Is there a way to reset button not to select anything in the filter, basically reset button should clear out all selection
Thanks for sharing. If I had a specific filter configuration as the default for my dashboard, is there are way to reset to that configuration? (As opposed to just clearing all filters.)
@@TableauWeston HI if i do this and hit the reset button will i be getting only the selected filters
@@TableauWeston yes understood, is there any way I can have a specific filter option available once I hit the rest button.
nice explanation. did not work in my case and i wondered why. found answer on tableau "The "Reset Button" cannot be filtered! If there is a filter applied to All Using This Datasource or All Using Related Datasources, then this will also filter the "Reset Button" worksheet". I use that setting for the filters i wanted to reset...hence it did not work i believe
Can we reset parameters to default value
life saver tip :) is there anything which can reset Parameters as well?
@@TableauWeston thanks for quick reply and yes I was able to create a Reset parameter to required value by using Action parameters.
Hi Palmer
When we clear the action filter button how can we show default value not ‘All’ can you give us any tips. To show any one value after clearing of filters.
Thanks
@@TableauWeston Thanks for your reply Palmer. Definitely I will ask you more questions and I am learning a lot from your videos.

E: Great Tip
You said to add a dashboard, but it is really add a new worksheet.
I've done everything you did in the video and this still doesn't work for me :(
Sorry that didn't work for you. Not sure if this is the problem, but check your dashboard actions. When a sheet is added, Tableau assumes you want all the previous filters to impact the new sheet as well. Can't remember if I say this in the video, but the key is setting all the filter fields to NULL. Here's another suggestion, try the concept on a "dummy" dashboard first until you can get it to work. Do you have a packaged workbook you can share? Depending on how important this is, we set up 1:1 consulting.
@@TableauWeston I figured out the problem. I don't like how when you click the button it highlights the entire sheet blue. So to fix this I changed my button from text to a shape, then made the shape so big that you can't see it in the dashboard.
The issue is the shape becomes the thing you select so it basically means you can't select it if that makes sense.
@@SomeLad12 I understand about the button turning blue. What I've done is changed the color of the button worksheet to the same color as when it is selected. The button will always be blue, but the user won't get confused.
Unable to apply this in version 2023.1
Interesting. Obviously I don't have that version. Sorry it didn't work for you.
