care :)
Since 2014 I've had Thailand on my list for a potential early retirement place. Since then, I have moved more toward the idea of Europe instead. I am liking more and more the idea of becoming a nomad than staying fixed in a place for a long period. Thanks for sharing, definitely interesting.
We really enjoyed Portugal as a destination where we could stay long-term. We have a few videos on cost and how to retire there that you may be interested in as well. 🍻
I love your videos!!! We are living a very similar life. We are visiting Thailand September. We are starting our own youtube channel and wonder if you film using an iphone or camera?
Hi, Carrie!! We have actually simplified our gear since we started in Sept. 2021. We use the GoPro 11 for all videos outside, like this one, and a Cannon M50 for our "Informational" videos, like the one that we just launched. The Camera is better for sound and inside-style videos. The iPhones are good enough now with all the technology but finding using a GoPro or camera is easier. We did a video on this a few months back. I'll leave you the link below. Thank you for watching and safe travels! Cheers!!🍻 ua-cam.com/video/JQ5YY_fBecM/v-deo.html

Just curious, do you guys ever have days where you go off and do your own things, or one stays at home while the other has a day out, or do you literally spend every day together?? Love your videos!
We typically spend every day together! We do try to get Aibnbs that have living space other than just a studio. But, as far as everyday adventures, we are together. 🙂 Thank you for watching!! Cheers!!🍻
We just arrived in Chiang Mai today! Would you mind giving restaurant recommendations….especially the one where you guys got 2 meals for a little over $4!?
The low-cost food you can find at the street markets. Street food is really well prepared and delicious all over Thailand! We show a couple of the restaurants that we ate at in the videos. If you see a line, stop and eat!! 😃
Thank you for another great video! How do u get around the city? Is it pedestrian friendly? From the video it looks like the sidewalks can occasionally be narrow and/or blocked. Is it safe to walk in the street? Do they have good public transportation like in Bangkok? I'm glad u were able to find great food. It seems very inexpensive. But I think the beer was cheaper in Romania 😀 Safe travels!
Getting around the city is very easy! There are Tuk Tuks everywhere along with the red trucks that you see all over. Cheap and easy to jump on. They also have Grab if you wish. The sidewalks are a bit dangerous, however. Watch your step and be aware of traffic!! The beer is cheaper and better in Romania!!😆 Thank you for watching!! Cheers!!🍻
Wow🤩🤩🤩 I really enjoyed your video! Great job guys! 😍😍😍 Do you mind telling what kind of camera/gadgets do you use for your vlogs? 📷🤳🎥😁 (I'm really dreaming of staring to travel and vlogging like you guys😊🌏🧳✈️)
Hi, Sunny! We did a video a few months back on this very topic. I will leave the link below. We have simplified what we are using and have gone with the GoPro 11 for location vlogs and the Canon M50 for all indoor videos. Thank you, Felipe. We use Cigna Globel, it is more than travel insurance, it is a long-term health care plan. We have no affiliation with Cigna Globel it is just what we use.
Craft beer is expensive, so we haven't had the opportunity to try any. However, the national brands are cold and taste just fine, and are reasonably priced. 🍻
Hi Dan! I've added the link to the Airbnb we are staying at in Chiang Mai so you can take a look at it for the time frame you would be coming. Cheers 🍻
Fortunately, he wasn't too close to the power lines, the video made him look a bit closer. But, certainly more relaxed safety regulations than what we are used to. Miss you guys ❤❤
Hi Brian and Carrie. You ARE so very hip. No question about it. Another informative video with sites and facts. Do you have a routine or planned temples to visit each day? How many temples are there? Interesting that beer so much more expensive than Kao Soi dinner for two or the fruit. I can’t imagine each day being just looking for next meal. Bikes? Working out? Day trips? Continued safe and enjoyable travels. You are an inspiration for just going and seeing the world on your terms.
Thank you, Robert, for all the kind words!! There are several temples throughout Chiang Mai, too many to count!! We are really enjoying eating out and experiencing street food, but we do sometimes go back to the same restaurant. There is also a very nice grocery store nearby. As far as working out, we have a gym in our building and we tend to walk 5 to 7 miles a day, so we do get plenty of exercise. There are a few day trips out of Chaing Mai, but we have an upcoming adventure that we have saved for so aren't doing any excursions while we are here. Thank you again for the support!! Cheers!!🍻
Hello, Brian and Carrie: Hope all is well. My wife and I really enjoy your videos and look forward to slow travel some day. What I'm about to write will probably sound very strange....but the symbol of the "dragon" has far, far deeper meaning than most people realize. I'll quote from a verse written in the Bible roughly 2,000 years ago. "And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceived the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him." This quote is from The King James Version of the Bible....The Book of Revelation....Chapter 12 verse 9. The symbol of the dragon has far greater consequences to humanity than is currently understood and is associated with a yet to be understood "deception" of the whole world.

Craft beer is expensive, so we haven't had the opportunity to try any. However, the national brands are cold and taste just fine, and are reasonably priced. 🍻
494 like very nice video 💯☕🇹🇷👍🏻🙋♀️
Cool couple. Keep living life.guys.
Man,Thai fruits. Yum
Thank you so much!!! 😀
Cheers!!!🍻
Looks wonderful. U guys worried about getting sick from street food there?
Not at all, we have been eating street food every day and haven't had any problems. The food is cooked when you order it so it is fresh.
Cheers!!🍻
@@BrianandCarrie good to read that. I was thinking about the fruit and veggies…we all got pretty sick in der Türkei from ‘street’ vegetables
Do you have a link for your Airbnb? And what was the cost?
Hi Dan! I've added the link to the Airbnb we are staying at in Chiang Mai so you can take a look at it for the time frame you would be coming. Cheers 🍻
Absolutely gorgeous!! But little kid on the pole looked so close to those power lines above! Scared the crap outta me! Fantastic video B&C! 😘😘😘
Fortunately, he wasn't too close to the power lines, the video made him look a bit closer. But, certainly more relaxed safety regulations than what we are used to. Miss you guys ❤❤

Not everyone follows the rules 😞

Thanks for sharing your thoughts. Seeing how different cultures and faiths interpret symbols like the dragon is interesting.
Looks like the Bots have found your channel😳 Saw a response to a comment that was definitely NOT from you. Regarded some kind of investment scam. Guess you’ve made the big time😂
Uhg! Thank you for letting us know.
@@BrianandCarrie price of fame🙄 Take care friends✌️🙏🤙👍🍻
If you’re still here go to Dental World about $30.00 to clean your teeth.
Thanks, Dave!! We are due for a cleaning!! Crazy how inexpensive that is.
I live in thailand, please dont use indian music for thailand! haha
Chiangmai is cool but overrated. Worst place for beer. Better in northern Laos.
Well, it sounds like we need to go to Northern Laos!! 😀 We won't make it this time but plan to return to SE Asia next year. 🍻
Beautiful video as always
Stay safe Phil Belfast 👍
Thank you, Phil!
🍻
You two are tooooo cute! Do you have an Instagram or Facebook page? Enjoy Chiang Mai- it's my favorite place in Thailand. I will be back this summer! Make sure you go to the giant temple in the mountains-- and also go to an Elephant Sanctuary!
Thank you, Dan! We do have Facebook and Instagram. The links are in the description below. Thank you so much for the support and for watching our channel!
Cheers!!🍻
