Highly recommend listening to Alter Bridge’s Show Me A Sign, which is also a song about the feeling of losing faith and searching for meaning. It’s dark lyrically but it’s just incredible.
These guys do not get the credit they deserve here in the states because of the creed lovers, let it go folks because they blow creed out of the water ! Huge in europe, one of the top selling bands and filling arenas. I dont get it?
You can see the mischievous grin and sparkle in Myles' eyes while he's introducing the song. He KNOWS he's gonna take you on a RIDE, and no one is suspecting it.
I saw a comment on another reaction to this performance from someone who was in the crowd, and they said that there was several more minutes of applause after what they show in this video. The band said this song got the biggest reaction from the crowd both nights they performed it. Pretty incredible.
So I took up the guitar because of Mark Tremonti as a massive Creed fan. Then Scott leaves, plug in Myles and Alter Bridge is born in 2004. They've been my favorite band since. Their first album was the best in my opinion. Rumor has it Myles was not going to hit that high note and the look from Tremonti was, he went there.
Same here! Can you believe it’s been 20 frickin’ years following these guys as AB alone? That’s not to mention following them as Creed. Also, I’m sure once Myles got onstage, heard the orchestra behind him, and felt the energy of the crowd, there was no way he wasn’t hitting that note.
Nice reaction bro! never gets old seeing someones reaction to this for the first time. Also just throwing out some general Alter Bridge info for ya, I seen you talk about Mark being Creeds guitarist in a different video but actually Brian Marshall (bass) and Scott Phillips (drums) used to be in Creed as well. Essentially its the same group of guys with a different singer however they sound nothing like Creed and I'd argue they are much much better! Miles Kennedy is an amazing vocalist. Alter Bridge is just criminally underrated because people compare them to creed even though they're nothing alike.
Curiosity: if you have watched the movie Rockstar with Mark Wahlberg, the dude he picks up at the end of the movie is Myles Kennedy hitting crazy notes :)
This how I interpret the song as a conversation between Myles and Mark: Mark: There is a god because of this and that. Myles: I don't think so but I do not wish we are alone. Heard Myles two solo album and it kinda sound like he's at least an agnostic.
Myles has struggled with his Faith. This song is like a conversation between Myles and Mark. Myles says he has fear and hopes he is wrong. Mark reassuring him this existance isnt it. Myles is a very kind person...which goes with the name of the song...words...darker than their wings. Him saying hes not sure he believes but at the same time him being a very kind person.
Don't want to open a can of worms but......ok I will. Look into Devin Townsend. Be a lot more jaw dropping. I don't know if you have already or not, couldn't find it if you did.
He’s actually a decade younger than Kevin Bacon. But he has always looked younger than his age. He kinda looks like an amalgam of Kevin Bacon, Jered Leto, and Jim Carrey to me:)
@BrandonFaul Yeah nah, I think he's about a decade younger than Kevin, but still, way older than you would think. I think he was about 47 maybe 48 during this performance. Dude looks great 🙌
I love Alter Bridge and Tremonti so I am here for all of this and subscribed! More please!

The whole album was surrounding struggles with faith but this one hit the hardest. The line about waking to find perdition…
Check this whole concert! It is absolutely fantastic and awe inspiring! Great band👍
Myles Kennedy….honestly just simply magnificent!

…..somewhere he’s STILL holding that note. 🎵
Probably lol

Funny how Creed and AB sound nothing alike imho. Myles really took the bank to a whole new level.

Apparently, it's actually a conversation between Myles (non-believer) and Mark (believer) about God.
Definitive proof that listening to Alter Bridge improves your gnat-killing reflexes
😂
This how I interpret the song as a conversation between Myles and Mark:
Mark: There is a god because of this and that.
Myles: I don't think so but I do not wish we are alone.

Nah, Miles is an atheist and Mark is a believer, though not dogmatically. They are agreeing to disagree. Heard them talk about it in an interview.
Re-listen and it makes sense.
Tremonti? Yes AB is what remains of Creed with Myles Kennedy on vocals, I believe the bass player also changed.

One of the best live vocal performance ive seen, Incredible!!!🤘🤘
I cut this short!! You're telling things that no one cares about!! We just want a great reaction!! Not an explanation for the what the song's about!!
@michaelrich1283 who's we? You're the only one complaining. Relax you sound selfish. Get some sleep or something 😴
Haha he's probably about the same age as Kevin Bacon 😂
He looks way younger tho!
