I've bought this PC , while i was in Germany.
From high temperatures and broken screws , this PC annoyed me..
But we are here to test PC parts, so let's go!
The following componants are used in these tests :
- FX 8350 @ 4 Ghz (8 cores/ 8 threads)
- Gigabyte 990FXA-UD3
- Asus GTX 970 4GB GDDR5
- 16GB DDR3 RAM 1600 MHz (2x8GB)

not bad at all for what it is. i find it ironic that back in the day bulldozer used to run hot. the shoe is on the other foot or now the cpu's in the other socket lol

Look up the "rubber band" trick to get stripped screws off. It really works.

so i found a pc with these exact specs but ive watched a few benchmark vids with all the same specs and they’re inconsistent
What videos did you watch, do you have a link?
This processors performance depends on the temps / clock speed, RAM etc, so the FPS can warry sometimes.

Popular build many years ago if you did not want to pay for Intel i7 4th gen.
An i5 3570K was better than fx 8350 for gaming overall, like 10-15%
That was my CPU back in the day. :')

No gpu
Should run, but with lower settings and some stutters i assume.
I've never had that CPU , so i can not be 100% sure. :-)
The cpu is bottlenecking the gpu. 110-120W of power usage when on average these cards consume 160W of power.
Yes, the pairing is not the best with that CPU. :-)

Put a better cooler on and you might get around 4.5ghz on the cpu.

All you AMD FX8350 testers are thinking 100% wrong!
Yes it is a 12 year old CPU. This generation only has PCI-e 2.0, while 1000 series GPUs like the GTX1060 require PCI-e 3.0.
PCI-e 2.0 means that you can never use 100% of GPU power!
FX8350 is also a bottleneck and you should turn off GPU hardware acceleration!
But think of this in a different way! It's not all about gaming all the time!
You can buy less good computers, laptops nowadays that are worse than the amd FX8350!
The AMD FX8350 is a super good CPU. for everything else but not new games and heavier video editing.
I run an FX8350 in my main computer. I don't play games and I don't video edit. Windows 11 is very responsive and starts up quickly with SSD.
What AMD should have done with the FX8350 was to have 8 processor cores that had their own FSB. 8 pcs. communication roads instead of only 4. The FX8350 can only receive 4 data streams at once.

Well, in this video , i'm using a 900er series card, so if the CPU would be better, it would also use the GPU for 100% , the PCie slot has nothing to do with that. 🙂
I'm not saying anywhere that this FX CPU is bad for everything, but it aged worse then some Intel CPU's from that era. As you said, you are using it only for windows and watching videos, something an older i5 also can do with a SSD. 🙂
And yes, it's not a "real" 8 cores CPU.

Even though I don't play or edit videos, that doesn't mean I only watch videos on my computer!
You would like to have a responsive machine without stuttering in win11 so you can't use too old a cpu. But fx8350 works fine in win 11.
An example. If you uses a gtx1060 6gb gpu with an FX8350, then both PCI-E 2.0 and cpu are a bottleneck!
I don't know how old GPU you have to have before they are PCI-E 2.0?
I know how good and bad the fx8350 is. AMD almost went bankrupt because of this FX cpu.

cor 2 quad has almost better single core performance
too low in cs2... bad cpu
overclock is required for this cpu. i built a pc with same specs as this but cpu at 4.8ghz and got double the fps

Still not worth it that much. I've also not wanted to spend a lot of money in that build (new cooler + new power supply) , since that "630W" is one of the worst models out there.. :'D
