So glad I found your channel and glad that we have similar taste in books. I love how you describe each book, very passionate and sincere. You definitely deserve more subscribers❤. Matrix is boring, I strongly agree. I couldn't get into it. Just like you I don't reread. Omg, I don't read much fantasy as well. I liked The Poppy War though.
Hi Kari, I’m a new subscriber and even though we don’t have exactly the same reading tastes we do enjoy some of the same. I’ve never read BUNNY but have read Alls Well xx great channel and recommendations Your very enchanting to listening too x
So many lovely favorites. Some of mine: "Piranesi" - Susanna Clarke "Parable of Sower" , "Parable of Talents" and "Kindred" all by Octavia E. Butler. All 4 books of "The Dandelion Dynasty" by Ken Liu "Migrations" - Charlotte McConaghy "One, No One and One Hundred Thousand" - Luigi Pirandello "The Prophet" - Khalil Gibran
Such a great video! Love to learn about your all time favorites! We seem to have quite a lot of books in common. "The Secret History" and "Wuthering Heights" are my absolute favorites 😍 Would love to hear more about your take on the ending of "Bunny". Finished it a couple of weeks ago and still don't quite know what to make of it... 😅
Thank you Anna! That’s awesome we have so many favorites in common 😊 The ending of Bunny kind of broke my brain and I didn’t quite know what to make of it either for awhile lol maybe I should do a reread and then I could make a spoilery vlog and be able to talk about the ending!
I feel like that's what makes "Bunny" so interesting. There are quite a lot of different interpretations possible. It's up to you as the reader to come up with your own interpretation. 😊
favorite books: Cloud Atlas by David Mitchell, A Canticle for Leibowitz by Walter M. Miller Jr., The Crow Road by Iain Banks, guilty pleasure book: Elvis, Jesus & Coca Cola by Kinky Friedman (I don't really have any guilty pleasures, but I suppose this would qualify somehow) popular books I hate: Under The Dome by Stephen King fastest read: The Blood of Angels by Johanna Sinisalo deserves more hype: The Bone Clocks by David Mitchell book to movie adaptations: Cloud Atlas by David Mitchell most reread: The Wheel of Time by Robert Jordan (I must've started from the beginning and read to what was out at the time some fifteen times or so) best outside-my-comfort-zone book: The Amazing Maurice and His Educated Rodents by Terry Pratchett (middle grade really isn't my thing, but you can trust Pratchett to make anything amazing) deserves the hype: Cloud Atlas by David Mitchell recommend to anyone: Discworld by Terry Pratchett. Yes. All 40+ books. favorite character: Holly Sykes from David Mitchell's Bone Clocks. Actually, most protagonists in his books. Nobody, not even Robin Hobb writes characters as well as Mitchell. book to live inside of: Terry Pratchett's Discworld thought I'd hate: Look, I scrolled through three years of my StoryGraph, and didn't find a single book I expected to hate, so I'll turn this one on its head. A book I expected to love, and ended up hating: Sprout Mask Replica by Robert Rankin. Hate isn't a strong enough word. made me cry: Utopia Avenue by David Mitchell read for the first time again: Cloud Atlas by David Mitchell Can you tell I love Cloud Atlas and David Mitchell in general?
Great list! I haven’t heard of all of these so I’m going to check them out. I have been curious about Cloud Atlas, you’ve definitely convinced me I need to give it a go!
I just discovered your channel and am a new subscriber. I can see we share very similar tastes in books. I would highly recommend you read Betty by Tiffany McDaniel. It’s a gorgeously written but brutal story about a girl, born to a wonderful Cherokee man and an extremely troubled white woman, growing up in a small town. It’s based on the life of the author’s mother and will hit you hard in the feels. I will warn you that in chapter 26 when you get to the scene with the cat on the bed, just skip to the end of the chapter. It involves graphic animal cruelty, which I’m sure you don’t want stuck in your head.
I felt the same way about your hated books, especially about Matrix… 😅it was such a disappointment, and it was so different from what I expected. Also, there was no dialogue/conversations between people, I found that writing style very odd. It was just not enjoyable and I already unhauled it, but yes that cover is so gorgeous!😩
Kari, I wrote a huge comment to play the tag game with you, but I do believe that UA-cam ate my comment 😒😭💔 Sooo anyway, fun video! We seem to have pretty similar reading tastes. Plus, maybe a future Kari goes to Versailles vlog !!?!👍👀🙏
omg I’m so sad to hear this! If you get bored and have time to kill, I’d love for you to try again 🥹 I’ve been thinking about filming something at Versailles! Plus it’s the perfect time of year to visit the gardens so I’m definitely going to do that in the near future! 🌸

@@ExLibrisKari Based on your list, I'd say there's a good chance you'll like it. Definitely fits that streak of books that divide opinions.

❤I love your book favorites.
Thank you!! 💕
Same with The Picture of Dorian Gray haha i get that some of the thoughts are genius but the story isn't crazy
I’m glad I’m not alone 😆
Have you read. Shadow of the Wind by Carlos Ruiz Zafon
I had never heard of it but when I just looked it up on Goodreads, apparently it’s very popular! It sounds intriguing, have you read it? Is it good?
Thirteen Moons by Frazier.

I totally agree with you, the execution was just so odd! Even though I hated it, I can't part with such a beautiful looking book 😅
