    I like the virtual tour concept. It’s easy to imagine how the final route, stations etc. will look like when they have been completed!

    Well thanks for the information, I hope the construction would be done with speedy but safe way. I wish they hap some plan to extend it to Asahikawa. Hokkaido Shinkansen probably become savior for JR Hokkaido if they have solid plan with they shinkansen. I know JR Hokkaido struggle to keep all the line remain open, so I hope this shinkansen can relieve their financial burden.

    i am looking forward to this extension, cause it will give me a faster way to get to Niseko ski resort from Tokyo since Kutchan is next to niseko.

    Great video! I like this virtual tour concept you've used, it really helps to visualise everything about the route and the stations. I'm looking forward to seeing the design of the new Oshamambe Station as it gets closer to construction. I might need to plan for a ride on the conventional section between Osahamambe and Kutchan in the next few years... I made the Esashi Line a couple of months before it closed and that was a lovely little trip up from Kikonai, so am keen to see some more of Hokkaido's less-traversed lines.

    How about the Shinkansen tracks around Sapporo station? Will they use the extention tracks?

    Hi what is the operational speed for the Hokkaido Shinkansen extension to Sapporo will it be 320km or 260km?I noticed that newer Shinkansen lines such as Kyushu Shinkansen and Houdini Shinkansen all run at 260km but the Tohoku Shinkansen is 320 km so I am a little curious whether the train will slow down

    • @magnustan841
      @magnustan841 3 роки тому +2

      The extension is being built to run trains at 320km/h and by then (2031) the Tohoku Shinkansen between Morioka and Shin-Aomori will be able to run 320km/h trains, up from 260km/h now. Takeshi-san covered this all before, go look it up. So the only place where the trains will slow is the undersea Seikan Tunnel. Hope that’s useful. 😉

    Really this line just has to connect Tokyo with Sapporo directly by rail, it doesn’t seem to make sense to build those intermediate stations. But wherever the Shinkansen goes, towns, facilities and businesses sprout out around it, so I could be proven wrong in 10 years time.

    • @mikegaskin5542

      Every prefecture that the Shinkansen passes through must contribute to the construction cost, so local governments don't want to pay for a Shinkansen line that will just pass by them without stopping. They want to get some benefit out of it for their residents.

  • @Numplus

    At first, I thought that the Shinkansen will terminate at Shin Sapporo Station. 😅
