My doctor just today sent off my medical records, alongside a letter outlining a medical condition that might affect me joining (1 case of depression and anxiety) - he basically confirmed that they were linked together, explained in the letter how long ago it was (3 years) , how it is a one off, how there was a clear trigger and how he has no concerns about me joining as it isnt an existing medical condition. I'm hoping that this proves useful to save the hassle later down the line! Your videos helped me explain the template to him, so thank you and fingers crossed!

Applied a couple of years ago and was rejected due to having a very mild nut allergy, never needed an epipen, never went into anaphylactic shock, can eat foods that may contain nuts, even if I eat a peanut or something the reaction is very mild. Hi Kyle. I was influenced poorly as a kid and had a rough upbringing, I self harmed and have scars. It can be said that it was all in one sitting. I understand the army has to be strict on this stuff however I grew out of that and have been a stand up citizen and working man since, with character and working references as required all I want to do is be in the army, we all make mistakes and I am gutted my immature and poorly influenced actions may stop me doing something I’ve always wanted to do.

    Hi Kyle,
I applied back in 2021 however I was PMU’d because I needed surgery for my cleft palate.
Had the surgery and then passed a UOTC medical (army medical with Sandhurst) and then months after that I got an email saying I am FMD (I also got negative for sickle cell). I have not been to the Dr’s since my last medical (my GP told me this and said my info is the same as how it was in 2021).
However this March I left UOTC and reapplied. I’ve just been told that I have to appeal my first ever medical (because my UOTC medical doesn’t count for anything because it’s not on their system).

Let's say I get deferred due to a knee problem, that doesn't persist anymore, it was years ago, just a mild cartilage damage, there's a chance that it healed up completely since. (It was more than 2 years ago.) My knees are fully functional since, not a single pain, nor any limitations or any issues. My question is, is there a chance that I'll get the L2, so the best grade as possible after deferral if I appeal? I am planning for Paras. Also, I even received physio treatment after that. If I get deferred, how much deferral time could I expect?

At the same time apply for other things that you wanna do, if you get through it’s all good if not continue with whatever you had planned.
If you get to the medical stage and get deferred you have a good chance of appealing so it’s always worth trying.

I sent off my medical forms two days ago and I’m really worried. On the musculoskeletal section the doctor ticked yes and the scribbled it out and ticked no and also circled scoliosis. She then wrote no evidence found of scoliosis in crumlin hospital(big hospital in Dublin would have got X-rays and all) so I don’t know what to think I was told when I was younger I had a curved spine but scoliosis was never mentioned. What do you think of this?

Sorry for the late reply, did not see this comment. It hard to say mate, from what you have said he has circle scoliosis?
If so, this may cause problems but you will have to wait till your medical comes back. It may not get picked up due to it being so long ago. Have you been to the doctors with any back problems ?
if you do get reject or deferred you may just have to go back to the doctors and get him to write you a letter confirming you are ok and you have not suffered with any problems.
