"Is Rand going to have a thing for her?" Well, the director certainly thinks so. :-) I don't know about Moiraine and Siuan reconciling, but, just based on the show, that doesn't seem to be coming any time soon. Using the One Power to compel your partner to comply with your will is a pretty big breach of trust.
Getting rid of them always seemed rather pointless, as the seals are said to be made of Cuendillar. There is no way with or without magic to damage Cuendillar except through the "True Power" which the Dark One only allows his Chosen (the Forsaken) to channel (and doesn't let most of the Forsaken use very much of). Ishamael and Lanfear should be the only beings in the universe capable of breaking the seals and freeing the other Forsaken, so it shouldn't matter if they are in the bottom of the ocean or on public display where anyone is free to try to break them.
@@magister343 Yeah, but it is considerably harder to find (the break) these seals in the deep depths of some random place in the middle of the ocean. I think that was Lanfear's point.
It is no harder to hide and break them than it is to break them if breaking them is impossible. Unless she fears she might change her mind and break them herself, the only reason it would make sense to hide them is if she knows Ishamael will be coming back to life soon and thinks his temporary death just offers a good opportunity to hide them before he comes back. That actually does make sense, since she probably knows the Dark One can pluck a soul out at the moment of death (unless killed by Baelfire, which kills in the past) and place it in a new host body. @@scajl
@@magister343 I think you are making the assumption that Lanfear knows FOR A FACT that Ishamael is going to get killed... remember, she wanted to get rid of the seals before there was even a confrontation between Ishy and the gang; and even tho many things got planned out and worked out as Lanfear expected, she doesn't know exactly whats going to happen for a fact... Dumping the seals was her contingency and if her carefree attitude at the end of the episode is any indication, it was a contingency that seemed less important for exactly the reason that you said: "Ishy is dead now, there aren't many people who can actually break the seals" Also, there are actually a few scenarios that can play out that can lead into seals being broken outside of her or Ishy doing it... Like you said, resurrection; making them near impossible to find could make the difference for her, at least when it comes to time... Ishy could've broken free some of them and not others, meaning that getting rid of said "other" seals is still in her best interest given that they might be another Forsake out that can do it... Now, talking about the True Power, without getting too spoilery; you know there is even an scenario where an "outsider" gets access to it... Now, you are right when it comes to the Forsaken being the ones that would be able to do it, but not only because they are the ONLY ones capable of doing it, but they are the ones WILLING to do it... Also remember that they seals weakened over time and belief even plays a role in their decay But perhaps more importantly when it comes to the True Power, do you really think that they are going to introduce that concept in the show? IMO: I highly doubt it... I mean, they have yet to go in full detail about the One Power itself; I don't think they haven even used the names for each half of the power or go into any detail about their differences, similarities and how they go together as the One Power other than making the implications that women can't see man's weaves and vice versa... I actually don't think they are going to make the magic system more complicated by adding another SOURCE that works pretty much the same as the One Power but comes from a different place and only a handful of characters can access it... Look at this season for example, we have Ishy, a male channeler, seemingly unaffected by the taint when he channels; as a regular viewer what does that tell you, you might notice it, you might not, but as a reader you would think a couple of things: first, is the idea that the taint, being the influence of the DO, somehow doesn't affect the Forsaken (which is something never explicitly explained in the books but it's common belief I think), and second, one might think "Well, Ishy at points almost exclusively used the True Power and not the One Power, given the access he got granted by the DO"... Cool, but none of those things are touched upon in this season, specially anything about the True Power... If they were going to introduce it as a different source, Ishamael is the character to do it with, given his position as not only favorited but scholarly Forsaken that pretty much only uses that source of power... But he is dead (at least for a big chunk of time) and none of it was mentioned... So I think the fact that they didn't introduce it, or at least mentioned in passing, in this season, makes the possibilities that they are going to even adapt it very low... And therefor, in the shows canon, you probably don't need the True Power to open the seals, maybe you only need to be really really strong; and we have strong characters in both sides (but of course we would have to question the WHY someone would open it)... Remember, I think they are even changing a little bit things regarding the sealing of the Forsaken and the function of the seals... We know from the books that "freeing the Forsaken" is only a by product of the real purpose of the seals and what they are actually sealing; but they show seems to be making it as that there are many seals, a seal for each Forsaken, and probably other seals or other types of seals for the actual main function and reasoning for THE SEALS
