- Two of my favorite things, action figure model kits and Transformers Soundwave! The Flame Toys Furai Model is excellent and I love the look and feel of the finished toy but part of the building process is a little nerve racking.

Hey Robo, as someone who’s only built two kits - I recommend the Bandai 30 Minute Missions Spinatio kits for some generic android types.
The line promotes kitbashing and the parts are mostly modular between all kits in the 30MM line.
I’m getting itch to do another model kit. I saw the BoBF Fett in Target the other day. I may give that a shot. Great looking kit. Too bad they didn’t do two of the buddies such as Laserbeak and Ravage.
Thanks for sharing this. I agree their kits can be a little frustrating and take scary amounts of pressure sometimes, but the end result usually makes up for it!
Flame Toys did make a G1 Optimus Prime model kit that would look great next to that Soundwave 😁
I’ve actually built that kit twice to do one like the cartoon and the other toy inspired
Here I was thinking I'd have a bad day but Robo once again swoops I to prove me wrong!😎
I loved the G1 Optimus Prime model kit. Hope the G1 Megatron comes out just as good. Nice work!
Robo building model kits is actually quite soothing xD
Always great to see you put together a model kit, the Star Wars ones were some of the first videos I watched on this channel all those years ago.
I will now forever call them DEKALLS. Genius. And soundwave is one of my two favorites as well, and im not a transformers guy!
He's Popeye of the transformers world
Just built mine today, really enjoyed that build experience (excluding putting the legs onto the body, nearly broke my thumbnail). To help with stickers over molded parts you can use a toothpick to push it down without damaging the foil. Also, the reason the chest kept popping open was because of excess sprue on the hinge, had that happen to a few of my gundams in the past lol
How would you fix it?
@@XED1216 excess sprue? I just use a cheap nail file. Just shave off until it fits right.
@@Black_Knight767 I’m sorry what does sprue mean?
@@XED1216 in an injection molding process the plastic is shot into a mold. There's support structures inside the mold that are remnants of the channels the plastic took to get to the proper cavities. That's the sprue, the leftover plastic from the molding process. Model kits are often sold on the sprue so you have to clip the pieces off using a nipper or snips, you don't want to do it too close to the piece as it could accidentally get damaged if your hand slips or something. So after you snip it you want to take a piece of sandpaper or a nail file and sand it away until it's smooth.
8:19 favorite joke in the video 😂
Oh cool! Nice Gundam, Robo!
Its good to see you doing model kits
I am the kind of model kit builder that believes if I am going to take the effort to cut the plastic off the sprews and spend the time and energy to put it together that I might as well spend the micro seconds it takes to file off the sprew tree nubbins they can be left behind if I don’t get a flush cut with the clippers.
I see you're a man of culture, Soundwave is indeed best Transformer.
Weird way to say Star Scream 🤔
Man, I'm just sitting here doing nothing, but even I felt like getting up & taking a lap around the house when you were fighting those shoulders!
If you enjoy this you’d probably like the g1 optimus kit. It def have some annoyances I had to glue but it’s awesome
Do more of these...its super relaxing!
It was nice to meet you at power con!
That Soundwave is CHONKY!
We have built quite a few of these Flame Kits and really enjoy the finished product. Thanks for this review I hadn’t grabbed this one yet.
I was kinda put off by the Skywarp, really need to go back and do Thundercracker. And now that I have this Soundwave and like it maybe I'll grab Optimus.
@@TheFwoosh my daughter has done the majority of the building and she has some of the same frustrations - but the final result looks good. Especially Optimus.
You did a good job!
Dare you say "Soundwave Superior ' Skywarp inferior 😂
Robo having problems with buttons is SO on brand. LOL
Soundwave: operation deactivation. Transformers devastation reference.
Love the toypit shirt man❤
A Robo toy review and Transformers are my bread and butter!
Robo definitely next time ya build a kit do a two snip system so you don’t need to worry about nubs!
Hell yeah!
I bought the Buzz model kit after watching your Woody review 😂😂😂 but I have not built it yet.
I always thought Soundwave is the coolest Decepticon. With his robotic monotone voice and access to minions.
I love furai's Transformers model kits. I just have big ham hands and a touch of arthritis that makes putting them together slightly more challenging 😅
Very curious as to why they decided to replicate the infamous early 2000's Dreamwave comics Pat Lee art style with this guy.
It's the guy who does the designs for Studio Trigger, he is known for making things very stylised
It's the guy who does the designs for Studio Trigger, he is known for making things very stylised
@miragebangbravern2024 If you're referring to Akira Amemiya, then I haven't seen any reliable sources that suggest he worked on Soundwave.
I am also not a fan of the Pat Lee design. It doesn't mix well with the rest of the Flame Toys figures. Hopefully they'll release a different design in the future.
Looks pretty good! I know the stickers are a pain! I used to have an optimus and bumble bee and some of the stickers were tiny!
Almost purchased but decided to wait for a Yolopark Advanced Soundwave (purely hope) to go with Megs
Robo, abobo,
Where'd the Sewer Lair Forum a-go-go....?
I learned today that not only do I hate assembling model kits, but I also hate watching people assemble model kits. However i do the needed for Robo.
@thefwoosh I think you can fold/compact ravage and put him into soundwaves chest..... Maybe..... Not any more if you glued it. Nice model thou.
Look besides action figures I also do Warhammer and scale models and stuff like that and I have one little tip get something called plastic glue and it melts and bond plastic so for parts that do have articulation use it it will make it harder for it to fall apart.
*don’t
My only grip is not trigger hands and no extra weapon for SW to hold. Wonder why? 🤔
I’d love to see you give nail glue a shot. It works great for me. In a pinch, what glue do you always default to?
About a year ago I built their Windblade and man I got all the same problems you did when building her. Tolerances are super tight, good thing the plastic it's a good quality but I have to say it it's not really fun to build
The end result makes all worth it.
Until the plastic starts to dry out and then you have a partsformer, loll
Soundwave's knee looks like the youtube logo
Hi, this is Maddox. I would just like to let you know about this figure I found on clearance for 9.00 it is the meta Morphin something. it is a bird creature from the power rangers universe. I don't know much about power rangers at all, and I'm aware that's a robo don't know topic so... it comes with nice detachable wings that snap in really nice. There is also a second pair that are more tame and less noticeable. it has an egg that is probably important, but I don't know, extra hands for fists, not the claws it has out of box and finally it has an electricity effect that is really well made. all in all, I believe with your love of wacky animal and "put in any display characters." This would be a great addition to your collection. P.S. Its full name is Power Rangers Lightning Collection Mighty Morphing Tenga Warrior.
I have the windblade kit, and I have to say after a while of keeping her in the box, her articulation got kinda loose. Gotta get to fixing it, but she does look fantastic.
Mr Robo, have you seen either the Yolopark amk pro g1 Megatron, or, even more excitingly, the takara missing link g1 Optimus? I feel like both lines could be your ‘gi joe classified’ for tfs! Much love
Love soundwave. Looks awesome. Hey Robo, what happened to the weekly last week?
I cannot stress how enjoyable I believe a Gunpla build would be if this build was in any way enjoyable, most of em, especially newer ones, are basically just this except way less physically demanding and way more streamlined in terms of the build itself.
Robo. Invest in a pour type panel line gundam marker. Maybe some metallic paints for where the decals are. Paint those details in. Top coat after and that kit will look better than those figures.
Ok, so the cassette player isn’t happening, but what about the Lamp Post from the first few minutes of the series? Basically an arm curled T-pose, bent forward.
Disappointed Ravage doesn’t fit inside, esp when that door won’t stay closed.
I’ll stick to Lego. The Celestial may be a bit short, but he can slide into the back of a cosmic display.
(Eyes that Hulkbuster. Again….)
And was that a BNL reference?
I’m telling Steve!
Not Steve Prime, but maybe Backyard Steve or a Couch Twin. 😜)
Did you live in Munich at any time? You remind me of someone I knew from many years ago.
Is this a good first model kit
Haven't built this one, but I'd generally recommend a Bandai Gundam kit as a first model (the Entry Grade Gundam is an excellent started kit)
This was my first model kit. It was simple and enjoyable to build
@@Brotendo-ts2eh thanks for the feedback
Where did you find the Skywarp? I've built Starscream and in middle of Acid Storm and Ootimus right now. Got Megatron and Bumble b3 in the Backlog. Who I have seen a few months back amd been hunting online for a price to pull the trigger appropriately is Devestator. That design of that kit of him/Them is so slick.
There have been so many variants amd st4ange region only I assume releases By Flame toys. The Rodimus and I think her name is Windjammer ( she is way past my G1 old ass) just came out three four years ago and went. If you find one they are really pricey.
The Seekers kits are tricky and just ok. I do have to say the G1 ver. Of Ootimus kit so far.
(Just need to build his legs to finish, I may chrome his red as I did his exaust and grill)
That Shockwave is cool. I am assuming no tapes as an accessory? No Lazer Beak, the Panter or the little Boom boom guy? That would be cool.
Oh almost forgot I have seen a Cliffjumper. Pretty much a new Head but a recolor of the Bumblebee mold. Proble. With this line though is the value. If you've built a Master Grade 1/100 Bandai Kit it's immediately apparent how much better d3signed and amount of plastic, ru news and overall d3sign you get for tge same 45 to 65 (deveststor is 99.00) dollars.
Man bumblebee is 45.99 comparable to a 1/144 BANDAI KIT for 25.00 bucks.
You really pay for the Hasbro licensing and franchise brand. It's a bummer.
If I find that Devestair for under 70 I feel like that would be the time to pull the trigger and get. Wait to long and he will either be gone or pitentiall6 more expensive. These kits have a behavior at retail I just haven't been able to figure out like I have with figures mostly.
Keep doing these if possible! Can imagine the kits can present a Roi loss when co sidering the time to build and edit the videos.
PS you are so correct about the instructions and it's sometimes cryptic and weird instruction. I messed up several times and even broke an arm on Starscream.
Thx again. Oh it's Xmas Eve today so Merry Xmas and or Happy Holidays! -Ry

Try rubbing it with a toothpick to push it in the details
🦖: His model kit looks so much more easier than mine was... :/ Given the fact that I had a Gundam model kit. & it was one of the newer ones. 👀
I have the Rodimus prime....its OK...the sound wave looks much better
I still haven't assembled the G1 prime. I hope they do G1 megatron.
Soundwave? Ehhhh... maybe. I'd need starscream first. And no, NOT the comic versions.
This model looks really good, but is it just me or are the hands and forearms too big?
They are a bit big to some extent, but it feels like the Dreamwave comics aesthetic imo
He ate his spinach
@@dtorrey867 Didn't know Soundwave hopped on board with Popeye lol
@@dtorrey867 "I ets me spinach"
- Soundwave, probably
Flame toys specializes in “a little fucked up in a cool way” proportions
Waaaait did I miss something, where the friggggg is the weekly?
Dude, u are f#$%ing funny
I really wish hasbro would finally just give us a great G1 soundwave at retail that we can actually find 🙄🙄
Are you sure ravage doesn't transform?
Ravage vas suppose to fit inside the chest and you ruined it. 😂😢
first to say first
The Water ones really present much better in the end. The Stickers at least on The Starscream kit are just as or worse and too shiny lame quality. Like back in the OG G1 toy stickers bad. Just clashes with the tone of the Kits design.
That Ravage seems like a real afterthought. Really lame compared to how great Soundwave looks.
I really dislike the exaggerated proportions on this one, especially with the overdone shape of the head.
Wouldn’t normally watch a model kit vid, but I’ll make time for a review from Robo
Hhmmmm.....blackwash??!? Humm!
I'm into model kits. I refuse to pay that much money for a tiny model. I can hear Hasbro sucking the fun out of transformers model kits. I bought a few, but won't be suckered into any more
Just be happy those stickers aren't the water ones. I HATE those. You and I build models the same way. No matter how hard I try, I will put together something backwards or whatever then have to pry it apart again.
I had to glue a few pieces down on a model kit I just put together. Dumbest design I have every seen. You just look at it and things pop off. So glued the hell out of it.
