Time to check out a live version of a rock classic! Great performance! we haven’t done any Zeppelin on our channel so we were wondering where to go from here. Let us know! 🔥👍😁🤘
You need more zeppelin
Try some bangers like kashmir 🤘
Total legendary anthem from them
Maybe check out Misty Mountain Hop from Zeppelin's reunion concert at the 02 arena in London back in 2010(?) or so. They have John Bonham's son Jason playing drums and the band sounds as good as ever.
Kashmir knebworth 1979 is good. Since I've been loving you live in Madison square garden 1973 is awesome. No Quarter live in Madison square garden 1973. Must sees.
More live!! MSG...Knebworth...Earls Court performances!!
Until it’s taken down. Several music reaction channels have been UA-cam spanked for playing Led Zep on their channels.
This concert and especially this performance of Stairway should be put in a time capsule for generations to come
This was 1973 the Madison Square Garden concert! This song was fresh as today’s bread. Live separates the boys from the men. L.Z. never did a tune the same way twice in concert! You have to watch more of this concert. Baby I am going to leave you is one of the greatest performances ever!
Love this band so much. Thanks for the reaction.
Glad you enjoyed 👍 -Ethan
One of the greatest voices in rock music! Come on Pop's? Peace!
Timeless 🔥
Definitely 🔥🤟 -S
I was 3 years old and already listened to this song. By the way, legend says that the double neck guitar was made for Jimmy Page. His idea, actually.
❤❤❤Robert ❤❤❤
Love "No Quarter" by Zep
Great
I really recommend Kashmir from their 2007 "reunion" concert in London. John Bonham's son Jason was on drums and they1 really nailed Kashmir perfectly It's heresy to say but I think it was as good as 1979 Knobworth show in its own way.
Everything about Led Zeppelin exemplifies greatness. I wish I was at that concert...one can only dream. I love Plants voice. Each member of the band compliments eachother so well. Thanks for your reaction!🔥🤘
Agreed!! Glad you enjoyed Lisa! -S
Hi Lisa! still alive and rocking?
@@davemac1197 Yes. Still alive. I hope you are well. Thankyou for asking.😊
@@lisamorrison2149 - oh yes. Survived the weekly supermarket sweep again today (or at least I'll know in a couple of days if I get symptoms I guess). I go on Tuesday mornings as it seems to be the quietest time of the week. I noticed on JEM Reactions there's a subscriber with a great profile pic showing a billbard with the inscription "when this virus is over, I still want some of you to stay away from me". Brilliant!
@@davemac1197 Stay safe, & take care.
Led Zeppelin is amazing live. The best band of all time!
I'm proud to say I've been to a Led Zep concert. In St. Louis, my senior year, 1977. When they started playing Stairway to Heaven you could have heard a pin drop. By the end, EVERYONE was singing. Great times. Thanks for reacting to this. I was able to go back to simpler times. Take care fellas.
That’s awesome! Just curious, what was your favorite song they did? -S
@@fatherandsonreactions Easy...Going to California
77 grad here...✌️
I saw them on that I’ll fated tour also. They were great!
I see the son appreciates this song
Saw them live in 1975 Philly Spectrum. Listen to Since I’ve Been Loving You from MSG 1973.
I was fortunate enough to attend 2 Led Zeppelin concerts, one good, one really bad. The first we drove 10 hours to see them in Greensboro NC in 1975 and the concert was kick ass, the second one was only about a 2 hour drive to Tampa Stadium in 1977, but Zeppelin played a handful of songs before a typical Florida thunderstorm hit and after the rain stopped they announced the rest of the concert was cancelled and people lost their friggin minds, resulting in a major riot that resulted in Led Zeppelin being banned from performing in Tampa again. The Greensboro concert has to be one of the best concerts that I have ever been to and I have been to NUMEROUS concerts in my life. Great choice guys. 👏👍✌️
Dang that’s a cool story! Sucks that it was canceled. Cool you got to see them! Which was your favorite song they did live? -S
I had floor seats in 1970 for "An Evening with Led Zeppelin" at Hofheinz Pavilion on the U of Houston campus...I was 15, and got 'em free from Dad, who was in local radio at the time! At the turn of the century (this one), I sold the inch-square ticket stub to that show on eBay for $100!
@S, the one that stands for me all these years later would be their performance of In My Time Of Dying, but the whole show was incredible.
I was lucky enough to see Jimmy Page on his Outrider tour back in the 80’s. I was 3rd row Jason Bonham was playing drums. For the encore, they came back on stage and did this song. One spotlight was on Jimmy, the rest of the stage was dark. The singer put his microphone out for the crowd. We sang the song. The entire song was us. That is one of my favorite concert memories.
I was fortunate enough to see Jimmy on that tour at a little club called The Ritz in N.Y.C. It’s one of my fondest memories.
The first time I saw Led Zeppelin in December 1972 this was a fairly new song. I actually heard it several months before Led Zeppelin IV was released, on a BBC live broadcast sometime in late 1970 which I had taped from the radio.
Do "Kashmir" or 'In my Time of Dying" live. You will be blown away.
"No Quarter" from "The Song Remains the Same" is an amazing version. What's really impressive is that Plant had actually strained his vocal cords on this tour and was "struggling" to hit those notes. You wouldn't know it though.
You really should consider “In My Time of Dying” at Earl’s Court I think 1975. It’s unbelievable.
Yes indeed
And the excellent version of Trampled Under Foot of that 1975 concert !
This live performance is legendary. Wizardry.
This kid gave the best review on UA-cam. He understood the video. Rock on little man 😊
the Rain Song from this same concert live and you will like it
I can imagine that moment. I saw them live at the Capitol Centre in 1977. Was one of the greatest concerts I ever saw. This song was tremendous but what I remember most is when they came out from the short intermission after John Bonham's drum solo, (they played for over 4 hrs - no warm up band) with The Immigrant Song. The stage was black then you hear Plant belting out the opening with just a light on his face. Then they exploded into the rest of the song.
I will never forget that concert and that's saying something since i saw more than 100 concerts from 1976 to 1982.
That particular guitar is deemed Priceless.
Excellent, chaps! I love Led Zeppelin live. Love that groovy scarf too! 😊
Nice live version of the Zep !
Thanks for the reaction 👍
You’re welcome Brian! -S
Best version out there, genius, genius, genius
You guys should also check out the reunion concert at the O2 arena in London in 2010 (?) with John Bonham's son Jason playing drums.
JPJ plays bass with his feet while on the keyboards! How amazing is that? I also love this better than the studio version as well! Black Dog live from this concert is amazing too! I'm 61 so I grew up on Zeppelin...best band ever!
ROBERT PLANT.S VOICE JUST ALWAYS BOTHERED ME?....MY RESPECT LEVEL FOR DAD JUST DROPPED THROUGH THE FLOOR!!!!!
LOL!
Simply brilliant.
My first concert with my Dad was Sha-Na-Na in 1978. I was 8. Wish I could have seen more with my Pop. You gentlemen are absolutely great to watch. Keep up the good work!!
By the look of Dad's face at the beginning of the song you can tell he is going through memories, good for you.
For sure Tony ! It absolutely brought back childhood memories. How can it not ?? Hope all is well and thank you for commenting ans being a part of our channel -F
I was waiting for this! Stairway to heaven was and still is one of my favorite songs ever. Few years back I couldn't listen to anything else. I remember that everyday, when my school was over I went home and I played this song. The best thing was that the landscape changed when the difirent part of the song started, so I always knew if I'm too fast or too slow. Great old times before Covid.
Also the guitar solo is something I'd like to play some day. On of the greats.
Thanks for reaction!
Glad you enjoyed James! If I knew how to play the solo, I’d help you out. Unfortunately I dont though 🙁. Will get the Layla - Eric Clapton guitar riff video for you today or tomorrow! -S
Smart young man, I’m glad you enjoyed it.
To get a full experience of what Zeppelin meant to the music industry, you need to listen to many of their songs. They were more blues in the beginning, then they had rock, they had international flare, even toward the end, you had some funk, some psychedelic, monster ballads, reggae, and a little pop. Here is a list to try and cover all their transformations.
Since I Been Loving You
Babe, I'm Going to Leave You
Trampled Under Foot
Kashmir
No Quarter
Misty Mountain Hop
Immigrant Song
When the Levee Breaks
D'yer Maker
Fool in the Rain
Dazed and Confused
Rock N Roll
Going to California
Lemon Song
Dancing Days
Rain Song
Song Remains the Same
Moby Dick (live)
Bring it on Home
Nobody's Fault but Mine
(sorry for late response) This blew me away when as a cinema projectionist I showed the movie, 'The Song Remains The Same', when it was first released. And this performance being from the movie. Fell in love with Jimmy Page's guitar playing and the Les Paul guitar. Great reaction guys. Was great to see this 'live' version again. james:)
James again. I forgot to add. Because of Jimmy I started collecting Les Paul's, but because of this song from the movie, I eventually bought a 2nd hand Gibson double neck. Was a great guitar. But it killed my back. james:)
Led Zeppelin is the best ever to do it .. simple is that
Your dad looks, and sounds like your favorite aunt, and I friggin' love it!
LOL is that a good thing? 🤣 -S
@@fatherandsonreactions , You guys are doing great. Don't worry. :-)
Thank you ! -S
I was there for this and I got to meet and spend time with Jimmy Page a few times thru my friendship with his girlfriend now
you HAVE TO do this version: Heart - Stairway to Heaven (Live at Kennedy Center Honors) [FULL VERSION]
FYI THE MASTER RADIO DJ WOLFMAN JACK HAD SO MANY REQUEST FOR THIS SONG THE RADIO STATION PUT IT ON REPEAT FOR 3 DAYS & WHEN BACK ON THE AIR PHONE INS REQUESTED PLAY IT AGAIN!
"I don't like Robert Plant's voice" says the man who likes Bruce Springsteen.

I love your father son interaction, and how you both state your opinions and how you both have a good time! I can see your father son bond and it’s so much happiness between you guys! Love how your honest and break the songs down! Keep up the good work!
Thank you Richard! So glad you enjoy the videos! Take care! -S
You really should check out Heart's version performed live at the Kennedy Center in front of the surviving members of Led Zep who ended up giving them a standing ovation. One of the best live performances ever imho. OMG they all look so young in this video.
We definitely will need to do that!! -S
That would have been an epic concert!!
The band DID play Stairway to Heaven before it’s classic studio version was released.
According to Robert Plant, “to very little fanfare” of the audience response.
Please do BLACK DOG LIVE 1973 PLEASE same concert!!
Your lighting looks MUCH better now, don’t you think? I never saw the movie “The Song Remains the Same” until about 10 years ago - Jimmy Page is an absolute god!
Thanks Dave! I agree. Lights are definitely better. I think the reason it wasn’t as good before was because the light was turned up to much. Lowering it did the trick 👍😁 -S
Any song from Madison Square Garden is epic.
My favorite is Dazed and Confused.
Also No Quarter is good
They filmed the whole concert at MSG And made a Movie/Album called The song Remains the Same.
It's well worth the watch.
The best groups don't alter their studio versions a lot so they can perform them well live. Zeppelin is one of the best live groups because Jimmy produced every song (with a few exceptions) so it would play well live.
Your son seems incredibly smart and talkative. You raised him right.
New sub from 🇬🇧
Show him The rain song live 1973
Thanks! -Son
Wow! Zeppelin on your channel! I never thought I'd see the day haha! To me, Zeppelin is a band that has never made a bad album. I suppose Coda is a bit of an odd collection of songs, but still not bad. I remember as a teen asking my older sibling why they don't listen to Zeppelin and they said that they heard it TOO much back in the day so they got sick of them. I couldn't believe what I was hearing...how could anyone get sick of hearing Zeppelin? I love Clutch but I don't listen to them every day because I would hate for that to happen to me. I'm careful not to over-listen to any one band, so hopefully I won't have to deal with that issue.
Anyways, for my next suggestion, here is Motörhead - Ace Of Spades (ua-cam.com/video/3mbvWn1EY6g/v-deo.html). Cheers!
Glad you enjoyed so much Mike!! you got to be careful when listening to bands because you don’t wanna overdo it haha!! Happened to me with a few already 😝! Take care!! -S
Hey, Mike. I would never get sick of Led Zeppelin. I'm not much into Motorhead, but "Ace Of Spades" is a great tune. Cheers.
You should react to all the songs from this concert. Also Achilles Last Stand is awesome live!
Any song from the 1973 MSG concert is very good.
My favorites are Since I've Been Loving You, and The Song Remains the Same/The Rain Song.
Truly epic
About 50 years old, this song is. I can remember it from from somewhere in the first half of the seventies; in my early teens. Shit, I’m getting old(er).
Great song. It starts as a ballad but then things get a bit wilder.
👍 💯 -S
So many of their live concert songs were incredible though.
You have to checkout from the same concert Dazed and Confused warning it's 28 minutes long mind-blowing performance.
My personal favorite is The Rain Song from this same MSG concert. Kashmir, Whole Lotta Love, Dazed and Confused, and the Immigrant Song are all awesome live.if you do The Rain Song live, you are supposed to do the combo of Song Remains the Same/Rain Song Live at MSG.
Great reaction!!!
Thank you ! -S
Well done reaction.
Thanks Kevin! -S
@@fatherandsonreactions All the best lads!
Hello F & S, One of the most Iconic voices in Rock, like it or not, I happen to like him personally. Remember, it's a personal kind of thing, like what hits you. It was an especially good live version, good pick. Frosty morning's, 30 degrees F, but, nice sunny day's, highs in the mid 40's. Rock & Roll, best, C.
Glad you enjoyed the song Cass. That’s great to hear. Wow 30F? Hope it’s not to cold for you! Take care. -S
"Robert Plants voice always bothered me." Sacrilege! This concert is from 1973 so i am wondering you "The Dad" was even born yet. LOL. Do ANY song from this concert and you will be impressed. Also The Earls Court concert is really good too.
😂 agreed!
Earls Court In My Time Of Dying!!
Ok so if you really want to see an impressive live performance, there is an old Danish live performance from 1969 when they just came on the scene and it’s awesome. Plant’s voice is so strong. He was probably like 21 yrs old. It’s on you tube. Especially good was “Dazed and Confused” and my personal favorite, the hard rocking “How many more times”. Son can you see why some of us gave home the front man award...Much stage presence.
Do The Ocean from this same concert live at MSG 1973
F&S TOOL does an amazing cover of Zepp's NO QUARTER. A fun reaction would be to compare the two. 🤞✌🤯
Paul Rodgers is the lead singer for "Bad company"
Need to do WHOLE LOTTA LOVE by Led Zepplin !!
F&S Achilles Last Stand live from Knebworth. ✌🤞
A very perceptive analysis from the young man! I would suggest a reaction to Humble Pie's "Strange Days". Imo it is Frampton and Marriot at their very best.
Thanks Tom! -S
More Led Zeppelin.
OK, don't listen to anyone else -- this is the straight dope ;-)
For someone who is getting their first real taste of Led Zeppelin, you need to listen to TWO songs (album versions)
Babe I'm Gonna Leave You -- from their first album, it's raw and almost sounds live.
The Rain Song -- from their fifth album (Houses of the Holy) when the band was at their musical and creative peak.
Both songs show why Plant is one of the finest rock vocalists ever and why Led Zeppelin is one of the greatest bands ever.
Then branch out from there -- listen to every album in order :-)
2 performances for you .. Kashmir and Achilles Last Stand from Knebworth 1979 .. your jaws will be firmly planted on the floor
Was this The Song Remains the Same Version? Can't believe Father hasn't shown Son the movie yet. TCM had it on demand late last year. I find it funny when Son says "request a ... (insert artist) song I don't know." How are we suppose to answer that? I'll just throw in Achilles Last Stand.
I don’t know many songs by them. So any song you recommend I probably won’t know haha. Never heard of that one. Thanks 😁👍 -S
Nobody better...especially live!! Jimmy Page...greatest guitarist to ever grace the planet! Do In My Time Of Dying...I think the Earls Court one is on the greatest hits album called Mothership.
Achilles last stand at Knebworth is the way to go
Hi guys, thanks for doing Led Zeppelin. Once again I find myself agreeing with Father in that I never really got switched on to Led Zepp as a band but there are certain songs I really connected with musically, like Immigrant Song and Kashmir. This one I like as well, although not as much, and everyone in the UK over a certain age is familiar with the guitar riff from Whole Lotta Love because it was used by the BBC as the intro to their TV chart show Top Of The Pops for much of its run. It was presented weekly by a rota of BBC Radio DJs from 1964 to 2006, when record sales charts were rendered meaningless by internet downloads. The show now exists as a retrospective archive show with 42 years worth of live studio performances to draw apon.
Led Zepp's Jimmy Page has been in the UK news over the last five years due to a planning dispute with London neighbour Robbie Williams (former member of 90s boy band Take That and later a solo singer) over Robbie's plans for a superbasement extension to his house. Superbasements are 'a thing' in London now because there's nowhere else you can extend your home these days except downwards. There were lurid stories in the press about loud music being played as a form of psychological warfare, but this has been denied by both parties. Jimmy's mansion is a grade 1 listed property of historical significance and obviously he is concerned that mechanical excavations for Robbie's basement would undermine the foundations. The dispute has been recently settled by Robbie given planning permission to excavate his basement extension on condition he doesn't use machinery (I have this image in my mind of Jimmy watching over the garden fence while Robbie digs his basement out with a spoon!)
@Buddy Wiser - you could play the Led Zeppelin drinking game that I've just invented - every time you hear the song on the radio, have another Bud!
I saw Zepplin and they were amazing. John Bonham died a couple of years later. The whole brand was amazing. Seen Queen also David Bowie, Prince, Eagles, Lynerd Skynerd, George Michael, Michael Jackson. I mean they are all leaving us. Listen to there music.
That double neck guitar weighs about 12 pounds.
Hi. It looks like the 77 tour. I had tickets and was forced to work. I was 15. And I only remember giving them so i could work a few hours. mistake.
Time to get back to Jethro Tull. If you're looking for live versions check out Thick as a Brick live from Madison Square Garden 1978. Unbelieveable. Also, audio versions of Minstrel In The Gallery, Songs From the Wood, Nothing is Easy. So many. Enjoy!
You’re right! thanks!! -S
I strongly suggest Devin Townsend - Deadhead Live At Royal Albert Hall
Madison Square Garden, NY - 1973.
I feel the same way about the singer for AC/DC. I like their music but I can only take so much of his voice.
Since I’ve been loving you live. If you’ve done the studio version first.
Can you tell me what these lyrics mean "If there's a bustle in your hedgerow don't be be alarmed, it's just a spring-clean for the may-queen".
No idea! -S
@@fatherandsonreactions To be honest, I don't like podcasts that have someone listening to an old classic, bobbing their head, making comments, while not even trying to understand the lyrics. It would be more entertaining and have more value, if you and your viewers at least attempted to interpret the lyrics. I'm turning you onto these songs, my son, even though I never spent one minute trying to figure out what they are about.
I think they'll like Zeppelin's deep cuts.
These guys were at the forefront of progressive rock. They inspired bands like TOOL. ✌
they were evenm better live than they were in the studio and thats saying ALOT!!!!!
Love the reaction... and I must say that Zeppelin live always, to me, sounds more 'authentic'. It is a shame that so few of their hundreds of live performances were captured with this quality, so we see the same few over and over. There is, however, a slightly obscure (for Zep) live video that is amazing, both in the musical performance and the ability to see/hear all four guys tearing it up. I doubt you'll get many requests for it because it is not as well known, but I'd be remiss if I didn't direct you to this video of two songs (We're Gonna Groove/I Can't Quit You Babe) recorded at Royal Albert Hall in 1970.
ua-cam.com/video/o3XpvxdlhAA/v-deo.html
A shame Jimmy Page never admitted the beginning of Stairway to Heaven was influenced by the song Taurus written by Randy California of Spirit. Led Zepplin was the opening act for Spirit on tour in 1970 so no doubt Jimmy heard Taurus. The court case was a joke. None the less Stairway to Heaven has to rank among the all time great rock tunes.
how old is dad?
