More in depth video from Jonas Wackershauser! • NEW! RadioMaster NEXUS...
Awesome video, thanks Robert!
Nice Rob. And great job to Radiomaster and Rotorflight.
Awsome video, any chance you could do a setup video using the Nexus? I would be interested to see what the setup process is like. Considering it has a RPM port, I imagine it has built in governor? How does this governor perform?
Now that Rotorflight 2 is released, I think we will start to see setup videos! And yes you really want RPM with Rotorflight because it uses the RPM and gear ratios to filter noise. The governor works very well and is highly tunable. It was written with electric in mind, but there are a few people making it work with nitro too.
@@RobertBurrow87 awsome, thank you for the response. I'll be looking forward to more videos about it soon!
Great video and and great flying, Robert! Good to see this new exiting stuff! I believe this will start a new era for advanced heli control!
Great Video Rob short and to the point and I must say some pretty nice Mad Skills with the flight portion
Take Care
10/10 presentation
Super well done video man!
Very nice! How much time did it take to get the PID's set how you like them?
Now that I have been using Rotorflight for a while, I can usually get the PIDs to a very good point in just a couple flights. Like any new FBL, it took some time and experimenting to get an idea of what to change to get the right feel.
Amazing what they can cram in a tiny box. And the best mounting option? Double sided tape, smh. Lovely box, but would have been beautiful with a fixing point at each corner, maybe gummied?! 😊
I’ve seen on discord Dr Rudder (father of RF) recommend fixing FC as direct to airframe as possible ie dbl side tape so that the gyro gets all the vibration/moving data so that filters can deal with the ones you don’t want as accurately as possible. Gummies not recommended.
i bought two of the Nexus FBL units and two of the RP3-H recievers and have had a nightmare trying to set them up. OK i am new to radiomaster and its setup but after setting the TX and the the nexus i am still left with the thing not working. When i asked Radiomaster they said and let me quote 'All open-source systems are very complex; they are fully open and customizable remote control systems aimed at professional users. '. Well when i was buying these units i was not told this on any web site so let me warn any intermediate flier out there not to even consider buying these as a cheap option for an FBL controller as its unlikely you will get it working. Let me be clear.....For experts it is amazing technology but make sure you fall into that category before buying.
skill issue
Yeah no I'm still very much a beginner with helis and have no problems with Rotorflight, like most of the RC community your too set in your ways and unwilling to learn new and frankly better systems
Is it nitro compatible, specifically its governor function?
There are a few guys trying Rotorflight on nitro and it seems to be working with it. I don't have first hand experience with it though, might be best to hop in the Rotorflight Discord and ask how it's working for them :) discord.gg/6QUySXdEvd

Yet doing anything close to this with a Quad drone would be a Major Crime against Humanity from the AMA fixed wingers.
