When I type the "Run root-mac.sh" all I get back is "-bash: Run: command not found". Any ideas?
I'm not too familiar with macs, but is your command prompt pointed to the folder you transferred those files to?
Yup. The file is right there. I looked in the BIN folder on my Mac and there is no Run command in there.

I've been watching your videos for some time now man, and I've been rooting for a while. Phones have came a long way. Thankful for your videos. I don't see the point for my personal use to root anymore. It seems like the long way around to get minor tweaks as Skins and or Android period has filled in most of those gaps. Yea, you can get rid of unwanted apps and restrictions. Plus AOSP has terrible camera software & that's why pictures come out bad even when put on a good camera device like a Note 3 or S4. It's more then a hardware thing.

My phone does not take me to unlock bootloader screen any help? my computer does not my detect my phone when it is in fast boot either.
Go to settings and then go to about phone and scroll all the way down and keep pressing build number untill it says you are now a developer. then go to developer options and press allow usb debugging. now it should work:)

just got my nexus 5!! hooked up on sprint i got the 32 gig black.. rooted running stock rooted with faux kernel im loving it!!... this is my first nexus phone.. im dont with htc and samsung.. gonna stick with nexus phone from now on

As always, good vid QbKing... Just wanted to point out one simple item, it is not necessary to press the volume up key to get into bootloader. You only have to hold the [Power + Volume Down] and it will get you there.

i have rooted the mobile thru the steps as shown in the video.
after rooting while checking from root checker it is showing that u r device do not have proper root access

im already unlocked but my root acces has gone after a CWM restore, can i just press no when it asks for unlocking??
hmmm another problem, I don't have a SU binary installed and SuperSU can't install this, it tells me that I need to re-root.
Is there a specific method I need to follow since I used CF's method to root the device or is there another method I can follow?
so when i did all this why doesnt supersu show in my app section anymore.. it used to now its gone.. what do i do?

What if there's a sudden power outage during the rooting process? What will happen to the phone if the PC got shutdown instantaneously?

i followed every step in this video, but when i connect my phone to the pc while at fastboot mode and press any key to continue , nothing happened on my phone. I have tried many methods, many times, it just doesn't happen. I wonder if I bought a faulty product or forgot something. I made sure I enabled usb debugging, but it just don't work. Anyone please help me, my new nexus 5 d821 is really killing me!

Mark Thompson My apologies. I was at work and was unable to answer this. For those who have not been able to successfully complete this, download the Nexus 5 drivers and after that is complete, you should be able to successfully complete the steps in this video.
Yes, I had the Microsoft Windows7 drivers but that was not enough. Had to install Android SDK then update drivers from within device manager.
Does this work on the new 4.4.2 update? Please respond.

PROBLEM:
ive used this method once before and it unlocked/rooted my phone successfully.
i recently removed root access, but the bootloader stayed ULOCKED. now, when i try to reroot the phone using this video, i get the red android and everything seems to have worked fine. but then i try to install various rooted apps/use rootchecker and it says i dont have root access.
Flash TWRP on your pc, and boot it. Then, when exiting, make sure to allow it to root your phone.

For all those of you that get the "waiting for device" message and are stuck there MAKE SURE YOU INSTALLED ALL THE DEVICE DRIVERS, you can look if the device driver installed by clicking start, control panel, device and printers and device management thrn scroll down to your nexus 5 and click it, if it says not installed download the one of the drivers HERE: www.theandroidsoul.com/nexus-5-driver-adb-fastboot-installation-guide/ (personally, the naked driver worked for me)
