- Pete Townshend and The Deep End - Barefootin'
5. song of the greatest concert ever!
This video is recorded from a Laserdisc which should be the highest quality source currently availabe. Unfortunately, there is no DVD :( Just second hand VHS or Laserdiscs.
If you like it, go and buy a CD - it's called Pete Townshend's Deep End Live!
It does not contain all song from this concert, only 12 of them (be careful to buy the version with 2 bonus tracks).
(C) Copyright Eel Pie and Atlantic video.
I hope the guys from Atlantic will die in pain for not releasing a DVD.
The lineup of this band was absolutely stellar!
they all sure know how to have fun,ie, face to face, and that is what it is all about, having fun in a some times sad world.
One of my absolute favorites. That barefoot gal was into it.
Very nice park would be happy to know his song is still going to make people get up in Dance
Peter is a helpless dancer.
Wow! I haven't heard this song in so many years! I'm wide awake now, thought I was sleepy. Haha love what music does for you!!!!
Now that's what I call cutting loose!
love this song, rendition by Pete- rhythm and blues-
This is one of my favorite summer songs ... I checked out the different performers, and this, by far, is the best version ... in my opinion.
Check out Alan Price's version - best one in my opinion
Johnny Rivers, também interpreta essa canção , lindamente com o mesmo balanço
Robert Parker the original hit is THE BEST!
great song covered by these guys. nice
I believe Pete got Best Dancer in a Video, and Worst Dancer in a Video on some type of MTV Awards that year. He looked like Pee Wee Herman on adrenochrome. But it was spectacular!
I agree, very talented
Robert Parker would be happy his song is still going
Different to see Pete without a guitar. I've always thought he does a better job than Roger on some of his material, but I'm still SOOO glad he put the WHO back together!
DIG IT
I think Pete reached a state of Nirvana a few times!
I think the who would of been good doing this song...peter u are good on this....amazing how a song could take on a whole different demention!
This is Released on dvd on sept 16th 2016 via Amazon.
I bought the VHS back in '85 or so.
Beats the hell of that fucked up shit that The Who does.
Well what do you know ? Townsend can move without a guitar in his hands !
That's the problem, lol. His dance teacher must've been Elaine Benes.
We doin' a dance that cain't be beat...
ive got this on vynil it kicks ass ithink i got it out of a cuttout bin
simon phillips- best rock drummer ever! (maybe?) lol
Does anybody have the correct date on this show? Some sources say November 2nd, but Wikipedia says Nov.11, 1985.
David Gilmour!!!
It would seem like you ought to kick off your shoes to sing this song.
@baggins555 I'd go along with that.
Pete's dancing? Nul points - but 10/10 for effort...! :-)
Pee-Wee Herman the lead singer?
The camerawork is embarrassing the way they're following his feet as he's jumping around. He's not Michael Jackson doing some fancy footwork. The director obviously thought he would be literal with the footage and actually record Pete's feet... With shoes on. Not barefoot so it makes even less sense. The whole thing is so kitschy and awful. Pete dancing and playing air guitar. Why didn't he just play his own guitar? Oh man. I think he had some stuff going on. Lol
Who cares?
Pete can't exactly sing or dance on this one. ;)\
This video is freakin awesome. Lookit, Pete go. ..
Now if he had done this at halftime ---
HAPPY 7OTH BIRTHDAY, PETE TOWNSHEND
