I think I can speak on behalf of many other sportsfishermen/ and ladies out there in saying that the Nikko Hellgrammite is probably the hottest lure to hit the market in a long time. Just look at how many different species you can catch with them! I absolutely love them. Great video John.
Excuse the language John but this Florida trip was badass! You deserve so much more I stopped watching all other fishing channels they try to hard for new content but here we got that classic rod and reel action bringing in some nice ones all along the trip. You good dude man much love from Texas John. Everyone needs to share this content or post your favorite video from him somewhere to help support more trips and this man in general. I am Muslim but I respect your faith as I am still born here in America keep it up man. Fresh water fishing for life.
Going from KY & OH, where I'm from, and then fishing the gulf was such a cool experience last summer! I can''t imagine getting to fish these little canals and all the life that its teaming with.
Outstanding video! The hellgrammite came through again!! Never seen anyone use a purple one . . . but it appears just as effective. I love how you are finding new species of fish. That is definitely the cool part about fishing down there, you never know what will bite! Nice job brother!
I started using hellgramite lures after watching you using them a few months ago. Ordered some nikko lures off amazon and I love using them! I’ve had good luck using them on a ned rig.
I’ve been busy so I’m a bit behind on your videos but this one was great! It’s like catching dozens on little bass and panfish back in your area except they’re all a lot bigger!
that cyclit(?) was a very cool fish.. I liked that colors.. used to have oscars in my aquarium in the old days.. had three of them in a 250 gallon tank in the living room/den wall.. very cool fish.. Those look a little different from the ones I had.. there was no red circle on the fins to start with and they were not as dark.. I am gonna try the helgramite this next year.. I got some nikkos at the end of last year but really didn't get a chance to use them.. Have a bless and safe new year brother.. this is gonna be a good year.. I can just feel it!
Sorry bud, I've been in the hospital and away from the keyboard for a week. I just got home tonight and wanted to comment on this video. There are places along I-40 that run from Raleigh, NC all the way down to Wilmington, NC that are sort like this, but on a much smaller scale. I've noticed the water standing before, driving to the beach as that is the way we go to the Outer Banks on North Carolina's shore. I have often wondered if anything lives in that water, the only problem is, you are not supposed to pull over unless it's an emergency! You just can't pull off and drop a line in the water. Where you were in Florida, it appears you can do just that. That is way cool. I'm glad to see you had a blast in Florida and I would recommend you doing it more. Get out, explore over state lines, see what you can come up with and all of us, you're fans will love it.....
I lost a hellgramite yesterday in a snag. It eats you all day because they are hard to come by. I have to order directly from nikko since BPS nor academy carry. Nice video!
Got to love the nikko hellgrammites, one of the best soft plastics ever. That gar was a cool catch. What's your favorite way to rig the nikko hellgrammite. Tight lines . 🤘🎣🤙
True ! I always take a few casts before going to close to shore so I don't spook the fish and sure enough they end up being the best catch of the day ..
Well typically the shore isnt this clear.. thats the advantage of the boat. Also in areas with high pressure... fish are wary of lures coming from deep water into shore.
Joe Blow; Yep, I have noticed that to, and I have also noticed that the majority of the people I see fishing, seldom catch a significant number of fish. I suspect the reason so many people do not catch many fish has to do with the tendency so many people have to use tackle that is either too heavy or in some cases, too light. Then there is the fact that so many fishermen do not seem to understand that rubber, metal and plastic, are not items that are on the fish's menu ! Yes, you can catch fish with artificial lures, sometimes, quite often even, but if you really want the fish to bite consistently, it helps to remember that fish, just like people, like real food, not man made, decorative, fake food ! Speaking of food ,'' and fish, '' down in the part of the country I grew up in, we fishermen , although we did love fishing, we almost never fished just for the sake of fishing, but instead we fished for food. Heck, when I was a kid, I can remember eating fish for breakfast, lunch and dinner, along with goodies from the garden and hush-puppies, for 3 days in a row sometimes ! These days, its almost as if most fishermen are fishing, just to try to impress someone with their fishing skills, or as is often the case, the lack thereof ! LOL.
@Serzy Productions ; That is good one ! That said, MDs chicken nuggets might contain ammonia, bleach, and god only knows what else, but for the most part they are organic , usually tasty and more often than not, somewhat digestible as food, while the contraptions that so many people insist on using as fish bait these days, fit none of these criteria !
Yea, a different world in South Florida fur sure. Tho ya had fun eh ? Four lb. line has no place down here. Ya gota step up to at least eight lb. up for these fish. Some get really big here. At least ya got ta fish different waters than you do up North . Yer always welcome here John. Tom Daytona Beach, FL.
Garfish are really beautifull fish! You and your Hellgrammites, its your believer! Nice vid (get yourself a foldable net, especially when canal fishing).
I want to see if those Nikko Hellgramites are big enough for a 1/0 Gamakatsu skipgap hook. That would make a great lure for a fly rod, but you need the right hook to hold it in place.
i caught a 5.6 LBS rainbow trout on a hellgrammite lol Was fishing in a lake that had them and smallmouth in it and i was fishing some structure for the smallmouths and this trout came out of cover like an ambush predator!! never seen anything like it since lol
@@CreekFishingAdventures They are called Triploids, u ever heard of them?? They are a larger and more aggressive Rainbow trout... They are not able to breed and the females can grow to some really large sizes cause of it. One of the funnest fish i have ever caught.
@11:18 hooked into a mayan chiclid at those pipes on the upper right side of the screen, a 7 foot gator rose up and instantly grabbed my fish and snapped my line. Scariest moment ever while fishing. That's at Coopertown airboat rental I believe.
Out in Butte County Calif. Live Hellgramites, and Hellegramite Flys, and to a lesser extent the plastics, are the ONLY thing you can get the big non-native Brown trout on fishing the Feather River upper reaches before it runs in Oroville Dam. You can get the Native Cut throat, Rainbows and the non-native Brookies( aint many of them, but they're there) on Worms, Grasshoppers, Salmon Eggs and small in-line spinners like Rooster Tails and a wierd little lure called the Super Duper as well as many different flys, but the Hellgramite is the king of baits for all species there, and like I said almost the only one for the big Browns!
Cool experience with a crazy variety of native, introduced and invasive species. I think of hellgrammites living in swift, rocky rivers and streams. Are they actually found in those swampy Florida canals? Maybe the fish just eat the lure because it looks buggy.
Oscars and cichlids are probably someone's old aquarium fish that got dumped in the wild. They are definitely not native to these waters! Fun fishing, but invasive species nevertheless.
If you are still there. See if you can get some topwater action with the peacock bass. They are pretty aggressive and strong like you say. It would be some nice footage for you later on.
Thanks John for another great video, nice Nikko Hellgrammite advertisement.
I feel like Florida is a different planet when your fishing there, so many cool fish, love the vids
i couldnt get over how different it feels
Dude! I've really enjoyed your Florida Trip videos. Thanks for taking us along for the ride and all the hook-ups! Blessings, brother!

thanks tom
The hellgrammite man!!!! Hey, go with what you know! For me it is the Tom Thumb, Wholly Bugger and Parachute Adams! Great vid!!
I'm really glad I found your channel. I do a lot of smallie fishing on the river. Beautiful scenery in your videos. Love it.

thanks so much, i really enjoy the simple freshwater fishing, especially when i can catch fish left and right
Fishing Florida is like a box of chocolates.... Another great video brother.
God bless

Hey! Glad you are enjoying your vacation time in Florida and sharing your wonderful videos with all of us 👍👏👏🙏
Excellent video John!!!! Fantastic fishing, it was fun to watch thanks for sharing!!!
And the sales for hellgramite lures in Florida skyrocketed 😂 nice video man! Keep it up
Worms moccasins, shallow diving, crank baits.. flutes too glad to see you enjoyed it hopefully you did I enjoy it up there in the mountains.
Probably my favorite video of your Florida series. Nice job.
this was so fun, i had no idea i could be catching fish like this
Dude....that little spot was loaded! Those must be Elton John Oscars....they love that hot purple lure. 😂😂😂
You could easily populate a large show tank with those cichlids! Award-winning oscars and Mayans! My bro-in-law is officially jealous now. 😏 😉 😁
Glad you are having success down there! Probably the only thing that would ever draw me to S FL.
What a great place to fish during these cold months! Awesome video with some nice fish! 🎣👍
That was a lot of cool fish. You are great fishing guy. Really fun video. 😊

yah thats about it
Wearin' 'em out! Nailed two creek smallies this morning on the hellgrammite. That bait is a GETTER!
yes it is

those oscars are monsters, just a thick strong fish
Awesome video. Lots of species. I usually can't hook the gar around me. Sometimes they'll get tangled in my trebles, but that's it.
Hellgramite doing some work. Awesome video bro
4:48 dang what a hook set!
those fish are tough little beasts
I kept waiting for a big toothy mouth to come up and slam the GoPro!!! Nice catches!
Absolutely man , anxiously awaiting the next video
just going back and watching old videos !
Thanks John for letting me come along!
Love the video John awesome
You make fishing in Florida look easy I had fun just watching
florida made me look like i know what im doing, there was tons of fish to be caught
I got my 2020 fishing license today! Your videos have me itching for spring!
I I can’t wait
Me and my Dad used to hunt for Hellgrammites in creeks. Those pinchers are brutal, and have brought a tear to many a man's eye.
i have caught a few live ones and dont want to test out the pinchers
I could watch this all day awesome video!!

you can pull over anywhere there i guess
Dude. I would have loved joining in on this trip! Looks like it was a blast...
Great videos! Looks like you had a lot of fun in Florida. I was so waiting for a gator to chomp down on your camera in that canal. LOL! 👍😀✌️
Love throwing Hellgrammites when creekin! They're deadly...
Love the Florida fishing man. Great vids, it’s not easy!

Awesome video and awesome catches
Nice video dude. Love the roadside fishing.
Love your video’s. Keep on fishing!!!!

on a 1/10 to 1/20 oz zman jighead
@@CreekFishingAdventures are you using the version with the more stout hook or the light wire hook? Looks like maybe the light wire one?
Haven't tried it yet but I would think letting a wacky rigged hellgramite tumble out of some rapids into a pool would be deadly for trout.
Thanks , good show .
Enjoyed the video, Florida sure can be a special place for angling, very unique. Would like to see how some live shiners would work for you.
i bet the fish would have tore them up
I’m in north Florida and been struggling due to the bipolar weather. Awesome video
I've noticed a little more garbage around the spots that you fished in Fla. Always was amazed at how tidy the areas were in TN etc.
Great video glad your having a great time
What a great video!! Keep uploading, your content is top notch! 👍
Love the video keep up the good work
A lot of the time snook will be in those Florida calls. They are great fish.
I've always thought it was funny, fish on the bank ,cast far out ,fish from a boat fish near the bank?lol
True ! I always take a few casts before going to close to shore so I don't spook the fish and sure enough they end up being the best catch of the day ..

Nice content. Florida anywhere creek, river, lake back yard etc. Most likely u will catch something. Living there must fish everyday.
Great video! Have a safe and healthy 2020, regards from Sydney, Australia.
So awesome to see some new fish! 👍
Only Oscar I ever seen was in a fish tank. Great video
What a variety, no wonder it’s so hard to catch fish up here in Canada, their all on vacation down south ! 🐠🥇🇨🇦
i had no idea there was going to be that many fish in those areas
Are you off of Alligator Alley? It runs across from Naples to Ft. Lauderdale, close to the Everglades. Gars are, well disturbing. Have fun. 🐟
I just caught your Vlogs.....awesome fishing 👍👍👌👌

that will keep ya in alert mode

Wow that is one versatile lure. They should sponsor you after that video!👍🏻
i actually reached out to them and they sent me a big box of lures, they were the first people to send me lures, over a year ago
I used to have South American Oscars in my fish tank. Crazy to think you can catch them down in Florida.
there was tons of them
It's because people that didn't want them as pets any longer dumped them in the canals.
Cool experience with a crazy variety of native, introduced and invasive species. I think of hellgrammites living in swift, rocky rivers and streams. Are they actually found in those swampy Florida canals? Maybe the fish just eat the lure because it looks buggy.
i think these fish and most fish eat it just because it looks and smells like a bug/ creature easy to eat
Still should do an aquarium at home man. That little Peacock would have loved your living room!
yah your right
Throw some big baits man, those canals hold some seriously big fish!
i tried a little, maybe next time
@@CreekFishingAdventures dude, those canals are AWESOME!!! I would almost rather canal fish than inshore.

i tried topwater a few times in areas i knew they were there but no hits
If you have any, try whoopers or Jr spook. I know you'll love the action.
was that a snakehead at 3:00? I thought you were supposed to kill b/c invasive?
Everything? Hmmm. I didn’t see you catch a tarpon on a halgarmitte! 😁
haha, thats my clickbait exaggeration
I enjoy your vids. God bless.
I think he loves saying hugger mite lol
Everglades are great fishing, just look out for those gators lol 👀🐊🐟🌴
thats all i was thinking about
That is a great time fishing.
Those peacock bass are everywhere
Nice vid .... My goal is to fish Florida one day soon
This place that you fish is amazing, has beautiful fish, your fishing was a success. Congratulations!
Hug!!!👍🎣🐠😊
Be with God!
Nice bro. 👍👍👍
Oscars are such an under rated fish
Got any recipes for those peacock bass?
So can you just pull over and fish anywhere those canals are?
yah, there were people pulled over everywhere
EPIC day, every fish in the video were beautiful. even those Florida gar are gorgeous!!!
