2:26 That's me! Beating my chest before the wall of death at the Gojira /Volbeat / Alter Bridge show in Glasgow ! Haha! Happy to be part of this!
Robin Brown Cool!!! 💪
You *are* the percussion :D
Robin Brown cool person alert
Holy cat Don't be jelly
agh that's my favorite part! awesome
Gojira will be remembered and honored as one of the greatest.
*THE greatest.
yeah but not because this crap
Meshuggah is nuts and all but a lot of their songs don't sound very good. They might be crazy technical shit but they just don't sound good to me at least. It's one thing to be crazy, innovative and technical with your music but it's another to do all that AND make it sound good... I think Gojira does a better job than Meshuggah on sounding better but that's just me.
Well if it isn't bout being crazy, innovative, technical etc.. your comment is about "sounding good", but isn't this relative to each of the listeners?
I did say that's just my opinion. I do respect meshuggah and some of their shit makes my jaw drop like,"are they really playing that." it's usually the songs that are extremely repetitive that I don't like and meshuggah seems to be a little more on that repetitive side.
The drummer for Gojira is without a doubt one of the best in the world. Maybe even the best ever.
You need to check out the drummer for Strapping Young Lad.
Danny Carey is so complex...
Most artful, creative, lively. Dancing on the skins. Nobody has that feel.
He’s up there no doubt, but it’s personally joey jordison takes the cake for me, or Dave silveria. There’s another name I’m forgetting about, but yeah
Idk there's some really good drummers..japanese one's too.
this is the pain nobody can describe but Gojira can...
I know right? Fucking beautiful metal
good music is still being played, you only have to search for it, not in the radio
This was actually played in the radio here in switzerland! I was so happy when I heared that the radio has a good taste in music
couldn't agree more. People don't have the patience to sift through the sands of art most of the time.
People go only for pop that's annoying
just started being plaid on the radio here in the US
Radio is full of shit, change my mind. I'm talking, obviously, about the popular stations.
A moment of silence for the people with epilepsy.
Heres a strobe light instead
Alexander Werbrouck RIIIIIP
Alexander Werbrouck I thought exactly the same
I was wondering about that....
They're having the time of their fleeting lives.
LYRICS HERE
All this evil, sanctified
You're not alone, you're not the only one
Overcrowded in your brain
You'll find a way out or you will fall
Get me out of here
I've been lost in the dark
Get me out of here
I'm locked inside me
No control over anything
I'm dying to learn, I'm dying to forget
Overcrowded in my mind
I have to let it go now
Get me out of here
I've been lost in the dark
Get me out of here
Now
Overcrowded in our minds
We'll find a way out, right now

This might be the first screaming I would call art. I feel his fucking pain. I feel my pain. All of our pain connects us all.Thats why metal is art.
That sure makes alot of sense to me..,,
Thanks!!!☆☆☆☆☆
Very well said my friend!!! And that's why I love metal also 🔥🤘🖤
Metal is art. I love it! Well said! 😎
pain is the reason I'm here... metal helps me cope with it
Gojira is 1000% the band that got me into these kind of vocals…and Joe’s still my favorite metal vocalist
So obvious Grammy couldn't really get Gojira's powerful dynamic.Too much talent to handel ...
It was more a matter of an overdue grammy for Megadeth. Magma is the better album.
Gojira and megadeth are my biggest musical influences (and favourite bands) Still it must be said i was suprised Megadeth won, Gojira have been winning everything recently and rightly so.
Why do you care? The grammies are insignificant as awards. You show ignorance saying a band like Megadeth sucks to try to justify Gojira not winning in the popularity contest / album sales awards.
Dystopia was a good album, among the best of Megadeth. The videos were quite good too, following the theme of the album through connected stories. These awards tend to be given out in recognition for past work, as the people who award them don't keep up to date with their listening habits. It's just an award, it doesn't add or detract from the quality of the product.
So basically you're mad cause Megadeth won, alright then. Have fun listening to your 1000 bands though.
Damn, Gojira is one of the best bands I've ever heard.... I know, the grammys are sh*t, but even Megadeth know that this guys deserved that prize more...... thanks for this pleasurable music
Dystopia was much better than Magma
@@VicSellsPeace as a long time Megadeth fan, nah not really. Magma has massive emotional weight and is an album played through the throws of grief and depression. The lead singers and drummers mom died in the middle of making that album.
@@VicSellsPeace
I disagree. Magma is so emotionally loaded, and dystopia sounded kinda weird, although it was also a good album.
also, Joe can actually sing and actually scream. Dave sounds like his balls are in a vice.
@@demonguysayshi2666 Yeah, to an extent some songs are more emotional - sad really, not more emotional. And say whatever you want of Mustaine's voice, a lot of people like the tonality of it.
@@VicSellsPeace
I'm not saying I don't like the tonality of Dave's voice. I don't think megadeth would be the same without his nasally snarl. BUT!
I do like gojiras vocals more.
The feeling you get when this song is played live is indescribable
I'm an old school metal head, who keeps trying to find the best new metal to satiate my jones. I still have all my old Slayer/testamnet/tallica/ Deth albums on cassette! Later progressed into Bands like Tool , SOAD, early Mastodon .. all very good for different reasons.. all heavy as all fuck and unique. Just getting into Gojira (finally after hearing ABOUT them for years). I've immersed myself in Mars, L'Savage, and Magma in the last two months, almost non stop. i can't for the life of me figure out why anyone would think Magma is shit? Granted the second half of the album drops off a BIT, there are some fucking savage tunes on that album. They are well deserving of their fame, and deserve the recognition they've acquired. Nothing pretentious about them... blue collar thinking mans metal.. This 40 year old dentist fucking loves it.
I read your post, and it tripped me out. Your taste in music and motivations are eerily like mine. There is only one place left for you to go. Technical death metal. Gojira was like a gateway drug to me. Just like when I first heard Metallica and Slayer for the first time, I thought to myself, this is too intense for me. Then I couldn't get enough. Then I started with Cynic, Atheist, and Death. Then Obscura, Necrophagist, and Spawn of Possession. Hour of Penance, Fleshgod Apocalypse, and Defeated Sanity followed. Brutal, slam, and traditional death metal. Now I like black metal. I'm an older headbanger like yourself, and have seen all of the bands you had mentioned. Check out Gojira live. They are one of the few bands that actually sound better live. They are more intense on stage than on record. All three of their live albums are testament to their intensity. Try checking out some of the bands I had mentioned, if you haven't already. Remember, it's the journey, not the destination.
Dak TirQue the second half appeals more to prog fans than just metal fans
Yess, Gojira was surreal live, completely indescribable. And I feel you about the gateway drug. I cannot stop buying tech death records.
I think on previous albums they spent more time crafting the songs, not hearing those complex rhythms like on 'Liquid Fire' or 'The Art of Dying', the song writing is purposely stripped down on this album, and some people really miss the technical wankery of their other albums.
Check out Meshuggah, dude.
Yet another testament to why Gojira is fucking Gojira.
hahaha great comment :)
YES! THIS!
AJRoo definitely true man one the most important and best bands of metal of modern times
Godjira
came across them today.......im not worthy
Seriously, Gojira has the best music videos.
Anton Tati Have you seen Tool's music videos?
Jake Pow Most of them arent official
And yet the ones that are are beyond this world.
Go see the videos by Tool. They have the best videos ever. And they are you one the best bands ever
Cold Death 969 Everyone has an opionion. What bands do you prefer?
this band is just so amazing. and I love their lyrical content. while it does deal with some dark subject matter, it is actually pretty positive in the sense of growing as a human being to overcome any of the darkness in your life.

No no no... Gojira>life
Yeah progressive life metal.
Gojira = everything
This song is legit beautiful, despite it actually being fast and loud, all I hear is the sad harmonies between the two guitars and "Get me out alive" the message is so deeper than anything I hear everyday and to the members of Gojira if by any chance you read this, I hear it, it speaks to me for real, the single tear is shed.
my bf while listening to Daft Punk: "That might the only cool thing that came from France, musically." I'm like: "really?" Then I show him: Gojira. He said then: "They're from France? They're so badass!".
Oh yeah and there is even more. Mass Hysteria is also nice, Ultra Vomit made also parodic/fun metal almost all in french for that band tho.
there is a lot of stuff musically in France, if you search, it depends of your open mind
Air
Daft Punk is still cool anyways
Uhhhh, Justice? Breakbot? They're from the same nitch as Daft Punk and are also French, AAAAAND are also pretty good.
shoutout to the sound engineer behind this
between 20 years we would talk about gojira as legends!
Hitwood [Italian Melodic Death Metal] cut it to 10 years!

Cut it to the 10 seconds it takes me to write this comment

Just... FUCK! This might be the most metal thing I've ever seen. Love the band, love the music. So grateful these guys are around. This video melted my brain and I want more. Another shining example of why Gojira should be ranked among the best. They are shamefully underrated.

so weird for me, two years ago this song literally fitted a state of mind i was stuck within. Almost like synchronicity ... just looking back with a fresh mind now going huh
These guys saved my life and continue to do so. Was going through some pretty dark times and these guys and my motorcycle were all that kept me from giving up. Im still not ok but at least i have gojira and my bike. I fuckin love these guys.
The ending of this song is so heavy. You can feel the pain/energy in Joe's voice with those ending screams. \m/
Dam I'm glad I discovered this band!! My only regret is that I didn't discover them sooner!!!
Listening to this song almost every day since it was released, and I always gotta watch the vid like 3 or 4 times in a row. Such a powerful song musically and lyrically
Its really great song. I love the main riff, the guitars are tuned really low and its got this chunky yet groovy sound! Brilliant!
Best live band I've ever seen. 4 times so far and they never stop smiling, always give their all. They show appreciation for the crowd and are just all around fucking awesome dudes.
Metal music needed another Judas Priest and over the last several years they have become my new Judas Priest.
The last drumming part is sick, i love it!
I have been a Gojira fan for years but I've never seen the video for this song. I love the ingenuity behind the videography. Filming in infrared and then using strobes to darken and lighten different aspects of the scene, it's brilliant. It's neat to see their blood vessels and the "eyeless" look that the uniform temperature of their eyes and skin gives them. The cold water simulating blood is another neat touch. I wish I could say that I was the one who came up with the idea. Does anyone know who produced this video?
it's in the description:
"directed by drew cox"
Love Gojira. When you first discover this song it goes on repeat

Simply amazing!!!
you guys work so hard to make such amazing music. thank you. your work is highly appreciated.
People who say Magma isn't as good as their other other albums are full of it.
Well, it is different. Those people are just not used to change. Magma is a great album, but so are all the albums of Gojira.
It's not as good but it's still fucking great, 99% of bands would kill to have Gojira's discography it's that good
I find all their albums to be great in their own way. Gojira has six 'children' and they are all great kids.
or maybe they just have a different opinion, no need to get heated about that
At this point The Way of All Flesh and From Mars to Sirius are untouchable, nothing will come close. But that doesnt mean Magma is bad or lacking in quality and depth. I aint full of it ;(
thank you gojira for the beautiful messages you give us in your songs, about conciousness and our origins, about who we are, I can see the growing knowledge you acquired through out your albums and I am grateful that you share what you know with us. I love you.
Gojira is so unique. Love them.
