As someone who previously lived on Oahu and now lives on the Big Island, I really hope that the Big Island becomes an expansion! And thank you for taking the time and spreading awareness of the brushfires on Maui! The people there absolutely need all the help they need!

I think they should go a bit further beyond with map expansions, why add a new map that is still on Hawaii, if they could add maps in other countries like in Test Drive Unlimited 2 with both the Oahu and Ibiza maps? The characters in the Made in Japan playlist mentioned several times about the possibility of bringing Motorfest to Japan, I see huge potential there of them creating a map expansion localized in Japan in a specific area of the country.
If the Forza devs can do it I believe that the motorfest devs can definitely do it too

@sparklingwater1542 yeah I'd keep it that way. Lol I bought it without then saying where it was based. Thinking it was gonna be like 2. Yeah it went from the US to some boring Hawaii. Besides games trash anywhere the physics are cheesy. Graphics are mediocre. Forza horizon is better. Plus forza horizon is free on game pass lol
It's possible, this is something that Ubi did in Ghost Recon Breakpoint, where there were 2 islands near the original map and one of them ended up releasing it later as free content (the other one got canceled but you can still see it on the horizon) all because the surface of the map was there at launch ready for future content.
If they do this with TCM we'll see.
I'd argue that in the case of the crew 2 versus motorfest, that the amount of detail doesn't matter as much. I am racing I'm not stopping to see if there's a hobo in an alley with a box, and then saying wow look at the detail, none of that matters, the bigger map allows for an extreme amount of replayability and enjoyment in free mode, while a smaller map with better quality doesn't affect the gameplay and in result becoming redundant.

The beauty of the US map is how iconic the country is and how many different terrains and climates there are to explore. So many cool landmarks and iconic places to visit and that's such a huge appeal to the game. To be flying down the Rockies or through Yosemite one minute, then in the streets of NY or SF the next is unreal.
Hawaii is iconic in name only really, in that people see it as a luxury destination they want to visit. Outside of Honolulu there isn't really anything people talk about or are we even aware of.
The best map expansion this game could get is a refreshed, updated version of the US map, even if it means RIP PS4
I thought I was the only thinking this, like why go to some islands? The US idea was very cool and refreshing, why not focus on refining and perfecting that setting before moving on to something new?

Also it's sad to see Maui being destroyed by wildfires, I hope people find their families.
They've had 5 years to work on this map. There is no reason for it to be this small.

I'll never like the fact they made a smaller map, the map looks really nice but I preffer a huge map with less detail since you're not gonna stop and look at the details, it's a racing game, you're driving, fast at that.
The lack of detail does also affects racing to a level too. Many roads in TC2 are just poorly made or boring making them not fun to race on. Like you have stretches of road where you are literally going full throttle for minutes, that is not fun.

@@namesii1880there's literally so many races on that game that differ, so if you don't like straight shot races, like a Big Land, you literally have so many other options
I really hope they update the AI cars on motor fest because it’s the same cars since 2014, so after 10 years it needs to be updated

As an American who has been to Maui, I would love to see a Maui expansion (Although it probably wouldn't age well right now because of the wildfires happening there) Also, I pray for those affected by the Maui wildfires

I'm waiting for a discount, the initial price is too damn high and if we all suck it up then we're just encouraging all the publishers to keep raising them. That said if Ubisoft announced a portion of sales being donated to the Maui fire victims I might make an exception.
If anything, I get the feeling ubi might be overpricing new releases on purpose to make their subscription service more attractive. Problem is I'm not interested in 95% of their titles and I already own the other 5%.
I also think that there is a high possibility because the game is only 36 GB compared to forza w expansions at 133 GB, in my opinion they should and could add all islands

Honestly a map expansion would make such a great game even better if the quality is as good. Also I really hope that the boating/plane option is added to get to the other islands, just imagine 🙌
The Crew 2 map and roads were awesome, especially after they made the performance upgrades last year.
You gotta be joking. The highway between Salt Lake Resorts and Jackson Hole is trash. They should have never remodeled the highway exits, they should've left it the same as the crew one. Now they narrow down the roads in the crew 2 making traffic collision a disaster.

I think if they'll make island expansions, then it would make more sense to pick Mau'i over Moloka'i because it has more places that are better for a game map. Mau'i has a city, Kahului, and some towns. Whereas Moloka'i doesn't have as many places. As you'll notice on a map, Moloka'i only really has 1 main road that connects like 4/5 towns. So I think Mau'i is the better choice for a game map.
I'm not sure about the choice of Kauai as an expansion though, it's sort of the same situation as Moloka'i, but just a smaller island
might i add that moloka'i is the island where the leper colonies in Hawai'i were located, so it might not be the best place to add as a map expansion
If it doesn't get more islands this game will get boring real quick
On a side note im just happy it doesnt snow every 15 min in this game
They should have made the map 1:1 scale to begin with. If they do integrate the other 2 islands, then I hope they connect them with a road network.

@@kriskatersometimes realism hinders gameplay, so in cases like that it would be better to go with the bridges, it would help gameplay, ppl would race about them, take crazy pics, u can implement boat races around them and more

I believe there will be a map expansion when it's in the game.
There were talks about things that didn't happen in the end in the crew 2, like license plates.
Nonetheless will i play motorfest, just like the first two the crews.
I’m new to the series so I may have a different view of things.
My introduction was this game. I went back & trialed TC2 & I love that USA map.
I think they should upgrade that map & bring it into this game.
I think that would give them time to add expansions to this map. I also think they should make bridge/tunnels to the expansion maps they will more than likely add.
But I really wish they would bring the USA map to this game as a 2nd map. I loved cruisn the USA with friends. It was really fun

The best way to TCM keeps going for years
There are 2 ways to look at this and we shouldn't blur them together. Some will be upset the map is smaller than TC2. Some will just be upset that Oahu isn't 1:1 or at least similar to TDU2.
Given they want to have TCM go on as long as TC2 has, map expansions are a must. But, pacing it out not only gives players something to look forward to, it gives IT time to give the islands the same TLC that O'ahu has received.
I think they might give us an expansion on tc1 10 year anniversary
If I'm cruising I'd kinda rather have an intant-teleport (similar to the Eden logo in TDU1) rather than switch to a plane and wait for 2 mins, especially if I'm cruising with friends.
I hope they will put wild life and people like in tc2 and regular ranked pvp races

It wouldn't suprise me if Ibiza will be an expansion, since Oahu in Motorfest is a map re-hash of the TDU/TDU2 map. Secondly a lot of people anno 2023 don't remember some devs at Ivory Tower also worked on TDU/TDU2...
Ibiza is in Spain, it wouldn't make sense to have Ibiza next to the main map, it could be a map for the next crew game though.

Expansions are for current gen (PS5) only.
By the time the first one comes out it will be Fall 2024. 4 years into this generation. That's enough time supporting the old gen.

it can definitly handle two more maps look at the crew 2.also any assasins creed game they have huge full of detail maps the ps4 is strong still can handle alot if optimised well enough

For once I 100% agree with a UA-camr
I do not like the micro transactions and everything else designed to milk money from users. They took major liberties in Oahu design for fun. For example. that volcano in the west does not exist, and no road on the island is as wide as in game. The two addon islands are definately part of the original design. All they have to do is unlock the view of the whole map, as the beta release the map is zoomed way in.

Devil’s advocate…showing the other two land masses gives you the feeling you’re on one of several islands. Much like the Mexican part of the US map. They never expanded to make it all of North America.
That said, it would be a real missed opportunity if they didn’t add the other islands. Maui’s road to Hana and Haleakala would be a racer’s dream. And Big Island’s active volcano would make for some fun, arcade greatness.
But I don’t think seeing the edges of the other two guarantees the expansion. Player support and overall reception will determine if they get the time and funding to expand.
Sorry but the ps4 had its time in my opinion its only because of corona they strecthed ps4 games for another 2 to 3 years but 2023 finnaly became the year of the last ps4 game so im actually hoping they do loading screens for ps4 and give ps5 better feutures yea the game would get split up but would have been better for the game in the first place to develop just on ps5

I will never understand why in all these racing game videos, I see people driving the car in the behind the car view, especially if they've bought an expensive driving wheel for, I guess, "realism" ? In real life, do you drive your car flying behind your car ? Or are you INSIDE your car? What's even the point of talking about how realistic the graphics look if you're playing the game in the most unrealistic way? So weird.
who cares about detail in a racing game? of course it's a nice thing to have but it's not like it's GTA where you can step out of the car and explore stuff, I'd prefer the whole US map alone for the sake of variety, I'm just sick of coastal cities with palm trees in racing games
So i honestly think that ubisoft is atleast going to optimize the game for last gen console, cause i bought it on ps4, and there is no way they wouldnt even put it up for sale on last gen if they know it won't run.
The Crew actually had so much more detail in random parts of the map, than The Crew 2. The map in the second game is so bland, there is so much stuff they removed.
