Not just that, but also the fact that rock declined in popularity significantly. Back in my day, there used to be a variety in terms of the types of music you'd hear on the radio and on TV between pop, hip hop, and of course, rock. However, unfortunately, music has homogenized in recent years (probably around the early 2010s or so) and now all you hear in public are obnoxious robotically autotuned "songs" where there are literally no actual instruments being played whatsoever.

I don't necessarily think that's the case. Media companies are able to foster brands through less expensive mediums and increase their presence once proven viable. Ie inexpensive television, to film.
Never was a fan of popular culture i much perfer personalized content like i enjoy sci-fi, horror, mystery, crime dramas, action, when it comes to tv and movies im not to picky when it comes to music just not a fan of new mainstream music mainstream music from 90s and down i enjoy but when it comes to new music im an underground guy, and when it comes to podcast its horror, comedy, documentary, but i dont listen to the pods from celebrities, books i dont know if there is popular culture for that or not dont see how there would be
So what you're saying is democratizing production was a bad thing
Got it👍
Thanks…it’s a homework for an English class
The decline of pop culture-in your meaning, the *commerical* culture and entertainment industry-is a good thing. Happy to see the old gatekeepers destroyed. It's a more just world. But it's our job to fight the new gatekeepers profiting from amplifying the worst of elements of social media and hyperindividualism.
bro, are you ok?
we don't use past things in pop culture anymore
Do you think their not being a 90s or 2000s wing of said attraction holds significance?
*I think you misunderstood **_Monoculture._*
What about video games?
With how it’s segmented over 5 platforms (3 consoles, pc, and mobile) along with indie games being extremely popular in niche communities, gaming is far from a monolith. I would guess it’s closer to it than music tho
@@saratoga6663 I think minecraft gets pretty close to being monolithic, at least compared to other 2010s media.
@@sebastianmontano9979in a way even the minecraft community is not monolithic, since it's such an open ended game. You have player types divided by combat, building, redstone engineering, and exploration. And to break it even further you have players that play single player, multi player, vanilla, modded, adventure maps, different versions, different gameplay philosophies...
TLDR; it may look monolithic because minecraft managed to become it's own ecosystem.
Ok but do you really think the old pop culture icons are...role models? Like not people you should look up too any more than you tube stars. Plus there are good ones like Hank green and mrbeast just like there were some good old stars
There is a unifying culture beyond the Entertainment Industry.
LOCAL CULTURES
These get destroyed by "cultural enrichment and diversity".
25% of all People living in Germany are foreigners.
Of course People have wayless in common in a diverse society than a homogene society.
Homogenity is strength
So the anti mainstream 2010s hipster culture bullshit is to blame? I kinda knew that
I don't necessarily think that's the case. Hipster culture can be viewed as a relative/precursor as far as structure is concerned, but I think it's more a fusion of fandom culture and algorithmic sorting/segmentation (with the two possibly entangled into a feedback loop) - rather than a deliberate or conscious effort to undermine/spite "mainstream" pop culture.
@@ThatGuyBrian As far as I can remember, the hipster culture opened the gates to segregation in pop culture. We are still recovering from their antics. Back to 2010s it became cool to have a niche interest. Then Twitter inflated the fandom wars. but mocking anyting mainstream was already stablished
Hipster = woke
@@CordeliaWagner1999 No. Hipster = gatekeeping
Looking at the ultra toxic fandoms of Tyaylor Swift and The Community of Love and Tolerance OR ELSE!!! :
NOPE, don't want Pop Culture
I watched 5 minutes of your video and can't stand it. No, pop culture is not dying. What is dying is your generation, and you know why? BECAUSE IT'S NATURAL!
"Our collective culture" what culture? American culture? Mexican culture? Argentinian culture? Nigerian culture? Whom are you talking about?
Do you see anybody listening to Elvis Presley and adoring Marilyn Monroe nowadays? It doesn't die, it simply changes. Stop being so overly apocaliptical just because these changes are moving torwards a direction you disagree with. It happens.
You people are deteriorating society why but great Scott. The pop culture is dying. We must prevent this, we have to suppress the extinction of our beloved references, culture and fun, or basically saying we have to stop the extinction of pop culture
I don't care. People csn talk about the importance of diversity and 🏳️⚧️rights
Beloved franchises were destroyed for this, so who should be left to consume Disney, Marvel, Star Wars and all the others?
Go drink a Bud Light with The Modern Audience
@@CordeliaWagner1999 I say we stopped rejecting defeat and and bring back what's ours we must return everything back to normal
