Lithium & Solar upgrades! We're off on another Journey through Europe in our Camper Van. In this short video we share some of the preparations including Solar panel and battery upgrades as well as getting the van serviced and MOT'd

Hi Guys. We are really interested in your solar and lithium upgrades especially as we also have a Summit Prime 640 and would like to do something similar. We would love to hear how you get on using them in your latest European adventure and if you think it was worth doing.

Hi @janehirst2923, for us yes, absolutely 100% worth doing. We went for a 230ah underseat lithium battery (ecotree), plus an extra 2x 140 watt panels, all the electronics (Mppt controllers and B2B battery chargers etc) are victron. Everything was supplied by BlueFix in Hereford. It all sits neatly under the dining seat so you don’t see any wires or anything. The cost was just under 4K. We already had an EcoFlow Delta 2 so didn’t need an inverter fitting. The new leisure battery allows us to charge the EcoFlow too which is fab. We have been away 6 days so far and the battery hasn’t dropped below 91% yet and we’ve been using the electric kettle, air fryer and hair straighteners every day and of course the fridge is on 24/7. We have had the option of EHU but have declined as not needed. We’re in Spain currently though and it IS sunny. We could last maybe 2 days with the old 95ah battery fitted as standard so Lithium is a big improvement.
