Is it possible to add H.265 video coding scheme?
I'm happy to repeat the test/review once when compression scheme will be improved, I'm really like this camera, but test result is not that good as I expected from this kind of hardware (hardware is really good, and also bulid quality is very impressive).

DDpai performs very well. I also prefer the form factor over the A119. Some people may not agree but that's why there are different dash cams out there. For the bit rate to only be 12mb it's very good at what it does.
Hope they can enable h.265 compression scheme (Hi3556 can handle this), picture will be much better by this way., Yi 2.7k has the same CPU (Hi3556) and uses H.265 codec without overheating problems etc.

The only weak point I see with A119 is reading plates when cars are coming from the other side. I would love to see your type of comparison of the A119 on 1080p @ 60 fps vs 2k @ 30. Would love to see which does better. Love your videos, keep it up!

Plus the Viofo was not as clear, has wrong color reproduction, was washed out in some daylight scenes, and has yellow night video. It did see a little better in some night scenes.
I would like to see a DDpai mini 5 review. They claim is a 4K dash camera, but they don't say if it offers buffering in parking mode.

DDpai is much clearer and has better and more realistic color reproduction. Viofo did a little better in some night shots but was also washed out in some day shots. Plus I have always hated the yellow color in Viofo's night videos.
Interesting comparison, you could make an argument for either camera TBH.

Would love to see a comparison of A119 vs the New Xiaomi 70Mai Pro.
hmmn.. DDpai seem to display lots of artifacts during the day clip. It looked flat out awful to me. Extremely pixelated. way too much sharpness. Is that normal or was that youtube compression? The night clip seem to settled a little bit better, maybe edging a bit over the A119. Perhaps if DDpai added a higher bitrate mode then it would flat out beat the A119? As it stands, my vote still goes to A119 as a better dash cam. Like always, excellent review and awesome music! Cant wait to see the DR900S in the mix. Thanks Again.
thanks and yes, video quality is like that, please note that the DDpai uses only 12mbps @ 1600p, so compression is really low, more movement and details = more pixelated picture. Hope they can enable h.265 compression scheme (Hi3556 can handle this), with the H.265 video codec, this problem will be solved.
I liked the sharpness. The Viofo looked almost blurry in comparison, plus the colors on the Viofo weren't natural like they were on the DDPai.
Until you have had both ans zoomed the videos on a computer I am nt buying what you said.

Do you know how I update the firmware of the DDPai? I emailed DDPai directly and they sent me a file to download which updates the dashcam... But AVG pulled it as a TROJAN!
The app says I have the latest version and is up to date but the quality of the picture is disgustingly awful! Won't even read plates up close. Help!

At 37 seconds into the video, the DDpai says (in red) that the camera lens focus has been calibrated. Is there a way to calibrate the lens and if so how. Thanks
Why is it the DDPai is at a higher resolution but has half the bit rate of the Viofo, 12 mpbs vs 25 for the Viofo?

It is going to be my next dash cam. Have a Viofo WR1 which was replaced once under warranty because the video would stop recording while the audio recorded but I got no warning beeps. The replacement came with a newly and unnecessary redesigned mount which is less discrete and does not hold the camera tight enough and loosens to completely undone after driving 10 miles.
Not seeing any difference between 1080, 1440, 1600 resolutions other than objects being smaller and a little more view angle in a vertical direction for 1600. Even zoomed in I couldn't see much difference between the 3 resolutions.
Yeah ddpai is better but not enough to justify the price difference

What i really dont like in DDPAI is the fact they have a lot of cables..... PAPAGO 535 is better looking this way. but they dont have Wifi Connection
A lot of cables? I see one. Plus it has a battery. Anyone who makes a dash cam with a battery is living in the 1980's.
